The Space:
The sunlit and coastal setting is set against the foreground of a towering gum tree, home to visiting wattlebirds, magpies and parrots. Sit on the front deck under the dappled light of the gum, with sprawling coastal gardens at your feet... Bathe in the sunshine on the private east deck while you relax, BBQ and entertain.
Wattlebird Coastal Hideaway is a retreat for families, couples or corporate stays. Situated in a quiet local neighbourhood, you can stroll 250m to the river boardwalk or boat ramp. Here you can go fishing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding or bird watching, with surfing, golf, boutique shopping and dining on nearby Hitchcock Avenue.
Ground floor living reveals a curated collection of art, indoor plants and comfortable furnishings. The effect is a calming aesthetic, synonymous with the relaxed nature of this picturesque seaside town. The living room features a big comfy couch by the gas log fireplace, complemented reverse cycle air conditioning and a ceiling fan. Settle in and watch movies (TV with Netflix connectivity) and use the Wifi. Dine with views of the magnificent gum tree, and enjoy casual meals at the breakfast bar. Kitchen amenities include an electric oven, gas cooktop, dishwasher, coffee pod machine and pantry. Fully-stocked crockery, cutlery and cookware, tea, coffee and some pantry essentials are provided.
Three bedrooms all have ceiling fans, while the upstairs Queen bedroom with ensuite has reverse cycle air conditioning. This privately positioned room has beautiful views of the sky and surrounding gum trees. Two bedrooms on the ground floor are serviced by a family bathroom (bath, shower, vanity and toilet). One is a Queen, the other a King bedroom with Smart TV (Netflix connectivity) and a sliding door to a private garden balcony. All beds are made with hotel quality sheets, and bath towels are provided. Please BYO beach towels.

The laundry has a washing machine/dryer combo, and outside is an outdoor shower for rinsing sandy beach feet. Surrounded by established trees, and landscaped with coastal gardens and synthetic turf, the property is fully fenced. Pet Friendly, by request only (a $50 pet fee will be added to your reservation, once House Rules have been agreed.) Parking in the driveway (note: the garage is locked (not available to guests).

Guests will have access to the whole property, excluding the garage. Parking in the driveway for 1 car, plus on-street parking. Maximum 2 cars per stay.

Beaches - Our beautiful local beaches including family-favourite, Ocean Grove Main Beach for swimming, surfing, and walking and is patrolled in summer months.
Reefs and 13th Beach offer waves for advanced surfers.
The Barwon River caters to family fishing, boating, SUPing, kayaking.
There are plenty of cafes and restaurants locally, with many more restaurants, wineries and breweries around the region.
Adventure Park is also a great day out with the kids – approx. 10mins drive away.

All within the immediate area: surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, SUPing (Stand Up Paddle), diving, bike riding, running paths, skateboarding and golf. Getting Around:
Our beach house is within easy walking/riding distance to the boardwalk along the river (250m), main Hitchcock street shops/café’s/supermarket (2km), and the river beach. Off-street parking for one car is available in the driveway, but the garage is locked and not available.
Closest train station 30km away (Geelong station) for V/Line train Geelong- Melbourne.
Barwon Heads is 1 hour 30 mins by car from Melbourne.
