About this property
Loved by families & groups - spacious villa, scenic, air con, gym, pool
Looking for a relaxing, authentic Italian experience while spending some fun time with family and friends? Casale Iris is ideal for groups and families, offering unforgettable holidays in stylish and comfortable surroundings in two separate units. Our house is also fully air conditioned.
Things to do:
Active holiday: For those who want to be active we offer a 12x4 outdoor pool, a fitness room with 2 machines and yoga/Pilates equipment, and walking or running options right at the doorstep. We also offer volleyball and badminton equipment.
Sightseeing and activities: Casale Iris is just 25 minutes from the coast, and about 35 minutes from the Sibillini mountains. This means you can pursue all kinds of outdoor activities, for example biking, trekking, watersports, swimming and horseriding. Book a local spa day or a boat excursion to explore the beautiful Conero riviera.
Accommodation:
Casale Iris is a stylish 7 bed 6 bath traditional 18th century farmhouse cottage, newly renovated, with all mod cons (air conditioning, dishwasher), divided into two apartments with separate entrances, of which one is on the ground floor with easy access. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms (2 shower, 1 full bath) in the lower apartment and four bedrooms and three bathrooms, as well as a separate toilet in the upper apartment (2 shower, 1 full bath). There are three ensuite bedrooms in the house with shower.
From our large terrace you have wonderful 360-views of mountains and rolling hills, dotted with ancient hilltop villages. Our large swimming pool (12x4m) for your exclusive use is set in a private orchard. The property is fully fenced, suitable for children, and there is no through road, so it's quiet, with private parking for several vehicles. Access is on a paved road, close to numerous excellent restaurants which are referenced in our guide.
Each of the two self-contained units has a fully equipped indoor kitchen and living/dining room. There is also an outdoor kitchen with grill for those who prefer to barbecue and two covered terraces for outdoor dining. NEW: We have just created a fitness room in the garden for your exclusive use with a spin bike and an elliptical as well as yoga and Pilates equipment.
There are fly screens on all the windows and the house is fully air conditioned.
Amenities:
It is a short drive to a number of coastal towns (Cupra Marittima, Porto San Giorgio, Grottammare, Porto Sant Elpidio) with plenty of restaurants, cafes, pizzerias and ice cream parlours. Within 5 minute drive from the house you can find at least four excellent restaurants serving local cuisine and a popular farm shop. All surrounding villages have food shopping, ATMs and post office. Along the coast you can find very large shopping centres, outlets with shoes and leather goods, and fine clothing boutiques.
How to get here:
The nearest airport is Ancona (1 hour), served by Ryanair and Lufthansa. Other airports are Rimini, Rome and Bologna/Forli, all a 2-3 hour drive. You can rent a car at Ancona Airport.
Recommended activities:
Mountain biking in the Sibillini National Park
Cycling along the coastal path (for example from Cupra Marittima to San Benedetto del Tronto), 14 km
Windsurfing, yachting and sailing, canoeing at Lake Fiastra
Riviera del Conero (45 minute drive), famous wild beaches, for example in Sirolo (Due Sorelle Beach), hiking and horseriding

About the host
Hosted by Michaela Heigl
We are hard-working executives from the software industry who have always enjoyed Mediterranean holidays in beautiful countryside properties. We purchased this property in 2019 from the previous owners, who had run a small rental business for the ground floor unit only, and fully renovated the whole house for the purpose of letting it to guests from all over the world. We always improve our offering following feedback from guests, and we love reading their comments and suggestions.
Why they chose this property
An absolutely gorgeous property with lovely gardens in quiet countryside with great views. The beautiful region of the Marche offers so much to the visitor: wonderful landscapes, historic hilltop villages, bustling seaside resorts, and very good food wherever you go. It is also very affordable and welcoming. Even in the summer it is not overrun, and the mid-and low seasons are a great time to explore the region, go trekking, cycling, and sightseeing. Casale Iris is located on its own hill, which means it has a 360 degree view of hills and villages, and the sunsets are spectacular. It offers peace and relaxation, whilst providing access to excellent restaurants and charming hill villages within a few minutes' drive. Art lovers, nature and water sports enthusiasts, or those looking for a slower pace of life are well served in this welcoming and authentic region.
What makes this property unique
Casale Iris is very popular with families and groups. It has two independent units with separate entrances, of which one is entirely on the ground floor. This unit is ideal for grandparents and families with small children. Both units have fully equipped kitchens, sitting rooms, and their own terraces. This means that groups of two families can enjoy privacy while spending time together. All the rooms are air conditioned except for our smallest bedroom on the ground floor. Families appreciate the six bathrooms and one toilet room, the seven bedrooms, the spacious gardens with trees and bushes, and the lovely pool. The summer kitchen with Argentinian grill, refrigerator and cooker is in constant use for big family dinners. Casale Iris offers absolute peace and quiet, while being reasonably close to many good restaurants, and not too far from shopping and the blue-flag beaches of the Adriatic sea.
