The Barn, 21 At The Beach - a cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

Originally constructed to house the horse drawn carriages of wealthy Victorian visitors to the Tor Hotel in the mid to late 1800's, this home is just metres from the beach and has been beautifully restored to offer guests stylish accommodation in a unique seaside position.

Step inside and you'll discover a sumptuous ground floor bedroom with its own luxurious en-suite shower room. Chunky window reveals nod to the building's humble past and lend a characterful charm to this room with a walk-in closet providing additional hanging space for coats and jackets.

A staircase leads up to the first floor which opens on to a bright, double volume open plan living and kitchen area, complete with original exposed roof timbers. Pendulum lighting and stylish soft furnishings make for a welcoming space, with sink in sofas and a large flat screen TV creating the perfect place to spend time and unwind in. The Shaker-style kitchen is well-equipped and ideal for preparing a homecooked meal or two in, and with a fabulous farm shop within just a short drive from the property, guests can whip up a few Devon-inspired creations of their own.

On this floor guests will also discover a fantastic family bathroom as well as a second bedroom, elegantly furnished with two large single beds. The vaulted ceiling with large angled windows flood the room with light making it a gorgeous space to enjoy some much needed downtime in.

The village of Torcross is well known for being perched on a stunning three mile stretch of shingle beach. The calm, clear waters and safe swimming conditions make it a popular choice for visitors, and the ideal location for a family or friends looking to spend a relaxing break in one of the most beautiful parts of South Devon.

Amazing holiday

Restful and peaceful break. Great location surrounding area lovely. Very nice accommodation, comfortable, clean and welcoming, secure parking was a fantastic bonus. We can't wait to come back.

Another lovely week at The Barn

We have just enjoyed our second stay at The Barn this year. For us it provides perfect holiday accommodation. We like being close to the beach, the ley and Start Bay Inn. It is easy to get to Dartmouth and Brixham in one direction and Kingsbridge and Salcombe the other way. We will soon be booking our next visit to The Barn.

Nice Place all being that its in the car park but this didnt put us off, as i know somebody who had also stayed there, they said it was nice and roomy and it was specially upstairs (open Plan) Nice walkin shower downstairs and a large bath upstairs Beds were comfortable and we would stay again.

Beautiful place. Accommodation needs a bit of tlc

Would stay again. Been to torcross four times in three years the family loves it. Parking can get a bit hard.

This apartment was fabulous. Lovely spacious and light lounge and kitchen area. Just a few minutes walk to the beach. Friendly and helpful hosts. They also run the Billy Can cafe. Great place to have coffee and lunch. Thank you

A wonderful family spot

we really enjoyed our recent five nights stay. We travelled with a toddler and we met with lots of kindness from hosts. The amenities were fantastic and the location perfect. Tight garage space but we sorted it out :) I was impressed with the available kitchen items. A perfect home base and we will definitely be staying at Luxury Coastal locations again!

Great Devon location

The property was very clean and well equipped, unfortunately we ran into a few problems. Check in day revealed television problems , the next day a tv expert found a cut antenna wire. We had to turn on the heat for the towel rails, We never had evening or morning heating.

Was dusty and smelt musty

The actual property was was nice, the town consisted of a pub and a fish n chips shop. But the property needs a good clean. It was dusty and smelt musty, i'm sure there was painted over mould stains on the bedroom wall, and the rugs and sofas could do with a clean. As a family that suffers with allergies it was very difficult to relax in the property. Just needs a deep clean.

Dusty cobwebs.

Could beLovely place, shame about dust and cobwebs, fridge smelt and ice box was solid. Needed defrosting. And cleaning, the rug in main bedroom was disgusting dirty. Thought it was supposed to be super cleaned because of Covid 19 shouldn’t come on holiday and have to clean .couldn’t see though windows. Would come again if it was clean.

A Few Days In Toreros

We booked The Barn 21 At The Beach to have a few days away with our daughter and son in law. Prior to departing from home we were emailed by Luxury Coastal to give us the various key codes and a few rules of the house. On arrival we were pleased the find the accommodation was just as advertised, well equipped for 4 and very close to the beach. ( Not that the weather encouraged beach going). The only slight problem, the electrically operated garage door which after putting the car in would not lower. I informed Luxury Coastal and said that it this was not a problem as I was quite happy to leave it open. Aside from this slight problem, we had an excellent few days and I would happily re-book The Barn 21, At The Beach. and recommend Luxury Coastal for holiday accommodation.

Nice apartment but not in the car park

On the plus side the apartment was very nice inside and as described in the online description. Model decor, comfortable, and only 2 minutes from the beach. However nowhere does it say the barns are in the car park for the main building. We were pre-warned after booking that there were going to be some building works at the rear of the buildings. This was not some works but an entire building site with diggers, trucks etc. So one side was a car park and the other a building site. The property could also have been cleaner. Whilst kitchen and bathrooms were clean there were loads of cobwebs, under the sofas were filthy (including food), and the windows were also filthy. Given the building site out the back you would have thought the windows would be cleaned regularly. Loved torcross and the location of at the beach, just not liked not being told about the (not fully clean) apartment being in the car park.

Superb property

Amazing property in such a fantastic location to explore the local towns and beaches. We had another amazing week in Torcross. The propertyis well equipped and has everything you need including a washing machine which is handy with lots of swimming stuff to clean. The garage allows space to keep wetsuits, paddleboard etc. Such an wonderful place and brilliant property.

Bedding, bathrooms and kitchen clean enough but lots of spiders and cobwebs throughout and outside the property, garage very mucky, couldn’t see through windows upstairs they were so dirty. All smelled very nice on entry but once that faded a musty smell downstairs.
