The gate to the backyard doesn’t lock. The neighborhood was okay but could have been better.

We regret to hear that you experienced a few issues during your stay, and we’ve followed up with the homeowner, who wanted to share the following:
-The backyard gate does lock from the outside. We wish we had been made aware of the gate concern during your stay, as we would have been happy to assist in real time
-While we understand neighborhood preferences can vary from guest to guest, the home is located in a quiet residential area near Charleston attractions, shopping, and the airport, as reflected in the listing
Thank you for your feedback, as it helps us improve future guest experiences.
We didn't need it but glad it was pet friendly, washer and dryer. close to a lot

Amazing stay
Smelt so clean ! And such a cute little house ! Found the hidden pull out bed under the bed room in the back it’s so cute, only 14 minutes away from downtown and 6 minutes from the mall it felt like we were in the middle of everything! Extremely thankful to have found this gem!!

Michaela thank you so much. We appreciate your review. Hopefully we can serve you again in the future.
This house was perfect for what my family needed. Close to downtown Charleston (10-20 minutes). The large fenced in yard was grear for my dogs. No complaints, just a suggestion: add grab bars to at least one of the two showers. I traveled with some senior citizens & that would have greatly eased their worries in the shower. Also, short people, bring a step stool to get into the tall king bed.

Hi Melissa, we love hearing that the home was a great fit for your family—and your pups! We followed up with the homeowner after reading your thoughtful feedback, and they wanted to share the following:-We already have a new, lower bed frame ready to go and plan to swap it in as soon as there’s a break between guests.-We appreciated your suggestion about the grab bars and plan to install one right away to make the shower more comfortable for all guests. Thanks for your valuable feedback.
The house was available on short notice, which worked well for us, as our trip was NOT for a pleasant vacation, instead we were attending the memorial for my Father-in-law. House owner was patient and understood the difficulties of the trip, and was available to address the very minor issues that cropped up. Nice, affordable place in a very expensive town!

Property was clean, there were some pre-existing damages in the property, small things mainly. The information on the property said that the pet fee would be charged pre-trip. After arriving i was charged an additional $122 for bringing a pet. There should be an option to whether or not you are bringing a pet and you shpuld be charged at checkout, not mid-trip. Also., the property has CSI security. There is a camera on the monitor inside that points into the living room. There are photos of past tenants stored on the device which is a HUGE violation of privacy to me and should be unacceptable.

Hi Josh, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn’t the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following: - We have the utmost respect for our guests' privacy and were unaware of the camera feature on the security system capturing images. After your feedback, the camera has been disabled to ensure future guests' comfort. Please note that CPI, the security provider, informed us that the images cannot be reviewed through an app, nor are they accessible by anyone. Additionally, we have added the camera to the property description, and will be covered while a guest is staying at the property. - The pet fee is disclosed in the listing description. Vrbo allows this fee to be added at the time of booking, but we understand how it could have been overlooked. - We aim to keep our property in top condition, but we’ll review any existing damages and make necessary repairs to ensure a better experience for future guests. Thanks for taking the time to leave your review.
Overall, our stay was fine, and with a few updates, this home could be a great rental. The location was convenient to many activities, and despite being close to a train and airport, it was surprisingly quiet—none of our kids were disturbed at night. The washer & dryer were excellent and made laundry easy. When we arrived, there was a noticeable odor, possibly from smoke, though the host said they hadn’t noticed it during cleaning. Air fresheners throughout suggested it might be recurring. The kitchen worked for basic meals but needs better stocking— not enough silverware for the guests it accommodates, no knife set, and missing basics like a baking sheet or measuring tools. Pots, pans, & the dishwasher were in great shape. The backyard could be lovely in cooler months, but in summer, pest control is needed—mosquitoes were heavy despite bug spray. The hammock pictured was missing, and we couldn’t enjoy the space. Supplies were minimal—one trash bag and one toilet paper roll per bathroom (one already opened) for our 3-night, 5-guest stay.A few small maintenance items—sticky front door, worn seal, and cracks in trim—could be addressed. With these upgrades and more attention to guest needs, this home could easily go from “good” to “great.”

We want our guests to arrive at a vacation home that is 100% ready for their stay, so we take the cleanliness and comfort of our properties seriously! We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- We understand there was a smoke odor in one room—while we clearly mark the home as non-smoking, some guests unfortunately don't follow house rules. We've since treated the space with an ozone machine to help fully eliminate any lingering smell.- We do provide a starter supply of essentials like toilet paper and trash bags, but we count on guests to bring extras if they have heavier needs during their stay.- We do our best to keep the kitchen stocked, but small items like silverware and knives often go missing. We're restocking based on your helpful feedback.- We provide seasonal pest control, but mosquitoes can still be a challenge in the summer heat. We're exploring ways to better manage the backyard space so guests can enjoy it more comfortably. Thanks for your valuable feedback as we continue to improve for future guests!
