The house is definitely worn down, worn down wood on the floors and steps in the home, uneven floors that the doors scrape the tiles, kitchen cabinets held up with extra wood, cracks on the shower caulking, uneven pavers around the outside pool, rusting pool furniture. The location is amazing. There are no basics like salt and pepper in the kitchen, no beach towels for the beach. Did not find out until after we arrived that there was a fee to heat the pool. Was expecting a better up kept house for the price.

Great location. Bedding was clean. The house was clean just has some needed maintenance unfinished light fixtures doors not opening entirely. Dingy living room furniture.

When we first checked in we found the glass on the coffee table broken in 3 pieces which we called about and they sent someone over to remove. The living room furniture was stained , filthy and broken down. Deck furniture was rusted and broken , our son sat in one and it collapsed with him in it, totaled of 4 broken on the deck. The pool had furniture that had missing screws that we avoided. Found can lights falling out of the ceiling in several places , doors were dragging on the floor going out to the garage and laundry door couldn't get they all the way open. Kitchen could have been stocked better found several with chips out of them. We have rented several times in Destin and I have never a bad review ever, this owner needs to upgrade this house badly and fix the problem areas. The reason I gave a 2 star was of the view only.

Awesome place

This place is a great place to stay. We had fun at the beach and our private pool. Only thing I would ask is for better deck chairs that sit higher then the railing so you can look over the deck easier. Other then that, great place.

Amazing view

This VRBO was exactly what we were looking for. The view was amazing, we had plenty of room for our family to hang out and relax and loved that we could walk right to the beach from the house. We also walked to restaurants, it was very convenient!!

Perfect Location!

Perfect location on the beach and also walkable to some restaurants (and the mall). Super responsive managers -- they sent a person to fix a broken banister right away. You cannot beat the convenience of this place. It is a bit well-worn in places, but super comfortable and convenient.

Splendid Family Vacation

This was our favorite family vacation yet! The house location was perfect! Close to restaurants and bars! Right on the beach! Walk out the back door into the white sands and emerald waters of Destin. The complimentary beach set up was super nice. Overall the house was fantastic, a few shower heads could be updated and provide some household items/beach towels. We can’t wait to come back and stay again!

The house was extremely outdated. The first floor bed was broke. The ac was broke. The house smelt like gas. There was mold on the vents. Several lights were burnt out and didn’t work. We were extremely disappointed in this property.

The pool was dirty when we got there. we were charged 80 for one hour early check-in. The house is in bad need of repairs. Most of the rooms smelled of mold. The beds were horrible. The furniture was stained and dirty. There were workers there every day we were not able to sit by the pool and relax we could not get out of the driveway or in because of the trucks the Noise we had to put up with. There were insects upstairs in the bedroom. They were light fixtures hanging from the ceilings and mold everywhere.

Review: Serenity Shores – Destin, FLWe recently stayed at Serenity Shores and experienced several issues that significantly impacted our trip. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this property as significant repairs are needed.Major Issue – Ceiling Leaks:There were multiple active leaks in the primary bedroom requiring pans and even 5-gallon buckets to catch water. The ceiling showed bubbling and worsening damage throughout the stay. Repairs were attempted but leaks continued whenever it rained.Ongoing Disruptions:Maintenance and contractors were on-site multiple days. While communication was responsive, the constant presence disrupted privacy and the overall vacation experience.Safety & Water Intrusion:Water leaked into the garage, creating standing water and a slip hazard. With children, this limited safe use of the space and children could not access the refigerator in the garage.Other Issues:Dishwasher did not work for several daysCockroach found in the kitchenThird-floor bathroom outlet not workingPrimary bathroom light fixture came loose and was hanging by the electrical wireRepairs & Relocation:Fixes appeared temporary (sealing/tarping) and did not resolve root issues. A relocation was offered but was smaller and not beachfront, so it wasn’t comparable.OverallGreat location, but the home had ongoing maintenance, water intrusion, and safety concerns that were not resolved during our stay.

Excellent location!

It was a wonderful stay in a wonderful location in a beautiful house. Only problem I had was after check out I got an email stating that I was charged $545 for a pool setting being switched to spa mode that put our pool at 104 degrees. We wasn’t even aware that a setting existed so when they told me this I emailed and explained. It didn’t help I was still charged even though we don’t know how it got switched and it was confirmed that the setting was not on spa mode when we checked in on Monday. I was supposed to be credited $200 since it was confirmed Monday and Tuesday was not in spa mode, but that hasn’t happened yet.
