If you don't feel like cooking, you can order breakfast in our small restaurant, which only has 16 seats, for € 6, - and a 3-course menu for € 9, - to € 12, - per person. From your cottage you have a view of Lough Allua, a fish-rich 10km long lake that you can explore with our boats and canoes. We also rent bicycles, single and double seater canoes and offer riding lessons and rides on our two horses Beamish and Feilim, 2 relaxed "Irish Cobs".

Bonefish Haven is a wonderful place to stay! It has several amenities my family and I utilized to enhance our vacation. It is in a great location, with gorgeous views and a terrific patio area! Just beware, you may not want to leave! :)

Thank you for your nice review Julian.Bonefish Haven sounds like a good business name too,but it may confuse the odd guest….main thing you have enjoyed your stay . Hope to welcome you again at some stage …
Check your GPS because coming over the hills is difficult. The apartment was compact but had all that was required. The sofa was uncomfortable but we slept well.It was a fishing lodge deep in the country so off beat rather than luxurious.Bring your own towels, they are not provided.
It is a very pretty cottage from the outside although small 'and perfectly formed' on the inside. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Everything we needed was in the cottage although there is no room for an oven.
Although not fishermen, we found the area ideal for exploring and reaching tourist spots. Every bend had a magnificent view. A must to visit is Garinish Island. We had a warm welcome and delicious evening meal, caught by Greg. The cottage was tiny but cosy and had everything we needed. Thoroughly recommend this location and hosts
The cottage is located in a quiet area, perfect for relaxation, our little boy loved the surrounding area where he could see horses and other farm animals. As soon as we arriveed there was somebody to show us around. Overall an wonderful experience.
Nice and clean and everything was provided for self-catering. Greg and Ziggy were very friendly and did not interfere with you in any way. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the bed was so comfy 😋. My Rating: 10/10 Eugene

Good quality for the price. A little out of the way.
The location is perfect to have a quiet stay and enjoy some walks. The host, Greg, is available and propose several services.
At our arrival our house was extremely humid and cold and if you want to use the heating you have to pay for it. Toilet paper is also at your charges.

Hello Alice , thank you for your 4 stars , I guess all in all you have had a good time . The July of 2023 goes down as the wettest on record , and yes , the central gas heating in all of our cottages is in use at times in most Irish summers . Your gas bill came up at just under €5,-for your 4 night stay , which incl.the gas rings for cooking and the hot water .The fact that we charge €4,- per Kubik meter gas is documented in the add and should have been known to you . .Furthermore we supply 2 rolls of toilet paper per cottage free of charge and ask our guests to buy their own supply after that if required , not because we can not afford to throw in a 3rd or 4th roll , but for the fact that before we had this arrangement in place , people would get you out of the bed in the middle of the night to ask for a roll of toilet paper .Multiply this by 20 guests …..
Where to begin with the very long list of issues.
We booked for 6 nights but it was SO BAD we left after just 1 night.
The property was described as having " From your cottage you have a view of Lough Allua", there were no lake views unless you walked half a mile down the lane a peered through the trees to get a brief glimps of the lake.
When we opened the door we were hit by an overwhelming smell of air freshers that we found were there to cover what smelt like animal urin smell throughout the property including the bed and bedding.
The TV has around 80+ channels but they were just about all German language channels with just a couple of English ones. Even if you wanted to watch the TV you couldn't as the remote control was broken on mute.
The leather sofa had a throw over it which also smelt but was there to cover the large hole in the sofa
The toilet seat was damaged.
The bathroom sink was cracked.
The kitchen sink tap had a constant slow drip.
Not sure what it was but there was something growing on the bathroom wall.
We'd booked to have dinner in the "small restaurant" which turned out to be an old conservatory on the back of the owners house. When we arrived we asked for a menu but were told we would be served whatever they had decided to cook that day. Greg then came out to "serve" our food, his hands were black with oil and grease. He informed us that he had just been rebuilding a boat engine, hence the oily hands.
I'm not sure I can descibe how horrible it was

Dear Graham , your review is a mix of blatant lies ,exaggerations, and a lot of false.accusations trying to damage our good name .None of our guests staying before and after your short stay at the same cottage witnessed any of the issues you have listed and some of them like the problems you have had with the brand new Smart TV could have been solved by simply talking to us…You have arrived in style in your Mercedes Cabriolet and your wife beside you dressed up as Grace Kelly did not seem to want to leave the car , as she became aware that this wasn’t the Cannes Film festival and the red carpet was missing too .The thatched cottage you have booked is well over 200 years old and has one major issue- it is situated out in the middle of nowhere and not in Killarney or Kinsale, which is no secret and can be looked up online .So you ended up in the wrong film and left without any notice early in the morning without paying the bill for your 3 course dinner you had the night before. You should be ashamed of your disgraceful behaviour
