Riverview is a superb family holiday home situated within tranquil Dittisham Court – just a short stroll to the village and riverside. Sleeping up to six guests in three bedrooms, Riverview also benefits from its own private, grassy garden and allocated parking. From the open-plan kitchen and living area, the French doors open onto a private balcony with sublime views of the river and distant Dartmoor – also seen from the master bedroom, too. We're sorry, but pets are not allowed at Riverview.
Accommodation:
The front door opens into the ground floor hall with space for boots and coats. Two bedrooms on this floor overlook the garden. The first has a king-size bed, while the second is a bunk room, both with wardrobe and a chest of drawers for storage. The family bathroom is also on the ground floor with a bath, overhead shower and WC. Guests will also find the washer-dryer in the family bathroom.
Upstairs, there is the open-plan living space with a well-equipped kitchen, dining, and lounge areas. The cream kitchen is complete with a fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. The lounge area has two sofas, two armchairs, a wood burner, a TV and a DVD player. The dining table seats six and looks out over the garden and countryside towards the river via the patio doors out to a small balcony. There is additional seating on the balcony for enjoying a morning coffee with steps down to the garden.
Upstairs again takes you to the light and airy en-suite master bedroom in the eaves of the house, with a kingsize bed, blue-painted furniture, The en-suite has a bath with overhead shower. This floor also has an additional single bedroom available by request.
There's central heating and a wood burner for comfort (logs can be purchased locally).

Parking:
There is a loading bay at the front of the house with two allocated car parking spaces a few metres away.
Please note: the single bed is only available by request

Very Peaceful location, but also great for a cardio workout!
Fabulous views from upstairs windows and very relaxing location. Very steep hills in places, be warned, the walk via public footpath slightly easier when coming up the hill from the harbour. Water taxi into Dartmouth really convenient just ring or email them and they will pick you up from Dittisham. The Ferry boat inn has a limited menu but food is good quality beer a bit pricey though. Greenway is easily accessible via the ferry, just ring the bell!

River View
What we liked:
The view
Comfortable beds
The bottle of bubbly, and toilet rolls etc. left for us
What was not so good:
- The bed in the smallest room had not been made up and there was no bedding available to enable me to make it. I tried to call the Housekeeping Team using the number in the handbook but it said the number was unavailable. I eventually managed to speak to Julie at Dart Valley Cottages and although Julie did manage to sort out the issue in the end, I did feel as though I was the inconvenience which was a little disappointing! We were given sheets later that day and I made up the bed myself - there was no offer for anyone to make it.
- The shower in the upstairs bathroom is very difficult to use as you cannot stand up in the bath due to the ceiling sloping
- It looked as though the floor under the sofas hadn't been cleaned in a while (I wasn't on my hands and knees looking but you could see the detritus from the opposite seats)
- The floor of the bunk bed room was not particularly clean
- I was unable to open the window in the smallest room - this would be a real issue in hot weather
- The floor mats in the main living area have no grips on the bottom and were very slippery and potentially dangerous

We are sorry to hear that you encountered problems. There is an extra single bed on site but it is not actually included in the number of bedrooms which is listed as 3 or the max occupancy which is 6. It is quite a small room so could probably only suite a child which is why it is not advertised. However we do mention in the advert that there is a small room off the main room that can be used on request. I am glad that the team could resolve it for you and provide you with additional bedding. We will certainly get on with the maintenance that you mentioned and send over our handyman and will speak to the housekeeping team about the issues you raised. We do value your feedback and work constantly to improve all our properties and our guests experience. Best wishes

Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Communication

We are so sorry that your experience of this property was marred by the smell created by the oil delivery for the cottages heating systems. The delivery is deliberately done out of season but if the wind is in the wrong direction it can be quite strong. We would love you to return to see the village in its true splendour without the unfortunate odour created by the oil.

Riverview
Riverview perfect for family holidays. Top floor bedroom and bathroom for grandparents, ground floor bedrooms and bathroom for the rest of the family, ideal! Super place for younger children with lots of outdoor space and fields to let off steam. Crabbing down at the Quay keeps children amused for hours while parents, etc enjoy a leisurely pint or glass of wine from the riverside pub. Plenty of places to visit, Dartmouth within easy reach both by road and water! Dittisham is a delightful village, peaceful and quiet.

River view, Dittisham
We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again. Dittisham Court is brilliant as there are parking spaces which visitors to Dittisham will be aware are difficult to find.

Great location.
Riverview is a nice property in a great location with beautiful views of the River Dart with the added bonus of parking. For anyone who knows Dittisham this is a big plus.
It's also very reasonably priced for the area.
There were a few maintenance issues when we stayed though and the main bathroom could do with some attention which is a shame as we would definitely have stayed here again otherwise.

Lovely cottage in stunning village
Our 3rd visit to Riverview, and 12th to Dittisham. House has everything you need. Lovely views, and peace. Lots to do locally in Dartmouth and surrounding countryside. Great restaurants within walking distance - just know your tides. Can't recommend highly enough. Accommodation on 3 flours, so room to spread out.

Return visit to our favourite place
It was great to return to Dittisham - we love the village. It was great to spend time on the river again and to eat at the Ferryboat Inn. This was our first stay in Riverview - great views from upstairs and always a bonus to have private parking in the village. Our daughter loved having her own floor downstairs. Everything was well maintained and comfortable for our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed a very chilled week.

Excellent accommodation in peaceful and beautiful Dittisham. Perfect for crabbing and a short drive to Blackpool Sands. A visit to Dartmouth/Salcombe and Agatha Christie's home (Greenway) just across the river by ferry, a must.

Riverview Cottage, Dittisham
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Riverview. The cottage had beautiful views of the River Dart from both the main living area and the top floor bedroom and was very well situated to make the most of the pretty village of Dittisham. The grounds surrounding the property were enjoyed by our one year old grandson and were easily accessible from the back garden. The property was very comfortable and well equipped and had been cleaned to a high standard. The owner had left a bottle of prosecco in the fridge alongside fresh milk and a box of chocolates, which we fully appreciated. We will definitely be going back.

Beautiful cottage and well looked after by the owner. Lovely surprise to have a bunch of local flowers and a bottle of bubbly on arrival.
Lovely views and a treat to sit and enjoy the a glass looking over the Dart river. Enjoyed every minute.
I have used Dart Valley on three occasions previously and will do so again.
Thank you all

River retreat
Riverview is in a very pleasant and quiet location. We particularly enjoyed the garden with the deck chairs and would have used the barbeque if the weather had been slightly better. The cottage is very well equipped - we appreciated the stairgate with a toddler- and it felt more like a home from home than a holiday let.

Peaceful
The photo on the Web page doesn't do this house justice, the veiw from the bedroom at the top of the house is fantastic upriver along the Dart really stunning, in the mid summer evenings sunsets were great. The accommodation is really well equipped and comfortable. A very peaceful location, if you have young children a short walk (possibly half a mile) is the Ham, this also has great views of the Dart. I would definitely return as we liked it so much.

Riverview stay
A beautiful setting in a peaceful village. This property has all you would need for a lovely holiday. The area is stunning and the pubs and cafe in the village were great. However, it sleeps seven and we stayed only as a two. The living room space was fine for us but a party of seven will not as been as comfortable even if children were in the party . Our bed was very comfortable, the linen was beautiful. Cleanliness wise it was OK but felt it needed a deeper clean ie corners in the bathrooms and sides of furniture were dusty.
The lack of welcome pack was a slight downer when we arrived. We have stayed in numerous holiday homes and this is the first one ever where not even a welcome pint of milk was left. It's not about the goods, it's the feeling of greeting and welcome that we missed.
Thanks

Lovely cottage in scenic, peaceful location.
Enjoyed our stay in this spacious cottage with plenty of flexible sleeping space. 4 of us and a 1 year old. Large, bright and airy living area and the unexpected stair gate was a real bonus that we were not expecting but would have been difficult to manage without. It might be good to add something similar on the steps down from the balcony. It was nice to have a garden and the surrounding accessible land was lovely, especially the orchard. Kitchen had everything we needed and beds were very comfortable. Beautiful area to explore, very nice lunches at Sharpham Vineyard and The River Shack at Stoke Gabriel was a pleasant experience with great staff.

My favourite place to stay.
This was my fourth stay at Riverview. It is ideally situated for glorious walks and visiting attractions. Riverview itself is fully equipped with everything you could want making it an excellent cottage, and lovely to come back to after an energetic day walking the many beautiful paths. Lovely views down to the river and a pretty garden. Dittisham is an area of outstanding natural beauty, peaceful and friendly, a very stunning village with its undulating landscape. I am already planning my next stay at Riverview.
