Ocean Beach is a very exciting beach town, with beach crowds, traffic and overhead planes. This vacation rental is just far enough down the street from the beach to avoid the mayhem, but still close enough to walk. The backyard is a quiet escape from the street noise and perfect for grilling and hanging out on the deck. The AC and triple paned windows ensures a quiet and cool nights sleep

My family and I have made OB our home for the last 15 years and know what a special community it is. It's the perfect place to visit to experience everything San Diego has to offer in a central beach community. My wife and kids enjoy the local playgrounds, going to the beach, the farmers market every Wednesday evening, along with endless other activities and community events. I am a Firefighter at the local station, 15s, just a couple blocks west of the house. OB is a special and authentic beach community ideal for families, couples, and working professionals looking to enjoy the best of San Diego during their time here.

Why they chose this property

This property is the perfect place for a family vacation or for the working professional. It is a comfortable house with all the comforts of home. It's very private with a beautiful back yard with a grassy area for the kids, an expansive deck for relaxing, having a barbeque, or a glass of wine. The house is only 7 blocks from the beach, just far enough to stay out of the beach chaos, but close enough to walk to in no time. The walk takes you straight down Voltaire past the fire station, a number of excellent restaurants, breweries, and local businesses and coffee shops. Walk your dog down to dog beach and let them run free on the beach. Take your boards, fins, and family and spend the day at the beach. The south end is home to tide pools to see local sea life. The OB pier is perfect for sightseeing and having breakfast or lunch at the cafe on the pier. Newport Avenue is home to many local businesses, excellent restaurants, breweries, surf shops and night life.
Walking east from the house takes you to coffee shops, "To the Point" eatery perfect for breakfast. A bit further is Stumps, the local supermarket.
Within a very short drive are a number of marinas in Mission Bay where guests can rent boats, go on fishing charters or whale watching excursions. Mission Beach and more activities and night life are in that area. The other direction takes you to Liberty Station where there are more supermarkets, parks, stores, restaurants and an excellent full service theater "The Lot."
The airport is less than 10 minutes away. Downtown San Diego, the gaslamp district, and the Convention Center are also less than 10 minutes driving. The San Diego Zoo is about a 10 minute drive by Balboa Park, home to museums and a great botanical garden. A ferry runs from downtown to Coronado, a great place to spend the day. There is so much to do in San Diego and this home is close to it all.

Centrally located to everything in Ocean Beach. Guests could go the whole week here without getting into a car.

The house is well maintained and very clean. Shampoo and soap are provided. Owners live very close and any guest needs can be met in no time.
