This cottage is beautiful, cozy, and had everything we needed for our stay. Gabriela is very responsive and provided all the information we needed to plan our weekend trip.

Quiet Retreat

We had the pleasure of staying in this lovely home , for the weekend. Its listed as a rustic retreat but was far from rustic. It had all modern conveniences and was newly updated. Parking was ample and the setting lovely , in the woods, not too far from water access. The host, was very communicative and offered refund as the high speed internet had not yet been installed but will be in the next few weeks. As we wanted a quiet retreat, of course we didn't mind. I believe the amenities listed a hot tub, and we were a little disappointed it was not there. As a new rental they are still , finishing up with installations. The kids enjoyed use of the kayaks, despite the rain all weekend. The rain itself just added to the ambiance and we did get to see a doe and her young faun stroll down the road just past the driveway. On Saturday we attended the fairy fest at the crystal cave store in town which was magical. Being able to return to this lovely home just made it even better. We did manage to capture some pics of real life fairies playing in the woods. The granddaughters and grandson, enjoyed the wings and wands immensely. Over all this rental is a 5-star. We noticed some little things that needed attention, but the whole stay was magical and I would recommend it highly. We have attended many vbro rentals over the years and this is definitely worth a visit. Thankyou Gabriella and family for sharing you beautiful home.

Thank you to our very first guests at Eagle Lake Cabin for their visit and honest review. We established the brand name “Rustic Muskoka Cottage” in 2019 with a 200-acre wooden home covered in cedar shake and nestled deep in the woods, we have since expanded our hosting portfolio with different editions to the brand. Our brand is Muskoka-inspired property rentals across Ontario. This edition “Eagle Lake Cabin” is in South River, Ontario and we are very excited to continue the brand name and further expand with other editions such as King Lake Caboose ready for rental and King Lake Cabin coming soon! Our information is available on Instagram @RusticMuskokaCottage (please follow us). As our first guests, there were some areas to iron out for sure and that is part of our daily drive towards improvements and upgrades to our home so our guests have a wonderful experience. We are so glad you did. We have now installed Starlink and it’s working wonderfully! We do have a cedar barrel sauna that can be added to the reservation and that experience is so awesome, we can’t wait to share that with future guests! What makes this property unique

We are experienced hosts and are sharing for the first time in June 2024 this wonderful property that is part of our brand name Rustic Muskoka Cottage. This "Eagle Lake Cabin" is an Edition located near Eagle Lake in South River, Ontario. This cabin was purchased in October 2023 and completely renovated from top to bottom, from inside to outside with love and lots of time. We are a small family and enjoy sharing our property with guests that love nature, love animals, who are kind, and considerate. This home originally built by the homeowner himself approximately 30 years ago. It sits on 4-acres of land and is mere steps to the 5-acre public boat launch. It's a 12-minute scenic drive to "The Narrows" where you'll find a family-friendly beachfront and swim area with children's playground and amenities. And the "Eagle Lake Narrows Store" where you'll find lots of convenience items plus pizza, poutine, and amazing Kawartha Lakes brand ice cream with tons of amazing flavours to choose from. We have kayaks included with the cabin rental (two) and a beautifully set up firepit area for our guests. A 5-burner propane BBQ and outdoor deck area for our guests to rest, relax and enjoy.
