Lazy Bear Lodge Cabin is an authentic hand-hewn log cabin nestled in the woods between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The location, while remote, is convenient to both Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Drive time to the center of Gatlinburg is 15 minutes, the center of Pigeon Forge is 15 minutes, and the entrance to the National Park is 15 minutes. The cabin was perfect for a much needed vacation with our teenage daughters. Everyone comfortably had their own space and we enjoyed relaxing at the cabin as much as we did doing many things the area has to offer. Would stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful place to relax and enjoy family time.

We had so much fun! There is plenty of room for everyone. The pool table was a favorite! The back deck is beautiful. I got to see my first wild bear! Would definitely stay here again!

3 day stay

We stayed 3 days the only down fall was going up and down the hills and how narrow the roads arw and the driveway was hard to get in and out of with our suburban due to the roads being narrow we ended up in the ditch . Kids loved being in the country and being able to see the bears.

Loved the cabin. The bed was great. We had a fire in the fireplace every evening. My only negative is the couch...not comfy at all but everything else was great!! Love the fact that is pet friendly...our shih tzu, Chevy, loved travelling with us.

Great location between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg

We had a very good time staying at the Lazy Bear Lodge Cabin! It was clean with all the amenities and close to Dollywood, restaurants and Gatlinburg.

Beautiful and cozy!

This cabin was everything and more then we hoped for. My son was so excited for a pool table and we enjoyed the hot tub for relaxing. Everything was very clean and it had a cozy home feeling. We would definitely stay here again!

Much needed time away.

This is our 4th stay at one of Mr. Crum's cabins. This cabin was new to us, but it did not disappoint. Our family had an amazing stay, the cabin was clean, and has great amenities. I HIGHLY recommend this cabin or any other cabin Mr. Crum owns.

Family getaway

As in other reviews the only complaint we had was low water pressure and maybe the beds are a little too firm. The cabin was so nice to just hang out and relax but close enough that you could get to town pretty quickly. Would definitely recommend a high clearance vehicle

Great experience!

Our family vacations in the pigeon forge/Gatlinburg area every year. This was by far, the best cabin experience we have had. It is off the normal road, up in the woods and very quiet and peaceful. There is enough space for a large family and plenty of things for the kids to do for entertainment. We will definitely be booking this one again.

Family Moon Stay

My now husband and I recently stayed here while in Gatlinburg getting married after a long 5 year engagement. We took our three kids and we had an absolute blast. The cabin was plenty big enough for all of us! It was clean, cozy and we will definitely be back in the future! Thank you for everything! Our kids said it was the BEST vacation we've ever taken as a family :)

Cute cabin in the woods

Cabin was nice. It was clean and decorated nice for fall. Outside fire pit and grill area was nice with lites. Four adults in our group and there was plenty of room. Only downside was the drive up mountain to the cabin. A little difficult to find, but host did provide detailed instructions. I did not like the narrow, winding road up the mountain, but cabin was nice. Host was responsive to questions and booking was super easy.

Good price and value!

Great place to stay at a good price. Could use a more detailed and thorough cleaning. The tub in the master bedroom made a gurgling noise every time the sink was used. There was a need to clean under and behind the beds - a lot of trash and debris. There was a used hand towel left in front of the shower. New pillows would be nice. There were blood stains on the master pillows. The dishwasher was not unloaded. Lightbulbs were burned out and not replaced.

Disappointed

Upon arriving at the property the lock wasnt working properly. Floors felt like they had sand on them. Several lights in the house had burnt out light bulbs. Broken swing on front porch. These are just a few of the issues. This was after the fact I received 2 emails with the incorrect homes on them. Finally was able get the actual home I had rented information.

Not the best not the worst

The owner was great and communicated we had a few issues with our stay though and the maintenance team left a LOT to be desired. The cabin is nice but its is dated and in need of some repairs. The hot tub is small with just a few jets and no power.it was also leaking, the deck wasnt in good shape i imagine due to the leaking hottub. Some of the outdoor furnature was broken the kitchen table chairs were pretty unstable as well. Pool table has been abused as well as the equipment. Its sad people dont take care of rentals and the owner has to tey and keep it up. We also had problems in both batbrooms with draining and no water pressure in showers. They are also building a new house right next to this one so the construction noise started at 730 am and lasted till around 6pm. The mountain road is narrow and dangerous and people fly up and down it. The trashcans by road wete also full so we had no where to put garbage for 5 days. We made the best of it and had fun but there were a lot of inconveniences. Will probably spend more to find something a little safer and nicer next time.

This was a church ladies retreat…there were several issues that need to be addressed before the next person stays there…#1.. roaches…#2.. only 2 rolls of toilet tissue (there were 9 ladies) we would have brought some if we had known.. we DID buy some..#3…no mirrors in the bedrooms.. only over the sink in the bathrooms… #4.. not enough towels… we had to wash towels in order for the next person to take a bath…#5 … floor under the table had not been swept…#6…coffee pot did not work… #6… tub upstairs gurgling.. may become a plumbing issue…#7…need to have more hanging racks to put towels etc..#8… can of BED BUG spray was under the sink… ladies became very concerned…hopefully this was only a spray to use after each guest as a precaution for the next guest… but..seriously… all in all… loved the place… just listed these as something to check out before it gets too far … some ok f the ladies used the hot tub and loved it.. we did see a bear one evening by the car …

Family of 8 vacation

The stay was amazing!The cabin was big enough for our entire party of 8.A plus that they allowed us to bring our small dogs. Some things in the pictures online listing have changed but it’s obvious the owner has done some renovating on this cabin due to the cleanliness of the cabin. Check in was a breeze and the owner/manager was easy to contact and handled any situations or questions with accuracy. Just be prepared to see some bears while visiting although they never bothered us we could sit on the back porch and see them walking in the wooded area. Hot tub was clean upon arrival.My kids and teens enjoyed playing pool every night.The road is a little steep and curvy but that is expected in the mountains. Overall great stay.

I am a native of East Tennessee. I grew up working in the Gatlinburg area in high school and college. I have traveled the world and saw some beautiful sights but each and every time I drive through the Smoky Mountains I think to myself, what a beautiful place to live.

Why they chose this property

Lazy Bear Lodge is an authentic hand hewn log cabin built in the 90s. I have newer and nicer cabins but this one is special. It sits back in the woods off of the main roadway so it gives you a feeling of privacy but you are not all alone. My family and I spent Thanksgiving here this past year and we all, agreed that this one was one of our favorites.
