This property is in a great location, close to an excellent cafe and in a nice quiet street. It is spacious and light. The hosts were very responsive to our messaging about makign one of the bedrooms suitable for our sons allergies and about delivering some wood for the fire place. However, the whole place needs a bit more love. Its not cheap. There were no instructions left for the fireplace, and it took ages to get going. It turns out that a cord needed to be plugged in, but did not reach to the wall, so we had to go scavenging for a cord. It still didn't work well, leading me to believe that it hasn't been used in a while and probably needs a service (as does the smoke alarm). The firelighters were out of date and did not work so we had to go to the shop to get more. Given we had only hired this place for the fireplace this was disappointing. We couldn't plug in at least three bedside lights (not enough cords?) there was no indication of extra heaters being in the house, meaning our first night was freezing, and the bedding was done cheaply - without actual duvet covers, only two sheets sandwiching a thin doona. There was a really gross smell coming from the main bathroom, again, I think a drain smell because the house hadn't been used for a while. Great house. great location, good for families. Just needs a bit of love.

We're sorry to hear that several aspects of the property didn't meet your expectations. We appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention. Your comments regarding the fireplace instructions and operation, the extension cord, firelighters, smoke alarm, bedside lamps, heating, bedding, and the odour from the bathroom have all been noted and will be passed on to our maintenance and cleaning teams for review.
We understand how disappointing it must have been, especially as you were looking forward to enjoying the fireplace during your stay. Feedback like yours is invaluable in helping us identify areas where we can improve both the property's presentation and the overall guest experience.
