OVERVIEW: Located on a peaceful wooded lot on a cul-de-sac. This is the ideal basecamp for you to explore the amazing Bruce Peninsula. Spreading out from 3-50 minute drives, there are more places to visit and explore than can be listed here. From the beach just up the road, the Grotto, caves, beaches, Bruce Trail access, ATV /snow mobile trails, golf courses and more, it all starts here! One Service Dog is permitted. Towels and toiletries are NOT provided except for hand and dish towels and hand and dish soaps.
When submitting a reservation request, guests must confirm that they have reviewed and accept all house rules before bookings will be approved.
OCCUPANCY:
Per local by-laws, occupancy is for 7 persons plus up to 4 children under the age of 12. No more than the 7 persons (plus children) are allowed on the property at any time. The three bedrooms consist of 1x queen bed, 1x bunk bed (2x twin), 1x bunk bed (1x full 1x twin). If you bring children there is a sofa bed, futon and a Pack ’n play travel crib. Bedding is not provided for these. Extra pillows are provided (2 in the Queen room closet).
The municipal water is wonderful, clean and safe. This is a system, toilet paper only for the toilets, and please do not put cooking grease down the sink!!! Also do not park vehicles on the lawn at anytime as this is the septic bed, the driveway is huge for vehicles and toys.

Oliphant marina (boat tours) and boat launch $10/launch.
Boat launches, free to public in Wiarton, Howdenvale and Sauble River.
Travel further to explore: Greig’s caves, Wiarton caves, Wiarton waterfront park and marina with public beach and splash pad. Tobermory, The Grotto, Lions Head, Singing Sands beach, and more.
The Bruce is known for the famous Bruce Trail and public waterfronts, for swimming, kite surfing, kayaking, fishing, in the winter enjoy cross country skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing.

Bed sheets, blankets and pillowcases for the beds in the three bedrooms will be freshly laundered and made, excepting that the upper bunk beds (per cleaners’ policy) will have the bedding placed upon them for guests to make up if using.

Cooking/Food: Please eat at the dining table, if food debris is found on in and around the sofas or bedrooms there will be an additional cleaning fee of $50/hour. Please wash dry and put away all dishes, again the charge is $50/hour to have the cleaner do your dishes. Odours: The range vent is internal and does not vent outside, therefore, to respect future guests please prepare stong odour foods such as fish and spices such as cumin, curry seasonings, on the BBQ and not inside the home. The cleaner charges $50/hour until odour is removed.
Some basic condiments such as oil, salt and pepper.
Vacuum and broom in closet.

Firewood: I do provide firewood stored in the the Shelter Logic shed. To help me manage this for the season, I have alloted 5 logs per night for the season which should be plenty, please be respectfull of this guidline.
Kindling is not provided, but can be purchased at several roadside areas nearby, as well as at several campgrounds. I do not provide an axe for liability reasons but should you choose to bring one and make your own kindling from the logs.....
BBQ grill: Propane supplied, spare in the shed.
Parking: Driveway parking on premises, large circular pull through driveway can accommodate multiple vehicles, boat or snowmobile trailers.
In the shed (key in lockbox) helmets, life jackets, marshmallow sticks, collapsible chairs for the beach.
Outdoors in a wooden box next to the shed: Sand Toys.
Quiet hours per the by-laws is 10pm to 7 am please respect this to avoid by-law infractions and neighbor complaints.
Pets: One service animal, dog only is always accepted BUT due to severe allergies of the owner, cats are not allowed under any circumstances. A service dog must be listed on the reservation request and is not to be on the furniture. The cleaning charge is $50+ until all hair is removed along with any odours. Removing excess hair before checking out will help/avoid this add-on charge.
Smoking/Vaping: I understand, but again due to breathing issues this must only be enjoyed outside of the home with waste properly disposed of.
Late check-out: Due to the cleaner schedule, they are there promptly at 11am, they charge $50/30mins that they must wait for you, if you are not out by 11am.

Respecting the neighbors and the by-laws will ensure that you have a fantastic stay.

Short Term Rental By-Law 104-2021:
4.1 No person shall permit the maximum number of persons on a premises at any one time,
including but not limited to residents, renters and their guests, to be greater than the stated occupoancy. Plus up to 4 children under the age of 12.
Noise By-Law 28-2016
6.1 No person shall make noise which causes a disturbance, nor may they conduct
themselves in a way that is likely to disturb area residents. 6.2 Examples of noise that is likely to disturb area residents includes but is not limited to: Loud music. Outdoor or backyard gatherings or activities involving excessive noise or disruptive behaviour. Late evening and/or early morning disturbances. Yelling, shouting, singing, fighting or conversing loudly. Outdoor speakers. Exceeding occupancy limits. Swearing and uttering profanities. Renters and their guests are not allowed to disturb neighbours or interfere with their enjoyment of their properties/premises.
10. Short term rental accommodation renters are not to host functions or parties at the short
term rental accommodation.
The local By-Laws are in the binder inside the cottage.
Fireworks are strictly prohibited 24/7 365 days of the year period.
