Prince Rupert is a unique 5-bedroom house, sleeping 12 on the private Red House Estate between York and Harrogate and is ideal for social gatherings and family groups. You will have a unique experience of living in the West Wing of an historic Yorkshire house - on an estate with beautiful tranquil gardens, shared, seasonal swimming pool, tennis court and croquet lawn and many footpaths to enjoy. Located superbly to take advantage of York, Harrogate/Knaresborough, the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales and all the facilities that Yorkshire can offer.

The kitchen is well equipped with a range cooker, microwave oven, double height fridge and separate freezer as well as a coffee machine. Alongside the kitchen is a good sized utility room with washing machine and dryer and additional storage.

The separate dining room seats 12. Guests in the past have used local companies to have that special meal cooked.

The spacious sitting room boasts a large wood burning stove and French windows lead out to an enclosed west-facing garden with barbeque and seating.

For those less mobile, there is a downstairs bathroom with shower and bath. Alongside it is a double bedroom accessible from the front door without any steps .

Upstairs sleeping accommodation :-
Bedroom 1 - SuperKing size (can be converted to twin if pre-arranged) + single with en-suite shower room

Bedroom 2 - King size + single with bathroom opposite

Bedroom 3 - Super King size (can be converted to twin if pre-arranged) with ensuite bathroom

Bedroom 4 - King size with ensuite shower room

Bedroom 5 downstairs - Super King (can be converted to twin if pre-arranged) with next door bathroom/shower room

In season guests also have shared use of the 15m outdoor swimming pool, the grass tennis court and croquet lawn. The estate's extensive gardens and grounds are a delight, even in winter.

There is dedicated parking next to the front door.

The perfect base, conveniently situated just off the A59, 15 minutes from the A1, from where to explore all North Yorkshire has to offer, whether it's the medieval city of York just 8 miles away, (park and ride 10 minutes away), the spa town of Harrogate or the vibrant city of Leeds. If the countryside appeals, the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales National Park are nearby. Or simply stroll through the estate gardens exploring the small 17th century chapel as you go.

Well located for famous annual Yorkshire events like the Ebor Races, the Harrogate Flower Shows and the Great Yorkshire Show.

Whatever the season, it is a short walk from the front door to the River Ouse where public footpaths provide scenic walks. In the winter tuck up in front of the large log burner after a day out in York or Harrogate or exploring the countryside.
