Wonderful stay in a spectacular location right on the beach with incredibly welcoming owners who could not have done more for us.

We stayed here as stop between the north and Alps of the South Island. The host left great instructions, but I did struggle to find bins and guide for the kitchen. It was very comfortable, with great wifi and all you need. Exactly what we wanted!

We loved our stay at Littlewood, best end of the lake for relaxing & chilling out. Close to drive to Arthur’s Pass & Greymouth, and fun time back at the batch playing pool & ping pong.We will be back !

Very neat and tidy and with just about every amenity you need for a relaxing stay.

Worst booking ever!We ended up not staying at this property and had to make alternative arrangements. There was only one bed made up for 4 people on arrival at 5pm on Saturday afternoon. Could only email owners and no response for hours.The only toilet is an outside drop toilet which is NOT advertised on the website..This needs to be made clear so people can make informed decisions about whether this is the right place for them. Owners refused any refund - not even a good will gesture. What a rip off!

Oozing Luminaries all around it, a skip to the beach & river for amazing views, this comfortable cottage ticks all the boxes for the price. Position is everything & Crooked Mile is in the most perfect place in Hokitika. Quiet, Quiet, Quiet. Hokitika has many trucks rolling through it and more modern looking properties can be quite noisy. This accommodation is so quiet & is a simple stroll to town, without crossing any busy roads. We left the kids to study, as we ventured out on days where there wasn't a cloud on Sky, sea and mountains. The kids simply popped down the road to get lunch, snacks etc. Cool nights were easily relived by the fireplace, which easily dried washing & the bathroom whilst small was enough for 5 of us. We didn't cook as Hokitika has fabulous places to eat, however the kitchen was easy for breakfast and lunch, thus dishes were easy to keep under control. Beds were comfortable and we didn't need the electric blankets or heaters in the rooms as the fireplace kept the house warm. There are modern and five-star places to stay in Hokitika, with all the mod-cons. This is not one of them. If you are looking for this, as the information says, don't stay here. However - if you are looking for a 100-year-old cottage, that is super comfortable, has history all around it and especially if you plan to read the Luminaries, this is the place for you. We had stayed here before, but first review. It's a great place to stay in Hokitika. You simply hear the sea rolling, there are no parties, like in the motels/hotels & if you can see that this is a comfortable stay in a 100-year-old cottage, crooked mile is the place for you
