The apartment was perfect, an indoor and outdoor oasis that was beautifully designed, incredible decor throughout. Had everything you will ever need for cooking, dining and just being super comfortable around the house. I would love to come back.
So lucky that Gary’s beautiful home was available on short notice, and friends and I spent 10 wonderful days there surrounding Labor Day Weekend. Beautifully and comfortably appointed, modern kitchen and exquisite bathroom, comfortable beds, great communication with the owner, who lives right downstairs. A really unique place in a perfect spot. Can’t wait to come back next summer.
Gary's charming hideaway provided us with a delightful slice of heaven, just steps away from the bustle of Commercial Street. We have been renting in Provincetown for most of our adult lives, and this is by far one of the nicest properties we've ever stayed. Beautifully appointed and with all the amenities one would need for a week away from home. The deck was a special treat. Fantastic spot to enjoy the magnificent late afternoon sun/light that Provincetown is known for. Thank you, Gary, for creating this little slice of paradise!
After renting in Provincetown for 20+ years, and renting this property numerous times, this gem continues to be by far our favorite. Every aspect of the space has been thoughtfully designed with a gifted aesthetic eye, from the gorgeous colors, textures, objects and artwork. The kitchen is well appointed, and bathroom and products is a bath lover's dream. I look forward to the beautiful flower arrangements picked from the garden in each room that greet us each year. The owner is lovely (and so is his gallery). Highly recommend.
My partner and I have been coming to PTown for over 15 years and this was one of our favorite properties (if not THE favorite) ever. The location was great, steps away from several great restaurants and the bustle of Commercial St but somehow completely hidden and quiet. The unit was immaculately clean, with a quirky charm with art and decor, and very nice, updated kitchen/appliances and bathroom. The porch was great for early morning coffee or late afternoon drink. Beds comfortable. The skylights kept it ventilated with a nice breeze. Easy check in and check out - and Gary was great. Definitely would stay here again and recommend to others. Thank you, Gary! A+
This unit was well-appointed and extremely comfortable for our party of four. Gary was a very communicative and helpful host. We would absolutely love to stay again during future P-town trips!
Gary was a tremendous host who takes impeccable care of his house and garden. He was very responsive in our communications and even invited us to a reception at his art gallery down the street. The house is beautiful and the art on the walls is very well curated. We’re looking forward to staying at Gary’s again in the future.
Gary's upstairs apartment was super clean, amazingly well equipped, so tasteful yet homey, so centrally located yet quiet, and it reminded us of the old days of Provincetown when eccentric gardening and unusual color choices were more common. Everything was very carefully chosen and very well maintained. Gary himself was very helpful and friendly and all communications were clear and concise. If we had to make a negative remark, it would be that there were simply too many occasional chairs taking up space, inside and out. (Also, the dinnerware was a bit scattershot.) We very much look forward to staying with Gary again.
5th year renting here and will keep coming back!
Who doesn’t love to be steps from the beach and a cocktail or coffee!

An Utterly Delightful Stay in Ptown
My friends and I had a wonderful stay at 6A Pearl. What a delightful place. We loved the decor and artwork in the unit -- a great mug collection awaits for your coffee and tea, too! The bathroom and shower were especially fantastic and rejuvenating. The location, quaintly tucked away off the street while still within walking distance of everything, was incredibly charming. And Gary was a friendly, communicative, helpful host. I'd happily stay here again.

Beautiful and welcoming
What a beautiful property. We were at 6a Pearl for a week in mid September, and could not have loved it more! Not only is it gorgeous, comfortable, and quiet, it is literally 1/2 a block to Commercial and the center of everything. And on top of all of that, Gary was a warm and welcoming host! We plan on staying there again in June 2018, and for many visits to come!

Beautiful, comfortable, perfectly located
We stayed for one week with our 2 kids and had a wonderful time. We loved to take our time before going out for daily activities, enjoying the apartment, preparing our meals, hanging out on the private deck, watching movies - so relaxing. The place is beautifully furnished and decorated, bedrooms were very comfortable, and the bathtub with a rainfall shower head was great.
It is very conveniently located on a small street leading right into an excellent coffee house (Wired Puppy), and a path to the town's beach - great to take a walk or go running.
It was early April so not every business was open, but the weather was great (in the 60s F during the day) and there was plenty to do, eat and shop; great time if you want to beat the crowds. We went often to the Squealing Pig bar - good selection of beer, mussels and tasty menu.
Gary was very helpful in getting us settled in, and answered our questions promptly before our arrival. Thank you!

Perfect in every way
Stylish and comfortable space in the heart of town...this gorgeous unit tucked in the back side of Pearl St affords great access to the hustle/bustle and great access to solitude at the same time. Beds super comfortable...bathroom ultra lux, kitchen stocked w quality cookware and appliances. We enjoyed the small details: fresh flowers and cookies upon arrival, high quality soap, and to-die-for rain shower-head to name a few...
Gary is attentive and thoughtful in his correspondence; a lovely gentleman who made us feel welcome. A Ptown jewel...rent this treasure of a space if you have the chance

Lovely and Convenient
This property is at a VERY convenient location, while still quite quiet and peaceful. The beach, stores, and restaurants are all within walkting distance. The kitchen/dining/great room area has plenty of space and light, and the deck has comforble outdoor seating for 6 people. The kitchen is completely set up with a full size fridge and everything you need for cooking. Plus washer and drier in the unit! This is a comfortable vacation place for two couples.
We felt very welcome and would return!!

A Lovely Apartment with Fabulous Touches
This apartment is an excellent oasis in the heart of Provincetown. The four of us cooked almost every meal and spent more time than we thought we would in the apartment as the weather was a bit iffy, and we were pleased with the accommodations. First, the bathroom is just lovely. Not only is it beautifully designed with all the latest faucet technology, but Gary leaves out lovely soaps for your lathering pleasure. Next, the kitchen has all the gadgets you need along with some staples, like salt and pepper grinders and fine extra virgin olive oil. The grill and deck overlooking the garden bursting with greenery was a nice addition. The bedrooms were fine. The ceilings are a little low and the mattresses are OK. However, I highly recommend it. Gary's respectful and attentive manner along with the little touches sprinkled throughout, make this an excellent stay.

About the host
Hosted by Gary Marotta
Living and working in Boston as an Interior Designer for many years brought me to Provincetown to vacation and connect with the natural beauty of the landscape. A part time private art dealer, I recognized the opportunity to open a gallery here and feature contemporary works of artists I admired and collected. A dream... gary marotta fine art g-1 opened in 2011 in the East End of town and moved to 162 Commercial Street in the West End shortly thereafter. A reality... My property on Pearl Street is shared with friends and collectors alike. g-1 offers established and emerging contemporary artists with a focus on painting, photography, and works on paper. The gallery hosts scheduled openings while keeping regular hours seven days a week through the high season. Year round g-1 is open weekends or by appointment.
Why they chose this property
While renting from a friend and colleague through the mid-nineties I set my sights on a neighbors house which seemed to be a diamond in the rough. When a long time resident invited me into her home which she could no longer take care of I immediately knew this would be the perfect place and project for me. She grew fond of me during our visits and decided she wanted me to live in the house. The rest is history. Removing carpet, paneling, vinyl siding, and concrete sidewalks were just a few of the changes made to the property with a goal of making it feel as though it had remained untouched as a piece of Old Provincetown. Blending mid century furniture and yard sale finds with contemporary Italian design and an extensive art collection was a primary goal of the spaces. The labor of love included the development of a perennial garden to envelope the classic Cape style home and it's exterior spaces.
What makes this property unique
This property on Pearl Street provides a balanced experience of old and new, quite yet social, convenient while isolated.
