Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, despite the rainy weather.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, despite the rainy weather. The property is as detailed in the listing with a separate toilet downstairs as well as one in the upstairs bathroom. The view from the balcony overlooking the garden is lovely. We were here in February and the property is kept nice and warm by the ample radiators.Good local guides of the area available in the property and we would recommend the takeaway or restaurant Spice Villa

Beautiful spot , surrounded by trees and a beautiful garden , although there is alot of traffic noise as it's on a corner of a fairly busy road, but it didn't bother us too much, apart from, if its warm, you can't have your windows open in the bedroom, we tried it and it's very noisy, so stick the fan on supplied in your room. .The cottage itself is really lovely, much bigger than I thought, with a lovely balcony to sit on with a private view. The owner was lovely ,left a bottle of wine, unfortunately we don't drink ,so a bottle of milk and a few bits would have been better ,we had to go out again after a very long drive to fetch milk , although later the owner found out and came over with a cup of milk, which was nice of him .My only complaint would be, it's very dusty , lots of cobwebs, especially on the balcony , but the kitchen and bathroom surfaces were very clean etc , and it's very nicely decorated. Perfect location for the many beaches, pubs, cafe etc. One thing I'd say is the stairs up to the lounge from the kitchen are extremely steep ,my little dog couldn't get down them he kept slipping as they are wood not carpet (which would be better and safer) so I had to carry him up and down the entire holiday and watch him to make sure he didn't fall down them . Maybe a bigger dog could manage better .But overall the place is nice and we had a great time, and would definitely recommend.

Omg this place was absolutely amazing! It was home from home and more.
Omg this place was absolutely amazing! It was home from home and more. Anything you need is there. It is very comfortable and relaxing. Most places eg town/ supermarket are a 5/10 minutes drive away and the beach is approximately 15 mins away. The Beehive is a perfect comfortable base. If you have dogs they have beds, treats, dishes, poo bags .... Everything! We had lots of lovely days out and nights in, we wouldn't hesitate recommending the Beehive to anyone, we will certainly be booking it again.

We stayed here for Christmas week and had an amazing time.
We stayed here for Christmas week and had an amazing time. It was just what we needed. The owners were very helpful and the accommodation was very clean. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The only thing that we would change is to put a dressing table in the bedroom so you can do your hair in front of a mirror but apart from that it was perfect in every way.

The bee hive was a lovely place.
The bee hive was a lovely place. Very clean and had everything you needed for a family holiday. The Owners onsite could not do enough for you.
It was pet friendly but you are expected to crate your pets when left at the bee hive. This is ok if your pets are used to being created. The secure area at the back of the lodge for dogs is not secure and you could not leave your dog in here unless it was tethered. Which we did do but our dog was not really happy as he could hear people but could not see anyone which made him a little unsettled. Also the children of the owners likes to keep looking at the dog where he was tethered which kind of teased him. We ended tethering to a tree when we was at the lodge so he could see what was going on around him.
The family were very friendly but i would not recommend this property if you have dogs that do not like children as the family have the children.
That being said this family done everything they could to make our stay very comfortable and enjoyable
What would make this property better would be a fence all around it so that you could let your dogs out and know they could not run off

We had a wonderful long weekend in the tranquility of the bee hive with our 5 month old puppy, Cleo.
We had a wonderful long weekend in the tranquility of the bee hive with our 5 month old puppy, Cleo. Location is very close to a wealth of doggy friendly attractions and great walks.
The cottage and its surrounding garden was super clean and welcoming with some very thoughtful touches such as throws, dog beds, crate and treats. The owners are just across the drive and are very friendly and hospitable. They also are very animal friendly, which was appreciated, as this was our first attempt at a holiday with a pup in training (once she had confidence in her new surroundings, she was keen to explore their garden as well.....)
We would definitely consider coming back again, it’s a charming getaway with everything you need to relax and unwind. Highly recommended!

A lovely spacious cottage with great facilities - we really loved sitting on the balcony overlooking the garden watching the birds on the feeder. Everything was very clean, the kitchen is well equipped and the games room is an added bonus.
Carol and Rob are great hosts, very friendly and helpful. And Carol is a great baker!
The Beehive is very convenient for Lyme Regis and the coast, and Forde Abbey is a great afternoon out.
We were unable to bring our dog this time, but he would definitely have enjoyed it - there are plenty of great walks, and Carol provides a dog bed, biscuits, and even a dog tag with her phone number - a great idea!
We will definitely book again when we return to the area.
