This was the perfect weekend getaway in Hendersonville. It was quiet, conveniently located, and so much space for the price. We really enjoyed the free coffee as well.
Just as described and listed vbro. We celebrated my mom's 70th birthday and she really enjoyed the house and the furniture. It was a perfect spot for her celebration. Process was easy and Elisabeth was a great host!
On the whole it’s a lovely place, all the necessities are on hand although a few extra bowls or serving dishes would be a plus. Only wish that the porch furniture, especially the cushions, were in better shape and there was a possibility of muffling the street sounds during the day so conversation on the porch was easier.
We have stayed in many vacation rentals& this property was hands-down the cleanest & most welcoming. All 4 of us commented how there wasn’t a spec of dust, scuff on the wall, cobwebs…that we’ve seen in other rentals. They had books/brochures/etc of things to do places to go from a local perspective.
The property had a European, cozy feel. We had two sets of couples, so it was nice that each bedroom had its own full bathroom.
We really liked the host’s electronic information portal that made finding important information, simple-from check-in & check-out procedures, WiFi name & password, door code,-all in one place, easy to navigate via tabs, etc. All the info we needed was so easily accessible on our phones. Highly recommend.
The first thing you see is the beautiful exterior of this historic stone building with an incredible covered porch. Then you walk in and the unit itself is just incredible. Very nicely decorated, spacious and clean. We appreciated the holiday decorations very much. We were there for the Christmas holiday.
My husband, granddaughter and I stayed here Thanksgiving week to be close to other family members in Hendersonville. This guest house is well-located, very clean and furnished with all that we needed. I highly recommend it.
Great cottage. Very comfortable with plenty of room.
Everything went very smoothly and this property is excellent for short stay.
Could use a washer/ dryer for longer stays.

Very nice 2-bedroom lower unit with full kitchen.
They left us with fresh ground coffee (but no cream or sugar), and a bottle of white wine, which was very nice.
It would have been nice to have more than 2 bath towels.
Very clean, quiet, and comfortable. We enjoyed staying here!
Quirky but beautifully decorated. Convenient to everything the surrounding area offers. No washer dryer if that is needed. TV stations very limited, didn’t bother us. Kitchen and dining area was nice. We will return!!
The purpose of our trip was to visit the Biltmore, but we would have loved to have stayed longer. This is a beautiful house which makes you feel very much at home.
Although the weather was terrible while we were in Hendersonville, the home was warm and cozy. We had everything we needed and Elisabeth was super quick to respond when we had questions or an issue. She even brought us a bottle of wine from a local vineyard when there was a small problem that she had to come check on.
The house was just right for us and our friends to share for a get-away weekend. We would happily rent again!
This place is a real haven. Exquisitely decorated and a cool history in a historic building. And close enough to drive to downtown Hendersonville shops.
Of the houses I have stayed, this had the most class!! Both Mama and I were impressed by the attention to detail and personality that this place has. Thank you Ms. Elisabeth for the wonderful accommodations. We loved the Biltmore House at Christmas and your help with our visit to Asheville. The house was immaculate and the Christmas decorations added to the festive time of our visit. Can’t wait to bring our visit back in the Springtime to see the countryside with all the colors that the season brings. Appreciation and love for the stay!
My husband and I stayed here with another couple and the arrangements were perfect. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, giving us equal accommodations and comfort. We were out most of the time while in town but enjoyed our late evenings and early mornings in the living room. Would’ve liked a second couch for lounging and comfort but were not hindered in relaxing and visiting. The home is beautifully decorated and includes much history throughout including a book about the origination of the property. The owners graciously provided local attraction information and a sweet welcome gift. The location is perfectly placed to visit Hendersonville as well as Sierra Nevada and Biltmore.
Elisabeth's place was homey and welcoming. The layout was perfect, and it was spotless! We would rent it again!

Perfect Getaway
Brightwater Garden is a beautifully decorated cottage with all the necessary amenities, high end linens and towels and impeccably clean. Location is great too. Elisabeth provided a book with things to do in the area, which we used when planning our day. We enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed longer. We highly recommend and would stay here again when we visit the area.

One of our new favorite places!
Who knew Hendersonville was such a gem of a destination?? We loved this beautiful garden lower-level apartment for our family of four getaway this past weekend. Such a haven, beautifully decorated with a rich history, and perfect for our needs. We'll definitely be coming back and might try upstairs next. :) Looks like a cool place, too!

What a great place to come home to!!
I stayed at this property on very short notice when traveling to Hendersonville for a family emergency. I am a frequent VRBO-renter in Hendersonville, but none of my usual places were available. Turns out, it could not have worked out better! Everything about the experience was perfect- and I mean EVERYTHING. Elisabeth was so accommodating and kind. I told her that I was to arrive after midnight and she made sure that there were plenty of lights inside and out so I didn't have to fumble about to get inside. And, there was a delicious little cake waiting (I was starving, so that was amazing!). So welcoming! As for the home, I can truly say that pictures don't do it justice. The house is beautiful, the rooms are large, the beds and linens are top quality, the decor is lovely. The kitchen is well appointed (even tho' the only thing I used was one wine glass...don't judge me :) In addition to tending to my family emergency, I had to work remotely and the wi-fi was fast and reliable. Even simple creature comforts - like a really good hair dryer, good water pressure in the shower, an uncomplicated front-door lock, a simplified check-out process, a lovely outdoor front porch - made it feel like home at the end of several very stressful days. The location is very pretty and just minutes from everything I needed.
Thank you, Elisabeth, for your kind hospitality. You made a difficult trip so much more enjoyable, and I appreciate your consideration. I will definitely return!

Brightwaters Stone Home Rental
The home was beautifully appointed, clean and extremely comfortable. It was wonderful and more than exceeded our expectations. The living areas were very nice as were the bedrooms. Elisabeth had all kinds of information available on area attractions and responded immediately to any questions via email or phone. She provided excellent suggestions regarding the dining choices in the area. Top notch service. We will definitely be going there again in the future!

About the host
Hosted by Elisabeth Perez
Hi Everyone, I'm an avid mountain biker and hiker. I love the mountains and invite you to enjoy them too. As the owner of Brightwaters Vacation Rentals, (several cabins, cottages and the historic Guesthouse) I take great pride in creating a home away from home for my guests and, as a host, I've met a lot of great people. I'm happy to share my knowledge and experience with you when you visit Western North Carolina.
Why they chose this property
Brightwaters, established in 1938, has a celebrated history. Today, the fully renovated flats (Garden level and the upstairs Verandah level) offer guests all of the comforts of an elegant Southern home. Each flat is a complete home - 1200-1500 sq. ft., offering large, airy rooms.
And to celebrate the home's 80th birthday, book 3 nights and get the 3rd night for only $80 through May 24, 2018!
The Brightwaters Guesthouse was originally built in 1938 as an 8 bedroom, 6 bathroom guesthouse. The founder, Samuel Childs, built the Brightwaters Guesthouse and Lodge and Dining Room, as well as 25 cottages on his 400 acres, in the surrounding area. The entire resort was called Brightwaters Estates, and was frequented by guests, primarly from Florida, looking to escape the summer heat and enjoy the cool, mountain air. On the grounds of the Guesthouse, Childs renovated an 1800's one-room schoolhouse to make it the dining hall for guests staying at the Guesthouse and the surrounding cottages.
In the 1970's, the Guesthouse was renovated into 2 flats (one upstairs and one downstairs). Each flat had 2 bedrooms/2 baths, a living room, a dining and a kitchen. And the former, interior staircase was removed.
Today, the Brightwaters Guesthouse takes back it's original name and has been refreshed and restored to it's former glory, exposing the refinished hardwood floors and tongue and groove paneling. The Brightwaters Guesthouse offer guests the opportunity to step back in time and enjoy it's timeless elegance.
The Garden level flat is a great house for getting away to enjoy the outdoors. Very close to all of the best mountain biking and hiking trails - DuPont, Pisgah, Bent Creek and Mills River. Accommodates a maximum of 4 people. Minutes to grocery and restaurants. Only 11 miles from the Asheville Airport. The Brighwaters Guesthouse is centrally located to dining, breweries and entertainment in Hendersonville, Brevard and Asheville, as well as other areas, such as Tryon.
What makes this property unique
Brightwaters: Garden is on a private, multi-home property.
