We enjoyed our stay here very much. The apartment is in a great location, close to all the things we wanted to see in Edinburgh. The host was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!
Great place to stay! Check-in process was seamless, and communication from property management was timely and very helpful. Property was clean and had everything we needed. The location was farther away from the old town than the description/map on VRBO indicated, but it was still a wonderful place to stay!

This place has an excellent location, within 15-30 min easy walk to all the attractions such as the Royal Mile, the Edinburgh Castle, shops, etc. The place is clean, the kitchen has everything we need to prepare a simple meal. We really enjoy the stay.
Super easy access! Rooms were great, location was good… not close to the Mile/Castle but very safe and easy transportation to everything. Definitely would rent again!
This was a great place and in a great location. The property is clean and it is exactly as described in the pictures and detailed description. There are so many shops and places to eat around within walking distance. If we come to Scotland again, we will look up this place!

Great apartment in great neighborhood and great location.
The 20 minute walk from the train station, past the Castle, into neighborhood was a great way to start our stay in Edinburgh. The apartment is very close to grocery store, bars, restaurants and coffee shops. Easy walk to the Castle, museums and the Royal Botanic Gardens. Hard to imagine a better location. And the apartment is clean and very comfortable.

Great location within walking distance of Old Town, Princes Street, restaurants and shopping. Parking on street is expensive and time restricted between 0830-1830 but free overnight. We found prebooking the car into the NCP Edinburgh Castle parkade for a lower daily rate was our best bet.
It was a great stay. Upon arrival our cab left us at another location very nearby which can be mistaken for this one but we got in contact with Rebecca and everything was solved. It is a very cosy apartment with great windows and full of light.

We enjoyed the apartment and location. The bed were really comfortable, they had supplies for us there, it was very welcoming. I will say the location listed—Holyrood is not the actual location of the apartment. It made it really confusing when going to the apartment. When I asked about this I was simply told to read the email they sent and that was the address. The location was not where I wanted it, but it still worked out.
We loved our stay at Hotel Around Town's Edinburgh apartment. It was the perfect fit for our family. My younger kids loved the bunkbeds and my older teen loved the twin bed rooms. Everything is up to date with all the modern conveniences. We were there during a "hot spell" and thought it was so perfect that the apartment has full shutters to block out light while we were gone during the day. It was perfect!
The location is ideal since Edinburgh is such a gorgeous walkable city. It was 10 minutes away from great shopping, 7 minutes to my work location, and only 15 minutes away from a gorgeous cinema and new mall.
The views out of the apartment were gorgeous also. We absolutely loved our time. The staff was very courteous and communicative!

I will start with the positives. It’s in a lovely location and had plenty of room for a family of 5 to spread out. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, and yet was close enough to Old Town and Dean Village to walk. Also super convenient to the West End tram station for quickly getting anywhere. The host was also very responsive, so I’m sure they would have remedied the following issues had I pushed the issue… but unfortunately the main bathroom was dirty. Mold and mildew was in the shower that could have easily been cleaned. The only amenity in the bathroom was a nearly empty bottle of hand soap. No shampoo or bath soap was provided. We had to make a trip to the store to get all amenities that was supposed to have been there. The dishes were also not thoroughly cleaned. There was dried food on two of the bowls. A close look around showed that the entire flat was in need of a deep cleaning.

Disappointed that host did not follow up with problems
I was concerned about my stay before I left, as I had read other online reviews that weren’t positive. The lights in the hall leading up to circular stairs did not work. I was assured that they would be working when I arrived as my stay was a month after the bad review. We arrived with no lights. It was very dangerous and a downright safety hazard. I contacted the host who apologized and said matter would be taken care of right away. I was there for a week and it didn’t work the day I left. Also, master bathroom didn’t seem to be cleaned. Someone else’s dark long hairs were all over the place. I contacted host and was told that the cleaning crew would be contacted immediately. No response from cleaners. I ended up cleaning myself.
It’s a shame that this host is not responsive. I would definitely NOT recommend any property managed by this host.
Unfortunately our first impression of the rental was poor. As soon as we retrieved the keys and opened the hallway entry door we noticed it was filled with a pile of trash. The smell was horrible and even after we removed it ourselves, the smell did not dissipate for many days. It was a shared hallway with another unit but we were unclear why the cleaner left things in this condition. The lights in the hallway were also broken so it was very dark navigating the narrow stairs. We had to use our phone lights to see the key holes. Paint was peeling off the walls. We were told the lights would be repaired but it did not occur during our stay. Once inside the unit things were much cleaner and brighter. It is very spacious with plenty of room for familiies to spread out. The neighborhood is very convenient with many pubs, restaurants, and grocery. The tram station is just minutes away. We did notice that it was difficult to keep the windows open because the street below was loud and there were food smells coming from the nearby restaurants. Not totally unpleasant but we eventually decided to just keep the windows closed. Some of the living room furniture was a bit dated and uncomfortable. We noticed that it would be helpful to have hooks by the door as there was nowhere to hang up coats from the rain. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and were able to walk many places throughout Edinburgh.
This apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood very close to New Town and about a 20-25 minute walk to the Royal Mile. It’s a very good location with stores and restaurants near by. The apartment itself is ok. It’s clean. The furniture is well-used but adequate. Kitchen equipped well enough. The primary en suite is very nice with a comfortable bed and great bathroom. The other two bedrooms are not great. One has two very narrow twin beds and the other has bunk beds that are rickety (shaky), all with lumpy mattresses. Both ok for little kids but not great for adults. Apartment up a winding staircase. Host/property manager responded quickly.
