Cherry Tree Cottage is set is in the idyllic village of Briston.
Situated near the edge of Briston village near Melton Constable is the very cosy Cherry Tree Cottage. The name of the cottage sets the tone for a lovely place to stay for a holiday in Norfolk. The mix of red brick and flint on the exterior gives it an old cottage feel.
When you enter the cottage by the red door, you walk into the nice sized living room. This room has neutral decor with a beautiful red feature wall where the log burner is located. This gives the room a warm cosy feel whilst still feeling spacious.
The living room has two 2-seater quality sofas, a TV and a log burning stove. It is perfect for out of peak season evenings when you want to curl up and relax indoors after exploring all the wonders that Norfolk has to offer.
Off this room comes the stone-tiled dining room, perfect for family meals, comfortably seating 4 and with another wood burner. Imagine sitting around the dining table with good food and wine, with the log burner lit in the background. Perfect for spending time with friends or family.
Leading from the dining room comes the well-equipped kitchen, also with a stone floor. Decorated in a light pastel yellow with half stone tiled walls, providing a cosy cottage feel.
You’ll have everything here that you need to have a comfortable stay as possible, with a fridge, freezer, oven, gas hobs, dishwasher, microwave, toaster plus tableware and cooking utensils.
Just off the kitchen is the bathroom. It has an over the shower bath, lavatory, sink and also benefits from an enclosed washing machine, so you are able to refresh your wardrobe.
Up the stairs is where all 3 bedrooms are located. The first 2 bedrooms on your left are the single bedded rooms. They both mirror each other in their decor and fittings. They have beautiful dark wood floors, drawers for clothing, bedside units and 2 windows, one of which is a skylight so you are able to stare up at the stars as you fall asleep. Across the hallway is the double bedded room which again has dark wood floors, a comfortable iron bed with cupboards, bedside units and a TV. This room overlooks the front of the property.
Due to their decor, the bedrooms really do provide a cosy and warm cottage feel.
The garden is located at the back and accessed from the kitchen door. There is a paved patio area with seating areas, one for some alfresco dining on warm summer evenings. There is also a 2 seater wooden lounger which, again, is perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine and a good book to enjoy the quiet garden.
There is also a lawn area that leads up to a smaller decking area in the corner which is great for catching the last sunlight of the day.
Within the village, there is a bakery, butcher’s shop, fishmonger, a grocer’s and a mini-market with Post Office. There are two public houses in the village. On the outskirts of the village is the Three Horseshoes, a 16th-century inn with open log fire and oak beams. In the centre of the village is the former Green Man pub, which has now re-opened as the Explorers Bar.

Thank you for letting us stay in this nice property. The location is excellent. The WiFi and Sky TV is very good. The host was receptive and communicative. I feel that the property could use some updating eg. the taps drip a fair bit and the First Aid box is out of date.
Cherry Tree Cottage is a lovely place to stay.
It is in a perfect quiet location, ideally situated to unwind and to explore North Norfolk.
The cottage itself is charming and welcoming, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom are well equipped. The enclosed garden was great for the dog who loved the stone floor to cool down in the heat!
All in all, a relaxing stay in a lovely cottage in a beautiful part of England.

Lovely cottage, fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The information packs provided were very comprehensive and helpful. The front and back garden was beautifully kept, adding to the charm of the property. Inside, the single bedrooms were bright, spotlessly clean, and the beds very comfortable. There was great attention to detail throughout – including a thoughtful welcome gift on arrival. Basic essentials like salt and pepper, dishwasher tablets, and cleaning products were all provided, which was a really helpful touch. The neighbours were also very friendly. Highly recommended!
Lovely cosy cottage, well equipped, good to sit out in the sunny garden with a glass of wine, excellently situated, really enjoyed gardens nearby- Hindringham Hall and Natural Surroundings, both well worth a visit, also excellent for the coast, Blakeney, Wells, Morston Quay and East/West Runton and Cromer, had a lovely day in Norwich. I was particularly grateful that the host had provided fans (I'd asked about this when I booked) as we had a really hot week and they made it more comfortable.. Thank you to the hosts for going the extra mile, much appreciated, as was the bottle of wine- thanks so much, We'd all be happy to stay there again as it ticked all the boxes..

Briston Stay
Plus points, good location near Holt and Cromer etc…Parking was ok, but I think could be problematic. Kitchen was equipped, but it needed a deep clean, I don’t expect crumbs and dirty oven etc…basic level was not met. The garden was a disappointment, clearly a nice space once. The garden furniture was in very poor condition, chairs where rusted and rotten the BBQ had been used as an ashtray! It was a shame, I just found myself cleaning before I could relax. The cottage has good bones but just needs a little more care and attention to detail.
The cottage was easy to find with great communication and we were able to park directly opposite for most of our stay. Very welcome bottle of wine upon arrival, tea and coffee would have been a bonus! Very clean with comfortable beds and sofas, a pleasant sunny garden with a long washing line, Sky TV and our girls loved their rooftop bedrooms with plenty of storage space for clothes. The upstairs hallway is very dark at night but torches are provided for reaching the downstairs bathroom which has a great bath. The kitchen is small but the hob and oven worked very well and nice to wash up overlooking the garden. The only reason we don’t give five stars is the lack of some equipment in the kitchen which made it tricky to prepare our meals. We suggest larger knives, pasta bowls and coffee mugs. Conveniently located near to a Co-op, butchers, fishmongers, takeaways and the pub The Three Horseshoes is just round the corner and their crab sandwiches were amazing! Recommend Cromer, Blickling Hall, the Broads and the Southern Comfort Boat Ride and Norwich. The Bure River Cottage restaurant at Horning and Rocky Bottoms at Cromer were both excellent for seafood, booking recommended.
A beautiful home from home, I stayed here with my 5 year old and my parents. We used it as a base to explore the area. I gave 4 stars due location but this is really my own fault…..I didn’t realize how far we were from popular beaches like Cromer and Hunstanton. Not a problem normally but I chose to car share with my folks which meant we had to really plan any trips out. Apart from this the cottage was perfect. Everything you need for a relaxing break. Handy to have a washing machine with all our beach visits. Lovely touch to have games and jigsaws available for rainy days. The children’s rooms can comfortably fit a small adult, but could do with new pillows. Master bedroom is very comfortable. The local shop in the village is fantastic, lots of local produce which we had for pack ups and dinners. If your traveling in a electric car be warned Cromer and Hunstanton chargers rarely worked but the running horse pub in fakenham were very reliable and fast. We went twice and the staff were lovely, dogs are also welcome. A brilliant place and we will be visiting again very soon. Thank you for a very relaxing break.

We stayed here for a long weekend (family of four plus dog) and really enjoyed it. Nice quiet location but with the pub within a very short walk and a good base for exploring North Norfolk. The cottage was clean, well presented and had everything we needed. Communication with the owner was quick and helpful. Recommended!
(Be aware the stairs are quite steep!)
Cottage with old fashioned charm, nice and clean. We had a wonderful stay, nice and easy to find and communication with owners was great. The cottage is well equipped and has a nice garden area. The nearby pub the Three Horse Shoes is an excellent pub very welcoming and friendly .
