A nice property but needs some money spending on it!
Accommodation was broadly as described and entry via key box was easy. Tidy and clean inside although a few light bulbs were missing and were under-powered making it feel gloomy. Beds and furnishings were acceptable. Bathrooms were clean however the showers were dreadful. Very weak (a dribble really) and went hot and cold at random. To cap that, the towels were old, thin and basically hand towel sized. So after a good days hiking, the showers were not refreshing and we couldn't wait to get to our next hotel for a proper showering experience. An unnecessarily stingy approach to the showers spoiled what was otherwise a reasonable property. We would not return or recommend it for this reason.

No Park Inn
The property was small for four adults. The parking was extremely difficult and there was room for just one car. Each time I parked or left the property I had to make several manoeuvres to ensure the car was not damaged. There was no alternative nearby to park without using this space. The heating was not working. We relied on the fire for warmth. There was little natural light in the downstairs room. There was no map of the town so we had to go to the tourist info office to find out what was available in Ambleside. We would not recommend this cottage to anyone.

After booking, a couple of bad reviews appeared about cleanliness.
After booking, a couple of bad reviews appeared about cleanliness. Uh oh, we thought. But needn't have worried, any issues there were have been resolved and it was spotless. Comfy armchairs not too big and floppy. Memory foam mattresses on beds. Short walk downhill into town, bit of a slog uphill afterwards! Car parking fine for mid size car, but would be a bit fiddly for a 4x4.
