This is the most amazing house with a kind owner and it was perfect for our wedding party to stay at. It felt like an actual bed and breakfast that you had all to yourself. It was the anchor to our wedding weekend and I'm very grateful for this place and the memories we had here. Drive slow coming in!
We had a great time in the Fingerlakes and really enjoyed our stay here. The location is great, with a lot of opportunities for bird watching over the lake and bringing the dogs for walks around the area before heading out for the day. The house was very comfortable and had many nice sitting areas to enjoy the view
Kitchen extremely well equipped. Very quiet between rooms. Multiple coffee stations and mini-fridges. Large outdoor area: we set up badminton. Lots of scrub wood for the 5x5 fire pit. Large and varied private indoor spaces. Large dock and platform with multiple tie off points. Large wrap deck with lots of seating.
We had an excellent stay at Locke's Glen. The house is large and roomy and very well stocked. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. The kayaks and paddle boards were fun. Excellent location for visiting wineries. David Locke was friendly and helpful at recommending things to do or places to eat.
Weekend getaway with friends. Property was perfect for our needs. Large enough for everyone to spread out and enjoy their own space, as well as come together for fun and tons of laughs.
Kitchen was well equipped, as were other areas of the property.
We hope to make this a yearly tradition.
House was comfy, views incredible. Plenty of room to spread out and still have privacy. Wood burning fireplace and outdoor fire pits were great for our week with cooler weather. Kitchen well equipped. Location can’t be beat. Owner on adjacent property and available if needed. Communications easy.
Loche's Glen was a beautiful place for our family reunion. The house is perfect for a large group. The kitchen is well stocked and made for a great family style dinner one evening. It has great open spaces for groups to sit and chat, and the fire pit was perfect for a late afternoon gathering. The host was friendly and came to check on our stay when we passed in the yard.
The location is close to many wineries, breweries, and cheese tasting, giving everyone something to enjoy.

Great view, a few opportunities
Dave was a great host and always answered quickly. The location on the lake is beautiful. Unfortunately the A/C (which is only some room units) was not on when we arrived and it was 80 in parts of the house. Could use a large table in great room to gather to eat and for games (Dave did let us know of folding tables in the garage which we brought in- problem solved) it had plenty of room for ten of us to stay, beds were comfortable.
Locke's Glen is beautiful and well appointed. Neighbor- hood is quiet and safe. We had plenty of supplies and lots of room to spread out and relax. We especially enjoyed the deck and beautiful sunsets. The paddle boards and kayaks are easily accessible and a fun way to enjoy the lake. We have a few cosmetic suggestions. The grout in the upstairs shared bathroom needs cleaning, weeds along the gravel path need to be pulled and gravel replenished; clean out gutters-rain pours over edges. Overall we had a wonderful time! Lots to do and see. Worth the trip.

Could Use Improvements
We were underwhelmed with this house unfortunately. While the location was amazing and the house was large for the group we had, there were a few issues we had. The first was checking in the owner took 20-25 minutes to walk us through the house. We had two dogs and a toddler after a long drive just wanting to get into the house. The house was very warm. Not having air conditioning units in all of the bedrooms was tough given the warm weather. The basement room had a mildew smell as well. Finally the house could have been cleaner. We found some popcorn under a chair, dead flies and many fruit flies. The bathrooms had black mold. We had high expectations and we’re unfortunately let down.

Clark, The homeowners were surprised to read your review, as they are accustomed to providing 5-star experiences, and would like to clarify the following:Owner's response: "Clark, This is the first time in 10 years that anyone has complained about the walk-through process most people appreciate that we take the time to do this. We have already changed this process giving our guests the option to check in and figure things out on their own rather than us explaining things to them. All of the bedrooms have a modern mini-split combination AC/Heat unit. This is one of the things that we show people when we do the walk-through is how to use the units and explain the remote controls. We are also planning on adding the AC operations to the guest guide for anyone with questions. We have purchased some damp-rid products and plan to remove the carpet and install laminate over the winter to eliminate any odors from the basement. We apologize that you found popcorn under the chair this does not mean the house is not clean and we are sorry. We have talked to the cleaners and asked that they be more vigilant and look for these things. We are located near the water and as a lake house there are flies and fruit flies that are bound to get indoors when they are left open. This occurs often when the outside lights are left on all night as gnats cluster at the lights and then flood in when the doors are open.We will be doing a deep clean of the showers this will eliminate any mold. It's hard to remove the caulking and grout in between bookings, but we will get this taken care of. Our apologies. It is my goal to meet and exceed the highest expectations so I'll be working on continuous improvement now and through the winter. We appreciate your feedback and we will continue to deliver the 5-star experiences we are known for."
Perfect and private little getaway for family and furry friends.
The property is great. I hate it when we stay somewhere and there is no safe place to walk the pups, but this house is perfectly situated at the end of a private road with tons of space for exploration. If you have multiple generations or families staying together the house is laid out so everyone gets their own little abode.I knocked off 1 star for cleanliness because the coffee makers had old coffee grounds up inside of them and the “tiki bar” down on the docs wasn’t really set up like the pictures online. We were there over spring break, so I guess it was a bit out of season. My husband refused to use the coffee makers so we went to Walmart and spent 12 on a new one. Again, not a huge deal, but with anything that uses water and there is a potential for mold you want to make sure there isn’t anything lingering. Everything else was spotless, even all of the kitchen cookware which is rare at a VRBO.I imagine this place is spectacular in warmer months. The dock and shallow water is probably perfect for families with water dogs and kids. The host really goes above and beyond to make sure guests have all the resources and info on hand to have a great stay. I will warn others that in Spring the nearby town is completely dead. We wanted some souvenirs and the stores were only open on the weekends and a lot of the wineries and breweries were the same. I am sure the place is hopping in the summer.
This house is amazing! Large enough to accommodate 5 couples (plus a child and infant), lots of room to socialize, and amazing lake access with a dock, paddle boards, kayaks, and a waterfront bar! My only comment for improvement is that the beds and pillows in the downstairs rooms where my family stayed (can’t vouch for the rest of the house) were pretty beat up and in need of replacements. Pull out couches are not usable. But literally everything else was amazing and we would absolutely stay here again. The sunsets and water access were unrivaled, and David was a wonderful host.
We loved our time here! The house is incredibly well-stocked with everything you need, and there’s lots of space for people to spread out if you have a crowd. The sunset views can’t be beat, and we even got a fireworks show from across the lake while sitting around the fire pit one night. We would happily stay here again!
Lockes Glen was a magical place to stay for the week with our family. So many options for everyone! Beautiful, great and responsive host - all around wonderful week spent at Seneca Lake

Locke's Glen Seneca Lake
The size and layout of the house, plus its location are a 5. The amenities and cleanliness rate a 3. There is no AC on the 1st floor(main living area). The dishwasher was unusable for the 1st 2 days of our stay. This is significant with a large family who cook their meals. Though the dishwasher was not working on Sat. ,a phone call was required on Mon. to prompt the owner to fix it. The property has a long dock, but there is no ladder onto it from the water. So if you swim off the dock, you need to swim back to shore to get on again. This is a problem with children and older adults. Plus the owner's boat was stationed at the end of the dock until Sun around 1:00 PM. The dock should also be off limits to the owner's family members during rental weeks. This is a privacy and safety concern. Finally, the house needs a professional cleaning service to give it a thorough cleaning. The rental price is high end; and therefore the expectations are also high. Mr. Locke is congenial, but these are issues that I believe should be addressed for future renters.

AC on the 1st floor(main living area) is a planned installation for Fall 2021 when the ceilings can be torn up during weekdays for the ductwork. In the meantime there are several fans, two of which are commercial high-volume. All bedrooms have AC.
The dishwasher was unusable for the 1st 2 days until I could get through to the West coast manufacturer tech support line on Monday. The problem turned out to be owner/operator error in pressing the Start button (that figures)
The property has a long dock, but there is no ladder onto it from the water.
The previous guests took the custom-built ladder off the dock and put it into the water without the bolts to hold it and it disappeared. I searched the lake bottom for 2 days thinking I'd find it - I have since installed a commercial heavy-duty stainless steel ladder.
The owner's boat was stationed at the end of the dock until Sun around 1:00 PM.
A hoist for the boat is a planned installation for Spring 2022.
"The dock should also be off limits to the owner's family members during rental weeks. This is a privacy and safety concern."
Understandable from a privacy perspective but there are no safety issues. The owner and owner's nephew have jetski's on the dock. My nephew and I go to the dock to access the jetskis and never loiter or bother guests. This will be stated more clearly in the listing so renters can decline to rent if they have concerns.
Finally, the house needs a professional cleaning service to give it a thorough cleaning.
Agreed, which does happen but not possible during summer season and short windows between groups. In this particular case, my cleaning help was last minute unavailable so I scrambled to get it done. I have sinced lined up 2nd and even 3rd string backup cleaning help.
After being separated for over a year and a half due to COVId, our family gathered for two wonderful weeks at Locke’s Glen. This vacation property is the best equipped I have rented. Everyone from the 4 year old to the seniors enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boards and access to the water. When we had questions or requests, David responded quickly. We celebrated a 21st birthday, Father’s Day and a High School Graduation during our stay. It was the perfect setting and the memories we made will last the rest of our lives.
