This property should never be rented. On arrival it smelt damp, musty and was grubby. We had to clean and buy air freshners. There was mould on the bedroom ceiling, round the bath and kitchen sink. The woodburner was broken, the wifi worked for just 3 days, the oven fan was broken and the back door had to be forced open to gain access to the garden and view of the derelict house next door. The jumble sale cutlery, crockery and saucepans had to be washed up.with traces of egg on 2 plates. The owners personal toiletries were still in the bathroom, with personal medicines in the bedside tables and food and drink throughout the kitchen. There was only a small wardrobe for storage with the owners clothes inthe chest of drawers. The bathroom had a loose toilet seat and a large chip out of the bath.I could go on and on but shame on you Vrbo for even listing this property.. a complete waste of money. The worst place we have ever rented

Stayed 21 nights in Mar 2022
Response from VrboOwner on 18 May 2022
These guests booked for 21 nights.
We are sorry that they say that they did not enjoy their stay, however the comments they now make to do not align with the facts and we believe are mostly subjective. The guests stayed for 15 nights. If the house was as bad as this review suggests, "unrentable", why did they stay for over two weeks? During the first week we were able to communicate with the guests. After that they did not answer our telephone calls or messages.
During the first week Robin remarked what a nice, cosy house we had. We supplied a new blue flame gas fire in place of the wood burner and the guests said that they were content with that. No mention was ever made of mould, or any of the other issues he now complains about, either to us or our local manager who was in contact with the guests. In fact these guests left a bottle of wine and a thank you note for our manager!
The weather during the guests stay was unprecedented for Spain. Heavy rain, wind and low seasonal temperatures daily and the forecast was just as bad for the rest of the guests stay. We believe that this was the main underlying factor in the guests decision to leave after two weeks, simply because, the weather was not going to improve for the rest of their stay. Regarding the internet, we accept that there were unusual problems with the over the air signal. This was caused by the thick cloud and rain which absorbs the microwave signal. When guests raise valid issues, we take them seriously. Subsequently, we have upgraded the internet to a fibre optic 300 Mpbs system and we have added a full IPTV package.
The wood burner is now fully functional.
Regarding the guests comment about the oven fan not working, that is incorrect. We leave instructions for all the appliances. However, even if a guest chooses not to read them, how long does it take to make a phone call or send a message of enquiry? In this instance, it was a simple case of one push on the oven clock button to reset the oven.
About the host
Hosted by Paul Smith
We are Mel and Paul and since April 2019 we have been steadily improving the Town House in order to make our guests comfortable and feel at home. In 2021 we had the top terrace completely rebuilt. There is now a covered pergola enabling extra privacy, when sun bathing. In 2022 more improvements to the property have been made. Our contacts in Tormos are Karen Tame and Barry Judd.
