About this property
Panoramic Ocean Views & Hot Tub on Secluded Oregon Coast Oswald West State Park
Cove Beach Cottage is perched on a hill, with a beautiful view of the ocean. It overlooks Cove Beach, just a 3-minute walk away. Located between Cannon Beach and Manzanita, the cottage is surrounded by the old-growth forests of Oswald West State Park. Parts of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Sanctuary are visible from the living room. Enjoy a BBQ or the sound of the ocean from the deck. Or watch shooting stars at night from the new 2023 Marquis 3-person hot tub located on the deck.
We have a maximum number of 4 adults and 2 children per stay. There is an extra charge of $50/night per guest above four - that is, for guest 5 and 6.
Cove Beach is one of the least-known beaches on the Northern Oregon Coast. Watch pelicans and cormorants from the living room window as they roost on Castle Rock, part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Sanctuary. During low tide, a vast sand beach is exposed at Cove Beach. It is common to have the entire two-mile beach to yourself a rare treat not only for Oregon, but for most of the world. During high tide, there is not much sand exposed, but you can drive one mile to Arch Cape Beach where there is always sand. Or, within 6 miles to the south, you can visit Manzanita Beach, a stretch of seven miles of beach.
Cove Cottage is comfortable and well equipped, with fireplace, 2023 Samsung 43" TV and Dobly Soundbar for your viewing and listening pleasure, and WIFI. It is simple, comfortable, and pleasant. The 1500 square foot cottage home features a panoramic ocean view, an expansive deck with BBQ and hot tub, a large great room, 3 bedrooms, and an upstairs/loft with spiral staircase, all new appliances, gorgeous wood floors, and an 1100 square foot deck made from sustainably harvested Red Balau Mahogany.
PLEASE NOTE - The second floor two small bedrooms (one with two twin beds and the other with a queen bed) are in a loft with a sloping roof, so very tall people may find it cumbersome. The upstairs bedrooms are without closets. The gambrel design of the cottage makes it unique and charming.
These 2nd floor bedrooms are accessible by a spiral staircase which some guests may find awkward--in particular carrying luggage or a child up the spiral stairs. Children under 8 years of age should not be allowed on the stairs unsupervised.
NOTE - Both bathrooms are downstairs. If these features would be limiting and uncomfortable for you or your guests, we suggest you find alternate accommodations.
Leisure activities include beachcombing, bird watching, tidal pooling, whale watching, wildlife viewing, and walks in the forest. In Manzanita and Cannon Beach, there are opportunities for horseback riding, golfing, sand dune walks, and scenic drives on 101. The coast further away has deep sea fishing, cycling, kayaking, mountain biking, surf fishing, tennis, windsurfing, and sand sailing. Nearby within several miles are the communities of Cannon Beach and Manzanita, with coffee shops, restaurants, post office, and grocery stores. Downtown Manzanita offers shops, restaurants, cafes, a public library, tennis, and Manzanita Golf Course. Nehalem Bay is wonderful for Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP), kayaking, and fishing. Adjacent to Oswald West State Park, several trails provide dramatic views of Cape Falcon Marine Reserve and the Cape’s wildlife. Enjoy Short Sands beach for beach walking, agate hunting, tide pooling, kayaking, scuba diving, surfing, and wildlife viewing.

We have stayed here many times over the years; it is our favorite beach house on the Oregon Coast! You can't beat the view, the bed is super comfy, the stargazing incredible, love the fireplace!
We loved staying here and it was even better than expected. Being able to walk down to the beach at low tide, we saw some incredible tide pools! The hot tub was lovely, clean and hot, and we enjoyed watching the sunset from it. Everything was very comfortable and well-equipped. We would definitely like to stay here again. The location is also great, very short drive to some nice hiking too!
The house was so nice and comfortable. The view was phenomenal. Communication was easy, and they gave us so much good information for our stay. We appreciated the coffee and granola. We had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
So may things stood out about this stay. The hosts were communicative — not only providing a thick binder full of good information, but also providing information before our stay and during our stay. They even reached out when a winter weather advisory was issued for the area. The home was well stocked and very well labeled. It was easy to find things and figure out how to work things. There were loads of towels and even robes! We enjoyed our stay immensely!
Excellent property, tucked away location. Lots of little touches to make your stay better than anywhere else, and well maintained. Stargazing while recovering from long fun days in the hot tub was the best part.

We agree, stargazing from the hot tub is great--especially watching for meteors.
We were so cozy with the fireplace and great view to watch the storms. We used the kitchen and the outdoor grill and were impressed with the amenities. My favorite was the hanging basket chair and view - both inside and out. No complaints. We will be back. Thank you!
Great place for quiet relaxation as well as a great town (Cannon Beach) for everything else. Especially enjoyed the beach, tide pools and the hot tub. Wonderful hiking near by too.
Beautiful property with thoughtful hosts! They really did think of everything, from organic coffee and kitchen supplies, to books and board games. We had a lovely stay, and can’t wait to come back!

Every convenience in a homey setting. Sparkling clean. Kitchen outfitted for real cooking. Views were our reason for renting but everything about this place was set up for our comfort and enjoyment. It’s a jewel.
We had a great time in this lovely house. The view to the ocean is delightful - perfect house for a cold blustery oregon winter day! Loved being able to look at the ocean from the hot tub!

Why they chose this property
Best said from prior guests: "The picture windows mesmerized us day and night... enjoyed the hot tub while gawking at the stars and planets. Can't recommend a place more highly. But don't fill up the calendar completely as we're coming back."
"This place is special. It is well cared for, the architecture and construction of the house is amazing, the location is perfect, and will definitely come back when we can."
"It is an amazing place with the feeling of being completely private but within 10 minutes of two different towns with many good restaurants and destinations. We had the beach to ourselves every time that we made the 5 minute stroll to it....I am referring this place to all my friends. It is one of the best places that we have ever stayed through Home Away or any other vacation rental site."
What makes this property unique
Cove Cottage is a beautiful and serene living space, which draws the visitors attention to the beautiful and rugged Oregon Coast. It is full of nature and beauty, yet comfortable, but simple. Our prior guests say it best: "gorgeous memorable vacation days in your lovely cove location... is ideal for our stay... allowed for rest and peace as well as adventure. The beach is absolutely stunning. Our days in the cove cottage remain unforgettable and we look forward to returning."
"Access to local smaller towns (Cannon Beach/Manzanita) is fairly easy - a few miles and just a few minutes up/down the coast road, if you need to shop or crave a latte."
