A chic space with Mt Gibralter as your backdrop, set in a garden full of birdlife and the occasional wallaby. We offer private accommodation, with own entry through a shared garden, sitting room with a good selection of books and mags, Wifi and Bluetooth, kitchenette with a dining space, 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Very close to main wedding venues eg Bendooley Estate and Centennial Vineyards. Walking distance to Bowral, and close to Mittagong .

The space
The property contains 2 bedrooms: a queen sized bed, and 2 king singles in the second bedroom. Being self contained, it also contains a guest bathroom, separate sitting room looking into the garden,and small kitchen with dining area. Please note that when 2 guests wish to use both bedrooms for a one night stay we add an extra $50.00 to the fee. We provide quality linen, fresh local produce for breakfast with espresso coffee and tea, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and radio - all set within a charming space surrounded by contemporary original artwork.

Situated at the base of Mount Gibraltar with access to trails from the garden, this property offers a relaxed atmosphere in a secluded garden setting, which guests are encouraged to use. Located in a secluded part of Bowral, within easy walking distance to shops and cafes, this quiet country property provides you with a modern rustic charm that is sure to help you unwind and forget the stress of modern city life.

Guest access
I will send driving instructions closer to your arrival date .There is a small gravel path to the accommodation. The property adjoins Mt Gibraltar Reserve and guests can access the trails via the garden, and we encourage our guests to enjoy the garden and natural bird life.
We provide breakfast foods.
Guests can access a washing machine and dryer upon request.
We also have a collection of books on the local area and can recommend several wineries, walks, lookouts, picnic spots and local attractions.

A truly lovely break away.

Woodland Retreat is exactly that - a lovely, very well appointed, cosy little bungalow in a wonderful location close to all the good things that the Southern Highlands has to offer. Amazing value, with two separate rooms for two singles travelling - not always easy to find. It sits in the most lovely, peaceful garden. The hosts are so helpful and friendly. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

The location is very quiet. Cottage is comfortable and homely. Garden is serene. Still close enough to Bowral centre. Hosts friendly and accomodating. Would certainly stay again.

Little House at the Bottom of Gibraltar

Very cosy house surrounded by a beautiful garden. Very well equipped, including many books and a few board games to play. Some bush walks near by and not far from Bowral or Mittagong.

Quaint Property - Perfect for our overnight stay

Accommodation for working short stay

Accommodation was perfect for myself and 2 adult daughters - very clean, neat and well appointed. Greeted on arrival by Graham and provided with a lovely loaf of bread, fresh jam, fruit and fresh milk for our consumption. Positioned a short drive from central Mittagong and the RSL club (where we chose to eat dinner after working busy days). It's shame we didn't have time to sit and enjoy the beautiful gardens and fabulous book selection - maybe next time. Thankyou Graham and Fiona for having us.

Another blissful weekend in Bowral

This was our second stay. My friend and I live in Canberra and the Blue Mountains so this spot is a perfect half way point. It's great to have 2 seperate bedrooms at either end of the space and we enjoy meeting in the middle to socialise in the kitchen/lounge. Beds are comfy with crisp sheets and we appreciated the nourishment provided (loaf of bread and condiments, muesli, selection of teas etc). Such a pleasant setting at the base of Mt Gibraltar. The lush green garden and sounds of frogsong only added to the relaxing atmosphere. Grateful for a home away from home.

The property was lovely and host very helpful but did have problems communicating with Stayz itself. Had trouble accessing them when we had password problems and could not find phone contact.

Excellent overnight stay in Bowral

This property is even better than the pictures. Small but everything about this property was great, hosts have thought of everything. Comfortably fit 4 adults. When organising always prompt responses and very accomodating allowing early checkin to get to a Winery concert. The hosts Fiona and Grahame were lovely, we were met on arrival and everything explained about accomodation and local area, provided great beds, pillows and linen, towels and bathroom supplies, provided breakfast and tea coffee and hot chocolate. Very clean, beds comfortable, electric blankets if you need, sufficient heating, shower good. Close to Bowral less than 5 min by car. Loads of books and games. Lovely lounge area Surrounded by beautiful gardens. Prompt taxi service to concert we attended at Winery. This property was perfect however in Bowral Wifi is inconsistent everywhere. Really enjoyed our stay here excellent and exactly what we needed. Thankyou!

Loved the quiet solitude.

Couldn’t have asked for better accommodation. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, with climatic conditions, warm and cosy. Loved the garden surrounds; the marked walking trails. The only downside was the loose seat on one of the dining chairs! Jenny said ‘Thank you’ for the books.
