Comfortable apartment with terrace in Ajijic Centro
Canadian-owned. 54 m2 (586 ft2) indoor space, recently renovated into an “eclectic-contemporary-Mexican-rustic” space. Because you are on the second floor with a 15 m2 (161 ft2) private terrace, you have a view of the professionally landscaped garden with mangos, hibiscus, bird of paradise (in season).
Queen bed with ceiling fan, original art, living room with ceiling fan, large washroom with shower and tub, kitchen. Wi-fi. Air conditioning not necessary, as it catches the mild on-shore breezes. Electric space heater in case you need it.
The whole property has undergone a major restoration. We have designed our accommodation to appeal particularly to Americans and Canadians who want high-quality accommodation in central Ajijic for a period of a week to a couple of months. (There is an over-28-day discount discount.)
We are in Ajijic village, 4 minute walk to the central plaza, 8 minutes to Lake Chapala Society or to the start of hiking trails, 10 minutes to the malecón (lakeside promenade), close to restaurants.
Purified water at all taps. Housekeeping once per week. Secure indoor parking for a motorcycle. If you have a car, there is street parking. Solar-heated salt-water pool. We have a roofed pool patio with gas grill, and a rooftop "mirador" patio, both shared two other rental units. No pets or indoor smoking please.
We have two internet suppliers with very good reliability. If a problem, we switch to the other one.
We have one well-socialized dog - a terrier mix.
We have two other rentals on this property: the Mirador Loft https://www.vrbo.com/1125562, and the Casita Grande https://www.vrbo.com/982736. And also a new 3-bedroom house in West Ajijic, https:vrbo.com/3670899.

Wonderful hosts
Ramon and Sue have a beautiful casa and casita. Their hospitality was beyond superb. The only downside was the dogs barking....Ramon had mentioned noise in his posting so some was expected. White noise and earplugs were a great help with this.

Thank you Fern. Yes, we are central in a joyously noisy village (parties, cohetes, roosters, dogs) in a joyously noisy country!
Great location, close to Ajijic Centro’s shops and great restaurants. Clean and comfortable casita, nicely decorated with a lovely patio with a beautiful view of the lake in the distance.
Excellent!!!! Will recommend property to anyone looking to visit this area. Owners were gracious hosts.

Through the Portal to Paradise
From a somewhat grimy street, the door opens to a beautiful garden filled with sunshine. While we enjoyed the peace and quiet of our small upstairs Casa, we were able to walk to all that the town had to offer. The apartment was well equipped and our hosts, Ramon and Sue,very helpful. We hope to escape some of our Quebec Winter again. W. Sewell

Best place to stay in Ajijic!
We can’t say enough about the wonderful time we had here! The hosts are amazing! The casita was perfect and spotlessly clean. Everything you could possibly need and the bed was super comfy. The pool was fun and so warm. The location just doesn’t get any better. A perfect home away from home with a lovey dog to welcome you. Absolutely loved staying there. Thank you, Sue and Ramon, for everything. We will see you when we come back.

Lovely Gem in Ajijic
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Lakeview Suite. The apartment was just the perfect size for a couple. Nice living area with flat screen TV and access to lots of movies etc. The bed room was cosy and the bed was very comfortable. Huge bathroom with a tub/shower. The kitchen was adequate with everything you needed supplied such as dishes, utensils and foil wrap, paper towels etc. The only thing was that it would have been nice to have a full stove instead of just the two burners. We had a very nice deck that we could sit out on and enjoy the views of the lake and garden. Also a nice pool to swim in on the grounds. Sue and Ramon were excellent hosts and we're there to help us if we had any questions about the area. Also this place is close to the main part of town and we could walk everywhere. We would love to come back here for another month next year.

Excellent stay in a lovely property!
Ramon and Sue have a lovely property and were friendly & attentive hosts. The apartment was lovely and well equipped and the grounds were peaceful and very well maintained. The property is only a few minutes walk to the plaza, the tiangas, other shopping and lots of restaurants. Also it is only 3 blocks to the Ajijic bus station to catch the bus to go to Chapala, San Antonio, San Juan Cosala, Jocotepec or the direct bus to Guadalajara. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return again.

About the host
Hosted by Ramon Farndale
A retired engineer from Atlantic Canada and Toronto, married to a Mexican, now enjoying the highhlands of tropical Mexico. I like chatting with people about what to do here, and about moving to Ajijic.
Why they chose this property
Comfortable restoration of a classy property, in the action of the village.
What makes this property unique
Many Americans and Canadians come to Ajijic as snowbirds or sunbirds, for bird-watching, or especially to check out the location for retirement. Close walking distance to restaurants, art galleries, public space.
