Lovely relaxing home and stay
What a lovely little home, we ended up spending much of our time in the home and on the beach beside the property. We cooked in every night (3 of them) and the kitchen was really well stocked for cooking, many rentals do not have enough actual cooking items but this home definitely did. And then in the evening we watched a movie every night.
It was such a relaxing stay, truly wonderful.
We walked into town one evening too and it was such a pleasure to stroll in, have a beer and then stroll home again for dinner.
the location is perfect, it is not too close to the madness of Hyannis but close enough should you want to go. The village of Barnstable is lovely with a small market grocery store that had everything you need, and a lovely coffee shop that we didn't discover until the last day and wish we had stopped in earlier.
Shannon was a great host and helped us with everything we need but otherwise left us to ourselves.
High recommend! Should we return to the Cape, we would not hesitate to stay here again. Also, VERY comfy beds.
We loved your little cottage today on cape cod!! It was very clean and perfect for the 4 of us!!
We loved your cottage on Cape Cod! The view is beautiful! The house is nicely decorated! We highly recommend this cute little cottage! ❤️
Barnstable beauty 💖
Sweet little Cape Cod home with a beautiful view‼️
Barnstable house was great!!!
We spent two weeks at this lovely home. Shannon thought of everything!
We walked into the village every day and enjoyed coffee at Nirvana!
The weather was awesome and the views are superb! Wonderful vacation!!
The property is in great condition and maintained very well. It is close to the bay and my kids enjoyed skipping rocks on the water.
About a 15 minute walk to Barnstable, though main areas were a car trip away.
Shannon was incredibly response and nice to speak with.
The main reason for 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is that we felt that the beach would be more of a beach, whereas is was more like a muddier lake shore. Definitely fun for skipping rocks, though I would not have gone swimming in it or set myself up to spend the day on the beach. The better sandy beach is about a 30 minute walk or short drive away.
In addition, there is a lot of laundry to do at the end of the stay for the house, and the machines are very small so it takes quite a bit of time to get it all done.
Overall, it was a lovely stay and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a peaceful trip away by the cape.
Thank you for your input; guest feedback is very valuable.
At low tide, our beach is certainly great for skipping rocks and heading out to the sandbars via kayaks that pop out in front. Other guests have really enjoyed clamming and fishing as well.
High tide is great for swimming as the ocean comes way up to the shore and one can just step in and swim. However, if you're looking for digging your toes deep into deep sand, I leave the free beach pass for those needs.
With the 16 included beaches, earlier guests have found their favorite.
Starting the sheets in the wash and popping the towels in the dryer keeps the costs down which I'm able to favorably pass onto guests. The house rental is a fraction of those in the area without reducing the amenities.
Should you like to return (I hope you do), I'd be happy to better accommodate your needs. Just let me know! If I can do it, I promise I will!
Comfortable / Scenic Stay
Very comfortable place to stay. Amazing view right out the back window. Close to small village of Barnstable that meets all your basic needs. Host was very easy to work with and accommodating. Tons of beaches nearby - our favorites were Dowses and Sandy Neck.
Location, Location, Location! Compare our beach house to others in the area that charge between $5,000-$6000 per week! You get the same view and amenities!
Don't Pack Anything!:
We've provided everything for you so you don't have to pack it. We provided big fluffy beach towels, high-quality linens and bath towels, beach chairs, and beach toys. We've provided all the information for bike rentals, kayak rentals, and what to do in the area.
Bring your bikes and ride around the picturesque streets with oceanviews or take advantage of the local bike paths! Perhaps even try something new like ocean kayaking where we can schedule a 1 or 2 person (or more) kayak at the beach house for the week, complete with lifevests, instruction, and delivery/pick-up. The immediate area is written in many guidebooks as an oasis for ocean kayaking! A ''must-do'' is the large high-speed jet propelled whale watch yacht docked at the walking distance Barnstable harbo
