This house was huge! Our family met at this location to stay for the weekend, and we had plenty of room. It is in a prime spot, close to shopping, groceries, etc. We even took a walk in the neighborhood for some exercise, and it was so peaceful!

Great place to stay. Owner and Jessica (Evolve) were prompt and courteous in resolving a minor issue when we arrived. There is parking for 4 vehicles off street and location was perfect for our needs in Altoona and Des Moines. It was well kept and had plenty linens and towels for our group of 13. The kitchen was adequately supplied to take care of our culinary needs too.

Great place for a large family

We recently stayed here for 3 nights with 7 kids. We found it large enough to really spread out and everyone have their own space. The kids especially enjoyed having a king or queen sized bed (almost) entirely to themselves. We didn't even use the "extra" bedding areas-office or living/ front room pull out sofa.

We had several people coming in from out of state to celebrate a graduation and the house was really nice. We had plenty of places to sleep and gather and cook. There is a short walking trail nearby so it was easy to get outside without having to drive somewhere. The grocery stores were close and we were close to the events we wanted to attend.

Nice property, Jessica the contact person was very responsive when we called about extra towels. I would think the host would see the number of guest and plan accordingly with towels and supplies, as we could have used a few more garbage bags, toilet paper and dishwasher soap. We did have a couple sleep in the basement and it was pretty cold as the upstairs was very warm. Maybe a space heater although I know those are not the safest things to have around.

We arrived at 4 pm (check in 3pm) and house was a mess from the previous renters! cleaning crew was short handed and did what they could do to get it ready.. The previous renters left a full pantry of new and used food items along with a full refridgerater! Cleaning person had sent me a text msg that they were running behind but i could not check my phone while i was driving. She did let us in to unload our suitcases and we all went to Dinner when we got back it was much better. Oh and don't think you can park 2 cars in garage unless they are smart cars lots of junk all around garage!!

Ed, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. - Digital entry, all locks can be a bit finicky at times but with a little patience will usually work with ease after entering your code a second time or maybe adjusting the door by pushing or pulling on it. We are watching the industry for new options and will continue to research this. - The garage key code has never failed during our use and was checked after this review with still no problems. - Ice Maker locking up, this was checked and the only thing we noticed was maybe some larger chunks of ice sticking together and not letting the ice fall freely through the door. We also provide additional ice cube trays if needed. - There is only one thermostat in this house to adjust the temperature and with it being a 2 story home unfortunately that can mean that there is a significant difference in temperature between the 2nd story and the basement. - Windows, we had a problem with the bay window in the master bedroom on the 2nd story and are currently getting quotes to have that repaired. We put up notices letting guests know not to open that set of windows. The other window in the master could have been opened and used. All other windows in the house are fine to be used. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused. - We provide one set of linens for each bed and they are washed and beds made with those linens before guests' arrival. There is also a set of linens in the closet near the front door for the fold-out couch in the front room. There is a washer and dryer as well as laundry detergent in the laundry room so that if something happens you are able to wash those linens and re-use them. - None of the beds are on a box spring, each of them are upholstered platform beds and they are all approximately the same height. I’m sorry if you felt that one was too low. - The kitchen table seats 6 and there are 6 chairs at the table. This is as shown in the pictures on the listing. In addition, two bean bag-type chairs in the basement could have been brought upstairs and there are also 3 folding chairs hanging in the garage that could have been used. Had you reached out to request additional chairs we would have made sure you knew that the extra chairs were in the garage. - There was a cutting board purchased and stocked at this house when it was listed, after checking due to this review we were unable to locate that cutting board. We have purchased another one and
