We had a great, relaxing trip to the cabin. It's a huge community with so many amenities that you have to be there for a week to enjoy them all. We loved swimming in and floating down the river as well as building a fire each night in the fire pit. Make sure your kids don't get to close to the neighbor's property along the river bank. He was quick to let us know not to tresspass even though he allowed his little dog to come visit as it pleased. We would definitely stay here again.

What a great place. Exactly as advertised. The only thing the listed didn’t get right was to explain just how many deer there are. It’s a long drive from the entrance of the neighborhood back to the cabin and you pass about a hundred on the drive in. Follow the directions to get to the cabin because coming in from the wrong direction makes the driveway tricky to navigate. Highly recommend.
We had a 3 night stay with another couple and 3 dogs. Host was amenable to the extra pup with added fee which we understood. Cabin was clean but quite dated from decor to appliances to bedding. The downstairs bedroom had bedding on it that, while clean, was extremely worn.
Lighting was an issue. While overhead lights were numerous, there was only one lamp in the living room (with a broken shade) so at night you either had to choose full overhead lighting or nearly complete darkness. There was only one very dim light in the downstairs master making it very hard to read before bed - especially if you slept on the side without the lamp.
The kitchen was stocked adequately with pots, pans, plates, etc and was easy to move around in. The shades on both the kitchen window and the dining window were crooked and broken and provided little privacy.
The grounds themselves were nice. Easy access to the river for fishing. Our pups were able to navigate into the river at one spot for a swim. The outside firepit was a nice gathering place and we enjoyed having the grill right outside the back door.
The deer were amazing...anywhere from 5-15 each night right in the yard. Lots of fun to watch.
Cossawattee Resort can be annoying to navigate but this cabin is located in a good spot...no treacherous hills or drop offs. It would be helpful for the directions to note that, based on the slant of the driveway, it is easier to approach the property by turning one street early.

Alyssa, so glad you enjoyed your stay at this amazing river front cabin rental in Ellijay. It's definitely dog friendly with plenty of room for your pups to play and enjoy the river. The Coosawattee River Resort is known for the abundance of deer that love to graze around the cabins, they are so docile you can feed some of them by hand.
We will mention the lights to the owner, unfortunately many of the river cabins are darker inside than the mountaintop ones, although they maybe able to put in a new fixture with brighter bulbs.
Definitely come back and stay with us again in the future
