SIFNOS Beach House - Plati Yialos

The Space

With ocean views, this tranquil 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom beach house is new, clean and simple with all the comforts you may need, and only 50 steps from the magnificent sand beach of Plati Yialos. You can be barefoot all day long, if you wish, and never step foot in a car!
Two bedrooms on the main level share a long terrace and bathroom with open floor showers, while the two bedrooms on the lower level share a bathroom with open floor shower. (stays a lot cooler than the main level if you prefer to sleep without air conditioning).
The top level has the kitchen, dining area that seats 4, living room, and a bathroom, with a veranda overlooking the Aegean Sea on one side, and olive groves and terraced hills on the other.
A washing machine is on the lower level and the fully equipped kitchen provides a large refrigerator/freezer, oven/stove top, kettle and espresso machine. An air conditioning/heating unit are in each bedroom and living room. There are 4 queen beds. The house sleeps 8 people very comfortably but can feel tight if all 8 are inside the living area at the same time. The veranda has seating for 10 people.
The interior space of the house is 107 square meters or 1085 square feet.

Interaction with Guests

You will be checked in and given a tour of the house.
Our selves/manager will be available for you if you encounter any problems.
You will also be able to reach us through email and Skype if you need anything further.

The Neighbourhood

Plati Yialos beach annually receives the European Union’s “Blue Flag” award given to the cleanest and safest coastal areas that protect the environment.
Situated on the south side of the island, the surrounding hills of Plati Yialos break the prevailing northern summer winds, making it a sanctuary with calm waters on windy days. “Plati Yialos” means “wide seashore” in Greek and is considered one of the longer beaches of the Cyclades islands.
Plati Yialos is one of the finest and sought after locations in Sifnos.
The beach is your backyard and you will find anything you may need.
There are many amenities in Plati Yialos: a wide array of quiet traditional and contemporary restaurants, coffee bars, seafood bars, mini food market, traditional bakery with cheese pies and custard pies, little shops for your beach or fashion needs, travel agent, pottery shops, beach chairs and umbrellas, water sports rentals on the beach, car rental agency, and sailing boat rentals at the marina and all this is just a short barefoot walk from the house.
There are many hiking trails starting at Plati Yialos, providing ancient footpath access to the rest of the island: the best way to see the island.
White-washed houses with traditional ceramic chimneys and small churches with blue domes, built on hills that lead to sandy beaches, this is Sifnos, the jewel of the Cyclades.

Getting Around

There is free parking on the street a few meters from the house.
There is a bus stop 30 meters from the house with regular buses to the main village of Apollonia and other destinations.
Radio taxis are readily available.
Plati Yialos also has a car rental agency.

House Rules

We kindly request that you respect and enjoy the house as much as we do and leave it in the same excellent condition you found it. Smoking not allowed inside but you may use the outside terraces of the house.
Pets are not allowed.
