About this property

The Farriers - Family Cottage in the heart of the Peak District

The Farriers is our largest cottage at Croft Farm. From Spring 2025 we now accommodate six guests in The Farriers, the perfect cottage for larger families, or bring the grandparents along too, and enjoy everything The Peak District has to offer together. The Farriers is a spacious cottage located in the corner of our courtyard setting.

Enter the cottage into a beautiful, large kitchen/ dining area, with all modern appliances for those who love to cook. From the kitchen is a spacious lounge with electric fire and patio door with views onto the lawn area. Upstairs are two bedrooms and the family bathroom. One double bedroom with en-suite shower room with shower cubicle, wash basin, WC and a heated towel rail. One twin bedroom with a one double bed and one single bed, both bedrooms have views out across the fields.
The family bathroom with bath, WC, sink unit and heated towel rail.

Explore the outdoors....we have our own direct access onto the High Peak Trail, perfect for those who love walking or cycling (bring your own bike and store in our secure cycle storage). Enjoy the surrounding Peak District - the stunning Chatsworth House is just a 25 minute drive away, Haddon Hall just 20 minutes. Visit the picturesque villages of Monyash, Youlgrave and Hartington on your way home or enjoy a walk around the nearby Carsington Water. Prefer something a little more adventurous? Travel a little further and visit Alton Towers, just 40 minutes away.

We are located centrally to the nearby towns of Matlock, Bakewell, Ashbourne and Buxton - all just a 20-25 minute drive away. All these towns have the major supermarkets along with their own unique shops.

Unfortunately, we do not accept pets in our cottage. Another thing to note is that we close over the festive period each year.

Lovely, well equipped property in rural location next to the High Peak Trail...

Lovely clean property located in a shared courtyard with a number of other properties. Quiet rural location but lorries also located on the same site and pass the property from 5am in the morning so be careful if you are a light sleeper and need to have the windows open. It would also help light sleepers if the bedroom curtains could provide more blackout. Property is nicely fitted out and fully equipped with everything you would need. Our only suggestion would be to include a piece of furniture in the bathrooms (which are a good size) to allow towels, toiletries to be stored. There is a large shed to hold bikes and other leisure equipment which is great..
