Roomy apartment in a residential neighborhood close to coffee shops, restaurants and Metro. Very comfortable to hang out after a long day of museums. We used Uber which worked well.
This was a really great property, and a really great area! Appreciated the flexibility of the property, owner, and being able to assist us where they could.

Liked: Location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in, communication
Great location to the city, seemingly family friendly neighborhood, and just a few blocks from a grocery store. The check in process outlined in the “welcome email/in preparation for your stay email” did not align. The guest contact was unresponsive and my kids and I were stuck outside the house while I worked with the Evolve reps to even get an access code that allowed us entry. The beds were low quality, two rooms had beds that were SUPER firm and the twin bed is so poor quality you feel the bed frame thru the mattress- no box spring with any of them. The window coverings (blackout shades) in the master bedroom were great, but the other two bedrooms had flimsy ill fitting blinds that did not cancel out any light. The fixtures and linens in the house appeared clean, however the wood floors (which are beautiful) had dust bunnies whisking around and a food wrapper on the floor of the upstairs bathroom.
Perfect location, very cozy home— had everything we needed for our stay! Communication with the host was easy and they responded quickly. The home is very central to most attractions/activities in DC. We enjoyed our time and would definitely recommend this home!
This charming row house is a 10-15 minute drive from just about anything you want to do in DC. The beds are comfortable and the neighborhood was full of kids playing and dogs on walks. We loved the Old City Market & Oven for breakfast, groceries and a couple of great pizza dinners.
Great location and quaint row house. What I didn't notice initially when booking is no clothes washer/dryer, we just packed heavier than normal, rental rate for time period was slightly below average in the area which reflects lack of this amenity.
This place was the perfect fit for my family. Comfortable and Convenient. Great location for our activities in DC. Excellent communication with the host.
We enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend it for a family or small party. The house is centrally located and within walking distance of food stores, shops, gyms, and local restaurants. Our host was amazing - checking in at the start of our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. The home was also clean and cozy, with enough room for everyone. We had a great expderience and look forward to returning again soon!
This quirky old purple house is clearly much loved with its murals and creaky floors. The neighborhood is so lovely, anyone would feel comfortable there. A work in progress with plenty of room for our group of three adults, though one bedroom is definitely for a smaller person.
If I could give negative stars I would. Upon arrival I was trying to open the gate for parking and this lady popped out and said I’m the owner. I didn’t think much of it other than she was behind on the cleaning or something. She said I’m going to be in the basement for the day which I thought was weird since nowhere in the listing did it say owner on site. When I entered the home it was dirty but that was not the worst of the nightmare. Every time I walked by the kitchen I smelled cat spray. Then I heard a cat crying. I rented this property specifically to bring my dogs. The next day I saw the owner in the back yard with a dog. I contacted Vrbo/Evolve to ask why is she still here she is not supposed to be. I told them she is living in the basement. Not only did this make us uncomfortable but not knowing she had a dog and cat made it dangerous considering I almost let my dogs outside into the yard I rented when she was out there with her dog. She told Vrbo/Evolve there was a flood in the basement and she is working on it. Mind you if the basement was flooded how are you down there with your pets in dress flats and why has a plumber or handyman not come out. Vrbo/Evolve told me they told her she needed to fix the issue within a reasonable time and the pets must leave immediately, this never happened. I spoke to the owner and told her she shouldn’t be here and should leave and she laughed at me.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. We would like to clarify the situation for accuracy. Prior to and during the guest’s arrival, there was an active flooding issue in the basement that required attention and ongoing mitigation. On-site presence was required to manage the situation and coordinate necessary work. There were multiple communications during the stay, and at times there was misunderstanding regarding on-site presence. There was no intention to reside in the basement or interfere with the guest’s stay. A service animal is present on the property, which may have contributed to confusion regarding pets on site. We regret that the guest felt uncomfortable and appreciate the feedback, which has been noted. The property is managed with a focus on guest comfort and hospitality, and efforts are made to ensure a positive experience for every stay.
The home was spacious for the three of us and had what we needed for the week. The home is a quarter of a mile from a subway stop and less than a mile from Union Station. Trader Joe’s is a quarter of a mile away. There’s a gate at the bottom of the stairway which kept our dog downstairs with us during the day. A great place to stay for a visit to DC!
The location is perfect! My husband, kids (11,13), our dogs and I were very comfortable here. Very cute house that had bedrooms for everyone. The neighborhood is very cute, so many dogs! We enjoyed taking our pups to the dog park right down the block. The Giant and Whole Foods grocery stores had underground parking so food shopping was convenient. We were a 15 minute drive from museums and monuments. When we drove down the block there was usually parking on the street right in front of the house, but it was also nice having the parking space option around back. The kitchen lacked a few cooking utensils, but we made it work. We bought and left a strainer for future guests to use.
