About this property

Unique Historical log cabin with private beach and 300 ft. of waterfrontage.

A big thank you to all of our 2023 five star guests! We have two person canoe, two one person kayaks, and two paddle boards for your use. Also, The Old Log Cabin has a smart TV, so that you can mirror streaming services from your smart phone. In addition, COMCAST WIFI and streaming, fast speed internet, great reception.
You will step back in time when you stay at this preserved historic log house (circa 1790). The old log house is now equipped with a galley kitchen that has an electric stove, ref., sink, blender, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, and stacked washer/dryer. There is a dining area adjacent to the kitchen, as well as another on the lake front outside porch. The second room on the main floor is a living area with TV/DVD, futon, and hammock which is great for naps.

The second floor of the log home has a bath with pedestal sink, toilet, and bath tub. There are two bedrooms upstairs (one large bedroom with two twin beds and a queen bed; the second bedroom with a queen bed). Each bedroom has its own pedestal sink. But don't worry, this old log house now has central air conditioning and heat as well as a fireplace and wood stove downstairs!

This interesting and unique old log cabin is located on very private, wooded property and is geared to outdoor fun and living. In addition to the inside bathroom, there is an outdoor shower with hot/cold water. A covered outdoor cooking area with a 5 burner gas grill, under counter ref. and water is available for added convenience. If you prefer cooking out with charcoal or wood, there is also a lakeside fire pit and charcoal grill with water. The dock area is large, with a table, umbrella, slide, and rope swing. The beach is sandy and gently sloping which is great for small children. Also, two kayaks along with other lake toys are available for use. The fun won't stop when the sun goes down, because the dock, all cooking areas, and paths are well illuminated with outdoor lighting.

This property is located on a peninsula in a small community with a quiet private road that's great for family walks or jogging.

Historic Stay
What an amazing stay. 1790s cabin restored in the 80s. Beautiful and still had all we needed for our trip to the lake. We visited historic Bedford during the day and spent our evenings in this beautiful historic cabin. Met the owner Dave and he gave us a full tour and history. He also gave us some great suggestions for places to eat and places to get great views of the area.

About the host

Host profile image
I enjoy the people that come and visit us. In the previous four years of renting the cabin I have met wonderful people that have taken excellent care of my property and it has been my pleasure to share it with them. I am looking forward to having you as my guests again, as well as newcomers.

Why they chose this property

The Old Log Cabin was built in 1791. Its preservation started in 1988 and was completed in the year 2000. I am a builder who enjoys old classical structures and I took this project on because I thought it was worth saving. Over the years, my family, friends and I have made many great memories together.

What makes this property unique

The cabin gives you an appreciation of the way things were made and at the same time it has all the modern comfort for today's vacationer.
