About this property

Quiet lakeside cottage getaway close to mountain bike and hiking trails.

This single bedroom detached house is set right in front of the lake with a great view and easy access to the dock and shoreline. This is a great retreat for a couples getaway. There is a full bathroom with laundry and full kitchen with dishwasher. All you need is your clothes and some food and you can move in to a beautiful lakefront getaway for a quiet week of removal from the busy bustle of life. Have coffee on the dock after hiking or biking in the mountains behind the cottage right out the back door. We are 4 mins from the mountain bike trail head at Ellison Provincial Park. Go for a run on the quiet back road and get some hill training in or just a casual walk through the woods on the many trails in the area. There are also kayaks and paddle boards available for free if you would like to do water activities, or just bring your bathing suit for a soak in the beautiful clear water of Okanagan Lake.

There is a large deck for lounging in the sun, a covered eating area for any outdoor meals and a BBQ as well for those fresh lakeside meals you can't get anywhere else. There is also an indoor kitchen table if you prefer eating inside. There is a separate private parking area right next to the cottage for loading and unloading easily.

There is a large fire pit for lakeside fires with comfy adirondack chairs surrounding for a perfect ending to any lakeside day. Have a glass of wine or sherry fireside looking at the stars telling stories of the exciting day before retiring to a comfy warm king bed just steps away.

We are about 20 mins from downtown Vernon where you will find great downtown shops with lots of handmade art and Okanagan specific brands. There are many restaurants in town and lots of cafes with fresh cooking.

Silver Star Mountain Resort is 20 minutes from downtown Vernon and offers downhill mountain biking and hiking if you want to get up in the alpine. You can load your bike on the chairlift and bike down on any of the green, blue or black runs depending on your ability. You can rent bikes and e-bikes there if you don’t want to travel with them. The village has lots of nice mountain shops and restaurants as well as a spa.

There are many activities around the valley, you can rent a boat or jet skis, float the Enderby river on tubes, rent e-bikes and bike the rail trail along Kalamalka Lake to Oyama then bike up to wineries and breweries or do a driving tour. There is no shortage of things to do in the Okanagan Valley.

Check in is Saturdays any time after noon for this weekly rental. We promise you won't want to leave. Most of our customers come yearly and have been coming for many years.

Growing up on Okanagan Lake has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. My family has called this lake home for more than 40 years, and it has been the backdrop to countless memories—from long summer days on the water to quiet evenings watching the sunset over the mountains. We truly believe there is no place quite like it, which is why we love sharing it with others. Whether you’re here to relax, explore, or simply enjoy the incredible scenery, we hope you experience the same sense of peace and connection that has kept us here for decades. We can’t imagine living anywhere else, and we’re so happy to welcome guests to a place that means so much to our family.

Why they chose this property

This neighbourhood has been part of our family’s story from the very beginning. More than 40 years ago, my parents purchased this property when there were no homes here—just incredible potential and breathtaking views. They believed in the beauty of this special place long before it became the sought-after lakeside community it is today. They even built the road that now leads you here. Growing up, our neighbours became lifelong friends, and now it’s incredibly special to watch the next generation of kids grow up together, creating many of the same memories we did. This isn’t just where we live—it’s where our roots are, and we’re proud to share this little piece of Okanagan paradise with our guests.

What makes this property unique

Our property is much more than a vacation home—it’s part of our family’s history. We were the very first home built in this neighbourhood, and over the past 40 years we’ve lovingly developed the property from the ground up. My parents envisioned a place where people could slow down, appreciate nature, and experience the beauty of Okanagan Lake, and they were passionate about sharing it with others. We’re proud to continue that tradition today by welcoming guests to enjoy the same peaceful setting that has meant so much to our family. Surrounded by nature, with stunning lake views and a sense of tranquility that’s hard to find, it’s a place where generations of memories have been made, and we hope you’ll create some of your own here too.
