Delightful Cottage in a Stunning Private Waterfront Location.

Situated on a private estate, the property offers privacy and location, with stunning views over the Kyles of Bute and breathtaking scenery of surrounding lochs, glens and mountains of Argyll.It provides a perfect base from which to explore Scotlands spectacular West Coast.

One of the few rental accommodation in the area that has no public road nor other properties in front. A peaceful getaway, surrounded by nature yet within walking distance of the lovely coastal village of Tighnabruaich with all its amenities.

The cottage has been recently renovated and benefits from all the normal creature comforts and more. It has a stunning natural setting, complete with the soporific sounds of a natural waterfall located to one side of the cottage gardens.

Surrounded by an abundance of natural wildlife, marine life, flora and fauna, including the endangered red squirrel and Pine Marten, the cottage is a perfect coastal retreat, in which to relax and unwind with family and friends.

Special place

Even though it has quite a large boatshed next to it, this cottage has a very special atmosphere (You can barely see the shed once you're inside). The house looks straight over the most tranquil bay and we saw noone near the house either on foot or in a car while we were there. You feel as it fhe whole place is just yours! The house is warm, clean, very prettily presented and has everything you need.

Peace at last.

Been a bit of a hectic time at home so needed a relaxing stay. This is just what we got. Lovely cottage and location is what it was all about. To swim in the Loch every morning was a treat. Huugo is a water furry so wonderful time was had by all. Pity we could not stay longer. Thank you for letting us to stay. Ange, Colin and Huugo.

Seclusion and views

Fab cottage with everything provided for. Very clean and comfy beds. The view from the cottage is amazing and very peaceful day and night. Definitely a cottage we will be visiting again.

Simply Marvellous!

The title says it all, our trip to this wonderful cottage was marvellous, the scenery stunning, amazing wildlife, the cottage beautiful with everything a peaceful holiday needs. Jill and Chris are the most wonderful hosts with lots of fantastic stories, they have helped give our children memories that will last forever, we can't wait for our next visit.

So peaceful

Property was amazing, some really lovely touches and a great location. Jill & Chris were so kind and helpful allowing us access to all areas. Fantastic for wildlife (red squirrels, pine martens, badgers, herons, gannets and loads of small garden birds to name just a few). Just the place to wind down and relax.

Peace & Tranquility

We had wonderful stay at West Glen, very quiet and relaxing, great spot to explore the local area from. The house is well equipped, clean and comfortable but it is outside you will love. Access to the water is easy and our dog loved the boat ramp to get into the (cold) sea. Local amenities are okay, with shops and cafes just a 5 minute drive. Try Ostel Bay beach, and the ferry over to Tarbet to buy seafood.

A wonderful place to be

We were warmly welcomed by Chris and he gave us a short introduction to the house. This has a unique location right on the water and next to a creek. Unfortunately the otter didn't come to wash. But we were able to observe many other animals. The squirrels arrived very quickly once we laid out the nuts that the landlord had kindly provided. It was a great holiday in a very nice house in a nice little town with very friendly people. Always my pleasure.

A little piece of heaven

The cottage is in the most picturesque, secluded setting you could ask for, right on the water’s edge. It is along a bumpy single lane track but how else do you get to such a peaceful location?! The views of Loch Fyne and the Isle of Bute from the living room and both bedrooms are just stunning. Sitting at the window watching herons, otters and a wonderful array of birdlife was a delight. The cottage is immaculate, comfortable and tastefully decorated and has everything you will need for a perfect getaway – including washing detergent, drinking water, hand sanitiser and bird food! It is these small touches that make the property five star! We met the owner Gill who was lovely, very helpful and gave us all the info we needed – even providing a text reminder when the Waverley Paddle steamer was due to go past the cottage. If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, we would highly recommend West Glen – it is a place to go and unwind. We would recommend you stop off at a supermarket for a “big shop” before you arrive although there is a village shop for essentials. The cottage is an easy 45-minute walk away from the village; however, it does provide stunning views along the way. There’s lots of walks and places to visit including Caladdh Harbour just along from the cottage. Star gazing here is also superb - We sat out one evening and saw so stars. It was just magical! We would highly recommend West Glen, it has become our top destination cottage!

This place is lovely and comfortable. Very secluded, and road is bumpy but just take it easy and you’ll get there. It’s well worth the drive in. Amazing wildlife and scenery. Lots of sea and land birds, red squirrels, otters, and seals. An otter swam by and came onto the beach while I was sitting quietly on the wall. The view over to Bute is lovely - no structures on this side of Bute, all wilderness. The stars are phenomenal - so sparkly. Jill and Chris are excellent hosts. They provided many perks like coffee, tea, drinking water, condiments, cooking pots, and more! All questions I had before and after the stay were answered quickly and thoroughly. This is a wonderful place to relax, unwind and experience the beauty of nature. Excellent stay. Many thanks!! XO
