About this property

A fabulously located, newly renovated Edwardian London property set in its own secluded garden, just minutes from major transport links to central London as well as Richmond centre. It was originally conceived as our family base in London, combining original period detail with all the comforts of a contemporary home. We love sharing our London home with guests and are more than happy to share tips and local secrets and have been doing so for over a decade now.

Both family friendly and work ready, this 3 double bedroom split level property offers luxury stays within 15 minutes by fast train from central London as well as the eateries, bars and shops of Richmond and its lovely riverside.

Our London home is within walking distance of some of the city's best amenities:

- 7 minute walk to Richmond overland/underground station with direct city links to central London.
- Opposite the Royal Botanical Kew Gardens with year round entertainment/ educational programmes and world class children's play area.
- Minutes to Richmond riverside with row boats and trips to historical palaces as well as Westminster and tow path running/cycle trails.
- Richmond Park with horse riding as well as cycle trails is nearby ad is Deer Park outdoor sports, tennis, swimming pools and children's play areas.

A modern, thermo regulating glass roofed kitchen/ diner sweeps out via bifold doors onto a fenced rose and olive tree lined garden, offering tranquil greenery all year round and indoor/outdoor entertainment space. A living area with flat screen smart view cable tv, designer sofa and original art and antiques - including grand piano - offers retreat for everyone.

Guests enjoy the high ceilings of the bedroom with its French colonial style furnishings and Coolmax memory foam superking bed. All towels and linen are professionally laundered and prepped and privacy ensured by sound proof windows/ screeners with fabric Roman blinds. There is plenty of space for a travel cot - just let us know if you need one.

A second double bedroom looks out onto the converted Christchurch and offers a peaceful space for children/friends.

The third bedroom suite, over an entire floor, has its own ensuite shower room. It is located downstairs and is well insulated from the rest of the house.

The ground floor also offers a family sized bathroom with luxury standalone, extra deep bath and separate walk in showers. A hairdryer and toiletries are provided. A small separate pantry houses the washer/dryer and fridge/freezer.

Stunning place and location.

Beautiful place with everything you need within easy reach of great eateries as well as central London. I’ve stayed at Tess’s properties many times over the years both alone and with my family. Reliably elegant, well thought out and serene. Whole heartedly recommended.

Renovated, great location

Great location in Richmond, charming rooms, nice patio. Check in process was excellent and queries responded to immediately. Highly recommend. (FYI third bedroom in basement has no window. The other two main floor bedrooms are spacious, lots of light.)

I am a British-Czech film maker with a young family who grew up in Richmond and have since lived all over Europe. I spend a great deal of time in Prague though come back to London frequently. I love travelling, reading and most of all making connections with people from all over the world.

Why they chose this property

This is our primary family home in the UK and is so for good reason. I grew up here and have strong connections with the local community, and my partner who travels all over the world for his work, loves coming here to recuperate and socialise. As active culture addicts we appreciate the excellent connections to central London but could not live without the gorgeous green spaces that Richmond affords. We have extended the main living space considerably to give children extra room and also to support working from home when necessary. The glass roofed area brings the outside inside and a feeling of brightness no matter the weather! We bring our children back frequently in order to benefit from London's cultural life and to attend camps and workshops and generally enrich their education.

What makes this property unique

We love the view of the garden from the main living space as well as the high ceilinged effect of the original Edwardian rooms. This apartment has all the benefits of London while maintaining the sense of a retreat.
