Anna Maria Island Rentals - Beach Front - "Angels Envy" -Rod & Reel Pier Retreat

First, Anna Maria Island is broken up into 3 cities, Anna Maria, Holmes Beach and Bradenton Beach. The City of Anna Maria is the most northern part of the Island and the most popular. When searching for Beach front rentals, be careful. A standard search of VRBO will Show 300 plus listings. Only a fraction of these are actually in the city of Anna Maria, and even less are actually ON the Beach. Many will be, steps to beach, blocks to beach, or beach view, or beach area and on and on. Make sure you actually select beach when doing your search. Then make sure you zoom in on the map to see which ones are "ACTUALLY' ON THE BEACH. There aren't many, but MINE IS!!!!! I can't tell you how many people say they were mislead by this type of description and ended up blocks from the beach.
Anna Maria and it's "Old Florida Charm" will sweep you away. With breathtaking sugar white sand, emerald water and some of the most incredible sunsets and sunrises in the world, its no wonder you are looking us over. If you're looking for a new 3 or 4 story brand new concrete home with all the latest and greatest, this is NOT your place. This is an "Old Florida" beach home. That's the reason people come to Anna Maria, we are mostly "old Florida". Please review pictures closely to see what you get. If you're going to sit inside all day and look at the walls and marvel at the granite counter tops and how modern the place is, your wasting your vacation. What's more important, looking at the new modern place your staying at, or spending your time on the beach fishing or watching Dolphin's and Manatee's and incredible Sea Birds and our beautiful Island? Direct beach front with the water is less than 50 foot to your bedroom!
Our family has lived on this Island for 40 years and visited way before that.
From the first cup of coffee watching the sunrise in the morning to the margarita as the sun goes down, you won't be disappointed. Please note, this is an elevated home as required for all new homes built after the mid 1970's by Anna Maria City regulations. There are stairs from the ground level to the living second floor and ALL guest must be physically capable of climbing stairs.
Why not spend your vacation at my home and truly enjoy Anna Maria!!
Please Note: the entire west coast of Florida suffered several Hurricanes in 2024 causing lots of beach movement and storm damage. My home was spared major damage and we are currently booking for 2025 and 2026. Thank You!!!

Angel’s Envy was the perfect respite. As soon as you walk in, you know you are home. Spent every morning watching sunrises and every evening with beautiful sunsets. Joe has supplied you with everything you need to just relax and enjoy. Super clean rooms and a wonderful kitchen to cook in. So close to everything, yet secluded enough for peace and quiet. The dolphins, manatees, birds, with a surprise appearance of a stingray, kept us entertained. Joe was an amazing host. Very responsive to our needs. If you are lucky enough to stay at his place, go out to the private beach and say hello to Bubba Bear . You will be glad for a wonderful experience. Thanks Joe! We appreciate you sharing your lovely home with us.

Absolutely perfect

This place is nicer than I expected. Very comfortable peaceful home with perfect location. I walked bean point every morning to find whole sand dollars. The dolphins play continuously out front and they came very close to me while paddle boarding. Comfortable beds and the kitchen has everything we needed. We actually never went out to eat. Thank you Joe! .

Great House in Anna Maria

We enjoyed Joe’s place so much! He was so prompt and helpful with communication and any questions we had. The house is old Florida charm, very clean, and great location! Dolphins put on a show daily while we were there. Quiet and peaceful area with great sunrises each day. Would go back again for sure!

Great views

Loved sitting on the second-floor balcony and watching the various wildlife. Nice quiet area with basically your own beach. We swam every day and felt very safe. Nightly walks to Bean Point to enjoy the sunset. Highly recommended. Thank you, Joe.

We had wonderful time at this place. The location cannot be better. All we needed was right there. We've been at different locations in Florida, but this one beats them all. Highly recommended.

This is Paradise!

We booked Joe's place for our first stay on Anna Maria Island and loved it! We loved being on the waterfront as well as so close to the pier and walking to sunsets on Bean Point. His home was very clean and had everything we needed - especially loved the kitchen supplies and cookware, as I tend to cook a lot. I cannot say enough good things about Angel's Envy - it was like staying at a friend's house, not a cold and sterile fancy rental (we're not fancy people). Loved it and highly recommend!

Perfection!!

I LOVE this beach house. It’s in the perfect location to see dolphins and manatees. I’ve stayed there several times and it’s still my favorite! On this trip, I did have one issue arise, but the owner responded quickly to my message and we worked out a solution. He went above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay. I can’t brag on him or this home enough!

Perfect location and gorgeous views

We had a fantastic week at Joe’s house over our kids’ spring break. We love the north end of AMI where we are able to easily get around via foot, bike, or golf cart. Add the beautiful views from Joe’s house, along with the Rod and Reel pier and Bean Point just steps away, I can’t think of a better location on the island. The house suited all of our needs and came with plenty of amenities to keep us entertained. It was easy to communicate with Joe before and during the trip. Overall, it exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely stay at this house again when we next visit AMI.

Winter escape

Anna Maria is a lovely island. Very casual and old Florida. Non-commercialized. Home is located right on the water. You will be able to watch the dolphins feed every day. About 3 blocks from bean point beach. Shells are abundant. Home is just the right size for 4. Home needs maintenance.

Cozy beach vibe perfection!

I can’t say enough about how wonderful this property is!! The house is comfortable, feels like home, and has newer kitchen appliances. The deck has an amazing hammock with a million dollar view at any time. We had multiple dolphins, manatees, manta rays, starfish, and beautiful sunrises to enjoy the entire week. The sandy yard area had beautiful shells. Cozy lounge chairs, umbrellas, cornhole, floating tubes with anchors & a gas grill are just a few of the perfect amenities. Bean Point beach is within a short walking distance, has clear blue water with velvet sand, and is a must for the amazing sunsets. Joe is very hospitable and always only a phone call away if needed. We will definitely return! Best week ever!!

Sea Sanctuary for the Soul!

My girlfriends and I are grateful to Joe for offering his beautiful home to rent and enjoy. Joe communicated with us throughout the catastrophic hurricanes and took every measure to accommodate our needs. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Joe's home is spectacular and had been updated and refurnished. His home was appointed with everything we needed for our comfort, entertainment, relaxation, and enjoyment. The rent is a great value considering such spectacular, unobstructed views and selfishly enjoying them without neighbors or being among a multi-unit property.Every day we were greeted with the most colorful and glorious sunrises, meandering manatees, rambunctious rays, salty sea birds, and delightful dolphins frolicking mere feet from us. Our cheeks were gently kissed by a fresh ocean breeze and we were mesmerized by the waves lapping outside our door with water colored every shade of blue and green which nourished our souls. Joe was an attentive host and responded quickly to our questions and needs leading up to and during our stay.The houses on either side were impacted by the devastating hurricanes and at various stages of disrepair. We felt it gave us a greater deal of privacy to enjoy the majestic views from the deck and ground level lounge chairs.Joe, we LOVED your place. Thank you for everything! Recent Vacation Trip

We just returned from our week stay at this wonderful house and location!! My husband and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary and could not have picked a better place. Our weather was perfect in low 80s every day. We woke up to gorgeous views everyday. This house is in the perfect spot. The beach is your back yard. Restaurants were pretty busy unless you went in the middle of the day. We got take out many nights and enjoyed right from our own deck. We tried the Rod & Reel Pier, City Pier, Jane & Ginny’s, North Shore Cafe, a local taco place and ice cream on Pine Street. All of our food was great! The grilled or blackened seafood was superior to the fried to us. We saw dolphins and manatees, used the kayaks and walked the beach many times. Sunrise and sunsets were beautiful! If your looking for a less crowded area the small town of Anna Maria is where it’s at. The small shops are fun and staff are very friendly! Would stay here again in a heart beat! Thanks Joe for a great vacation!!

Affordable Beachfront Home!

My husband, son, small dog, and I stayed at Angel's Envy in July of 2018. As far as the house itself, it was somewhat dated but very clean. The beds were very comfortable with high quality linens, and there were plenty of bath towels for everyone. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment (including a Keurig) as well as some spices, but otherwise bring your own necessities as the fridge and pantry are essentially empty. The temperature in the house varies widely from night to day and the A/C essentially runs constantly; the ceiling fan in the master is a must. The hall shower is bigger with much better water pressure than the stall shower in the bedroom so we all used the hall shower, which was fine. The covered deck has plenty of seating and there are plenty of beach chairs and floats available downstairs. The outdoor shower was wonderful for rinsing salt water off. The house, overall, met our expectations and was everything we needed for the week. The beach is literally in your backyard, but so is the Rod and Reel pier with seemingly hundreds of people sometimes - it was ALWAYS busy from dawn to bedtime. This really takes away from any kind of privacy, so keep that in mind if that's important to you. It made for some interesting people watching, but I often wished the pier weren't so close.

Stayed at Angel’s Envy 9/13-19 2025. Perfect vacation and it all started with This lovely property that we had the privilege to stay at. Location was perfect. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful home close to everything. We rented a golf cart and was able to get to all beaches and restaurants in minutes. Let’s get to the house details. Joes home was beautiful!! Sitting on the deck overlooking the ocean was an attraction in itself. Watching the birds dive into the water hunting for fish was amazing to watch. We saw dolphins jump, saw a manatee pass by. Loved seeing this every day while having our morning coffee. The home had everything we needed. Impeccably clean. I will be back soon. Joe, thank you for sharing your beautiful home with me and my husband. We had a perfect vacation.
