About this property

Waterfront With It’s Own Private Sandy Beach

Surrounded on three sides by over three thousand of acres of open space and set on a knoll over it’s own ( only for this home) sandy beach the house has view across the quiet ( no motor craft allowed) clear waters of 150 acre Wincheck Pond. Excellent swimming off the gradual incline of the beach . Enjoy kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding with the provided water craft off the 850 feet of the property's water frontage. Hiking is beautiful with Ell Pond, the only location in RI to be on the National Register of Natural Places ,1/2 mile from the house .1/2 hour from the Westerly or Charlestown beaches , Mystic Seaport , Mystic Aquarium , Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun .
It is highly recommended that you purchase trip insurance as bookings are non-refundable. Maximum 7 person overnight occupancy with no more than 10people allowed on the property at one time without making prior arrangements.

The property is beautiful and very private. The private beach, dock, and swimming raft are great for kids and swimming. The view from the patio and rear of the house is amazing. I also enjoyed some pretty good fishing from the kayaks and canoe.

Our stay, which included 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren was absolutely awesome. It is obvious that Bill goes above and beyond to make sure you have the best stay possible. We enjoyed the sandy beach with plenty of beach chairs, kayaking, fishing, swimming, as well as just relaxing on the patio, enjoying the view, the firepit and the absolute peacefulness of the area. We all agreed this was a hidden gem and well worth a return trip.

This Lake House is just what we hoped for! Built in 1900 with all the comforts of 2026 makes this cottage very charming, And the incredible water viewsit's almost like you are on a boat! Speaking of watercrafts, there's paddle boards, kayaks, and a canoe! Our favorite part? The clear beautiful lake and swimming to the raft. The host responds quickly to answer any questions. We recommend this spot very highly!

My second time going there with some friends. Really just a beautiful setting. The private beach is amazing as well as all of the kayaks and paddle boards. A great place to unwind and relax. Definitely plan on bringing my kids for a stay here as it is a great place for families.

We had a relaxing long weekend at the lake house. Well appointed house with great lake access. Enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boards, and fire pit on the beach. The property was also very close to several nice hiking trails. Quiet nights and starry sky. Serenity.

An unbelievable vacation rental, it almost feels like a movie set. Bill has clearly put so much love and care into creating a perfect, peaceful paradise, and he tops it all off with access to so many great amenities. We used the canoe, went fishing, and were swimming in the clear warm water every chance we got. The sand is clean and soft, and the shallow water is perfect for small kids. The house itself is very well appointed. The kitchen is filled with high quality cookware. The beds were super comfortable. Everything was perfect. 10/10.

My family (3 adults, 2 young children) spent five wonderful spring days here. In the mornings, we enjoyed looking at the beautiful water from the living room or the beach, digging or reading. In the afternoons, we explored the area, visiting family friendly activities like Mystic Seaport, the Pequot Museum, and Roger Williams Botanical Garden. In the evenings, we cooked in the fully stocked kitchen. The beds were comfortable, the setting was remote and quiet, and it was a great getaway.

Perfect Family vacation

This was our second time staying at the lake house and we are very happy that we returned. The house with private beach is perfect for young kids. It’s absolutely beautiful with so many things to do.

This was such a serene and relaxing place to stay. We loved exploring the trails and spending time on the water, and my son especially enjoyed bringing bread to the dock each morning to feed the fish. It was exactly what we needed—a peaceful getaway to recharge before heading back to school.

Best vacation spot ever!

This is the second time we stayed at this location and it was just as amazing this time as it was the first. My son loved it so much that he rented it with his family last year as well. We hope to make this a family tradition, as it’s close to home, yet definitely feels like paradise.

The location is wonderful. The beach is perfect for little kids. There are kayaks, a paddle board, and life jackets for hours of fun. It’s close enough to Mystic to be able to go to the aquarium and museums. Bill and Alison were very helpful and attentive hosts.

Everything Listed and More!

This was one of the better stays we’ve had! The area was beautiful, the house and property were as pictured and better than listed, and we thoroughly enjoyed reconnecting. The house and area had the best of both worlds—everything you’d want for an analog stay/relax, but internet and amenities for the modern world. We loved our time there and will gladly go back!
