About the host

Our family of 4 plus 3 non-shedding poodles love spending time in Muskoka. I have such fond childhood memories of exploring these lakes, skiing, campfires, fishing and enjoying nature as my parents rented a cottage near Cleveland's House on Lake Rosseau since the 80s. After an exhaustive search in 2004 my wife and I managed to find our own cottage in the heart of Muskoka, with road access, flat land, wind shelter, deep water and a sandy beach and great privacy. Over the years we've made it our own with extensive renovations and improvements. After we enjoyed several amazing family vacations abroad thanks to VRBO and other hosts we decided to occasionally rent our cottage to suitable families so they can enjoy all that Muskoka has to offer. We hope you enjoy Muskoka as much as we do and if our cottage looks like a good fit please reach out.
Why they chose this property
The Joseph River is so peaceful, wind sheltered and a perfect mix of sun and shade. We're so close to amazing dining, world class golf courses, paddling or boating across the big 3 Muskoka Lakes. With Starlink we have fast internet great for streaming including work conference calls (when needed) and a generator to for the rare power outage. Our neighbours are also amazing.
What makes this property unique
In the heart of Muskoka, road access, great for power boating or paddling, flat, well equipped and CLEAN. Some renters were concerned about the boat traffic in the river, but they all confirmed that the traffic is rather light, boats are well off our dock and it adds some interest.
