About this property

Manna Gums Tiny - Riddells Creek; Relax and Unwind

Enjoy the fresh air and tranquillity of nature surrounding this comfortable and cosy tiny house. Experience "living tiny", take a break from the clutter and busyness of daily life. With everything you need for a relaxing getaway, this unique space is located in the stunning Macedon Ranges. It is a short drive from Melbourne and Tullamarine airport, or a 30 minute walk/short bike ride from the Vline train station. Well-known tourist areas, cafes, wineries and nature trails are close by.

The space
Please read the listing details carefully so you know exactly what to expect with the Tiny house set up and location.

Within the tiny house there is a kitchenette, a double bed which can be transformed into a couch/sitting area, a bathroom with a composting toilet and shower, a loft area with a double bed sized foam mattress and an outdoor patio area for sitting to enjoy your morning cuppa. In front of the tiny is an outdoor table setting and a pit for camp fires. In the bathroom, Biologika body wash, shampoo and conditioner are provided, as well as towels and a hairdryer. Heating and a ceiling fan are provided, as well as a television. Sorry WIFI is not available.

The kitchenette has a 2 element stove top, a small fridge, microwave, sink, cooking pots, pans and utensils, cutlery and crockery, all the essentials for a home cooked meal. If you prefer to eat out, Riddells Creek and the surrounding towns have a variety of cafes, takeaway and restaurants. The renowned Piper St cafes and restaurants, in Kyneton, are about a 30 minute drive away.

The Macedon Ranges boasts many wineries, sightseeing opportunities and has much to offer nature lovers. The Hanging Rock reserve is a 20 minute drive and the beautiful Conglomerate Gully Flora Reserve is just a 5 minute drive away. There is a Farmers Market on every weekend and the Macedon Ranges has great mountain bike riding.

If you would like to create a work space, the bed can be converted into a couch/sitting area and a height adjustable, portable table is provided. You will need to use the data on your phone for internet, as there is no WIFI sorry.

Guest access
Parking is near the tiny house, just off the driveway. There are 4 steps up to the front, sorry it is not wheelchair accessible.

Check-in
Checking in is made easy with self-check in. The key will be left in a key safe for you so you can check in any time you like (after 3pm). If you let us know when you think you will be checking in, we will call by to say hi if we are home.

Check-out
You will find a Check out to-do list on the bench when you arrive and we really appreciate your help with this, as it helps us to keep the costs as low as possible for everyone. Please let me know if you need assistance with these jobs. An additional cleaning fee will be charged if they aren't completed. They include taking out your rubbish and putting in new bin liners, striping the bed and putting used linen and towels in the laundry bag provided, thoroughly washing up your dishes, drying them and putting them away where you found them and leaving the space, both inside and outside, neat and tidy.

Other things to note
You may come across some insects during your stay. Flies, mosquitos, ants and spiders are a natural part of the ecosystem here. Insect repellent and spray are provided if you need them.

Please note, this Tiny House is on a 3 acre block of land. You will have the front 1 and a 1/4 acre area/paddock to yourself. The main house on the property is approximately 60m away, and an art studio is approximately 50m away, both are behind the Tiny House. The driveway for the Tiny house is shared with the rest of the property so you may see a car or person walk along the driveway occasionally. We aim to give our guests as much privacy as possible. While the Tiny is surrounded by native trees and there is plenty of wildlife, it is not in the middle of nowhere and you can see other houses in the distance. The access road is approximately 50m away and it has a small amount of traffic, probably more walkers than cars though.

The couch sitting area is utilised by removing the bed linen (you can pop the bedding in the cupboards or the loft area), taking the breaks off the bed banquettes and rolling them out to the sides (then put the brakes back on). Use the pillows and cushions provided as a back rest. If you prefer to have the couches all set up for you on arrival, please let us know by the day before and we will arrange this for you. Otherwise the bed will be all made up for you.

The loft area has a foam mattress that is a few inches thick. It is not a proper sleeping mattress.

About the host

Host profile image
We are a family of four, living on a three acre block filled with beautiful gumtrees and wild life. We do our best to live sustainably, trying to grow some of our own food (if the wild life don't get to if first) and minimising our waste and carbon foot print as much as we can. We aim to run the Tiny house in the same way, with environmentally friendly products, compostable bin liners etc. It is our pleasure to share this special place with you and we hope the fresh air, trees and wild life of the beautiful Macedon Ranges gives you a special time away.

Why they chose this property

I love the bushland and wildlife of the Macedon Ranges, with beautiful walks and hikes, a great community and plenty of things to do.

What makes this property unique

Some of the trees on this block of land are believed to be pre-settlement trees, over 200 years old. They have a very special vibe about them!
