Reservation Requirement for 2025
Visitors who plan to enter Yosemite National Park between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Memorial Day weekend, any day between June 15 and August 15, or Labor Day weekend are likely to need a reservation. Visit the Yosemite National Park trip planning website or the NPS App for details, exceptions, and how to make a reservation. This system ensures all visitors, whether they plan in advance or decide last minute, can experience the park each day. It also spreads visitation across the day so that visitors have a better experience.
A reservation will be required to drive into or through Yosemite National Park on some days from May 24 through September 1, 2025, for those driving into the park between 6 am and 2 pm as follows:
May 24 through May 26 (Memorial Day weekend): A reservation is required from 6 am to 2 pm on Saturday through Monday.
May 27 through June 14: A reservation is not required at any time.
June 15 through August 15: A reservation is required from 6 am to 2 pm every day.
August 16 through August 29: A reservation is not required at any time.
August 30 through September 1 (Labor Day weekend): A reservation is required from 6 am to 2 pm on Saturday through Monday.
Driving through the park will also require a reservation if entering between 6 am and 2 pm. If you are planning to visit after peak hours, please do not arrive before 2 pm; vehicles blocking roads will be cited.
The 'Gingerbread House' is a rustic one-of-a-kind storybook A-Frame chalet with a loft. Absolutely adorable, loaded with charm and character however this may NOT suit some guests. The loft is accessed by way of a ladder with a 250 lb. weight limit. There is no bathroom or water up there, nevertheless this is probably one of the nicest rooms on the property. Set up in the trees offering the feeling of being in a tree house, a fantastic spot to relax, perhaps read a book, take nap on the queen size bed. We provide clean linens that have been washed in ECO friendly soap.
The main level offers a small well-equipped kitchenette with a small refrigerator, microwave, a large kitchen sink and a farmhouse table with seating for 2. Please note there is no stove/oven. There is a propane BBQ on the patio also.
The living/sitting area has a futon couch which makes a full-size bed, perfect for those who would rather not sleep in the loft or perhaps a 3rd person. There is a small 32-inch Samsung smart TV (no cable service). This cottage also offers wireless internet.
The cottage is best heated by the wood burning stove (we supply the paper, kindling and wood) however there is a small propane wall heater.
For the warmer days there is a wall air conditioner in the loft.
Adjacent to the kitchen area is a full bathroom with the “charm of yesterday” including a claw foot tub with the shower overhead and separate sink. Please note the water heater is small (20 gallons) and may not be suitable for warm baths during the cooler months.
Fresh clean towels that have been washed with ECO friendly soap, are provided for your use.
The steppingstone walkway outside leads to a cute small, covered patio area perfect for relaxing after a day of adventure.
