The luxury of new, centrally located in beautiful American River. This 2018 build has been newly furnished in 2023 with WiFi-enabled appliances and a 4k Smart TV. Only 400m walk to the oyster shop, waterfront and key attractions of American River.

Set high on the hill, enjoy light-filled vistas over pastures and a large native garden.

The house has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a fully equipped chef's kitchen. Master has its own ensuite and queen bed. The second bedroom has its own bathroom and has a queen bed and bunk.

The River-Tide Retreat is the ideal place from which to head down to the pier for a fish or explore Kangaroo Island from this central location.

Relaxed stay in KI with family

The property is in a nice quiet location with a view over the bay. Walking distance to shop and restaurants. Owner answered promptly to questions.

A little piece of home

This property is absolutely divine - it is welcoming as soon as you come through the door and the palette and furnishings make you want to chill as soon as you arrive. It has everything you could ever need when you are away from home - all you need to do is bring your own food, clothes and personal items. The weather was a little chilly when we were there but you wouldn’t know it as the small heaters in each room quickly warmed each of the rooms and stayed warm when you need it. The showers had good pressure and I even took a photo of the shower head so that I could buy one for my own home! The owners, Marcus and Lara, are really approachable, friendly and responsive to enquires. They instilled an easy arrival and departure processes so that you can be left alone to enjoy the property from the day that you arrive and until you depart but they were always just a phone call away if needed. I would definitely come back and I wholeheartedly recommend this property for those who want to enjoy the island but still want the creature comforts of a home.

Loved the Cottage feel surrounded by Lavender bushes etc

It is compact and comfortable home with beautiful wraparound sitouts on two sides where you can watch the birds etc. Surrounded by lavender and other beautiful native plants in the garden, with trees around . Good for families etc. Walking distance to the water below but a bit of a hike uphill on the return.

Kangaroo Island is natures paradise. Its isolation and lack of "busyness" is something that really appealed to us as hosts. It offers guests from across Australia and Overseas, something very unique, with amazing beaches, beautiful vistas and a peace and quite that very few places on earth can still offer.

What makes this property unique

the River-Tide Retreat would be one of the most recently constructed Accommodation options in American River, and was furnished as a high-end BNB in late 2023, 4k smart tv and wifi enabled appliances are only part of the experience.

The house is high-set on a 1,000 Square Metre block of land (plenty of space) and the large deck offers a great place to relax in summer or winter.
