My wife and I know Edinburgh very well, having visited multiple times. In fact we met and were married there. We chose the property because we wanted a central location so we could walk or use our bus cards to travel around and meet friends. The property met or exceeded expectations in almost all categories so we could highly recommend it. And it is very secure. I could make two suggestions. First have a way to get two sets of keys so that we could travel separately. Second, as I mentioned above we know Edinburgh very well and that much of it is built on hills and slopes. Once we were informed that the keys would be held in a 24h store on Lothian Road we knew that to go directly from the store to the flat would be go go downhill-actually 64 steps and not recommended doing with suitcases. The owner might suggest a longer but flatter route via Lothian road to King's Stable road.
Otherwise I can highly recommend this property.
