Dana is a Montauk native and grew up around the corner. She met Jason in Breckenridge in 2001 and after travelling around and enjoying Breck winters, the two returned to Montauk permanently in 2013. They work full time at the family business in town. They bought and flipped a unit in Montauk Shores, and have now purchased this house. The pair's hard work along with Dana's love of home design brought their first property some recognition & a quick sale in 2017. After owning the house for 5 years and working on permitting, the couple has received permits and is embarking on an addition that includes a garage, mud room, powder room & pool. An area above the garage could be finished in the future and would include a master suite with double sinks, water closet, oversized shower & freestanding tub, an upstairs laundry room & den.
Why they chose this property
21 Fenwick is around the corner from where Dana grew up and is one of the most convenient locations in town. You can get anywhere on back roads avoiding traffic, and its central location means everything is within 5 minutes of the house. On top of that, the property was so private! The medium sized house, large yard, and even larger wooded area screamed potential. Jason loves the woods & Dana loves the sun, so it was perfect for us both. We can walk to my mom's, sister's, and my best friend's house all in about 3 minutes! We spend our winters updating, improving & renovating. Any repeat tenant can expect new upgrades as the years go by. All summer long, you'll find people walking along Essex Street into town and to the beach. It is just under a mile to town, and the ocean beaches are right there, on the southern block.
What makes this property unique
We do everything we can to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. We have rented plenty of houses while on vacation ourselves, and there's nothing worse than arriving at a beautiful rental to find there aren't any cutting boards, it has only one decent knife, or you have to go out and spend $300 on paper towels, tin foil, and ziplock bags just to have the supplies you need to live there for a week. We leave you all of our own supplies, right down to the spices & condiments. Everything that is in our place on a normal day is still in the house when you rent it, except for our clothing and toiletries. We do our best to anticipate what you might need & leave it for you. If we've forgotten anything, please ask! We move in with my parents who live right around the corner in the summer, so if there are ever any issues, we can be over quickly to help.
