We spent a fabulous time in Peveril Cottage. The location was ideal, only a few minutes from Bakewell's center. The cottage is very tidy and cozy, and, most important, absolutely quiet. No dogs barking at night, no sounds from cars or motorcycles. If you plan really relaxing holidays, this is it. Liz was very helpful. She responded promptly to all of our requests and arranged everything in order to make our stay most comfortable. In the kitchen there is everything you need and the bed is just gorgeous. If you are planning for hiking and cycling, Bakewell is ideally situated as well for The White Peak as for the Dark Peak in the north. We recommend this place without any restrictions.
What a lovely property! Clean, cozy, and comfortable in a fantastic, quiet location that's a brief walk to all of Bakewell. Very convenient to have a parking spot! Everything I needed for an extended stay was included (nicely stocked kitchen, washer, etc.) and check in/out was very easy. Owner responded quickly to all messages and was lovely to interact with. Will be back!
The property was excellent , everything we needed and In a lovely quiet area but close to everything.Only a short walk to the river. The only problem was the parking in a medium sized car.
Lovely centrally located property, but quiet. Very clean inside, tidy and well maintained outside. Parking very tight for me, as I have a long estate car, but I managed, and if I can do it, anyone can. Only thing missing for us were large pint glasses, Otherwise perfect place.
A really lovely cottage literally a hop skip and jump away from the hub of Bakewell and yet located in such a quiet secluded location. Great service re booking and accessing, superbly clean and the area is a variety of quality walking, eating out and shopping. Fantatsic. Thank you Liz. Tim and Lesley.
Beautiful cottage nestled away from the main town but still centre is a couple of mins away . Lovely and quiet . Well equipped even to a much needed plaster when I cut my finger . Plenty of storage in the bedroom and a comfy bed . Bathroom is small but room to store your toiletries .
A beautiful, cozy, delightful cottage in the heart of Bakewell. My mother and I stayed here for 5 nights and had everything we could want, and were even able to make ourselves dinner in the well equipped kitchen. The front patio was a peaceful spot to sit, and we loved the location. The house was very comfortable and the host was very responsive and kind. One of our favorite vacation rentals ever.
The property was situated in the heart of Bakewell but was so quiet and peaceful. The neighbours were friendly and welcoming and the property was spotless. I would definitely recommend a stay here.
The parking at the property is challenging and I was glad I had a mini and not in my previous saloon BMW! We spent ages trying to unlock the wrong key safe at the property. Thank goodness we arrived at dusk and not in the dark. We wanted to make filter coffee but there wasn’t any. We wanted to light a fire but no kindling or logs. The bathroom is very cold but we were warm in the rest of the house. Very close to the centre of Bakewell which was great.
Very enjoyable stay in lovely cottage. Very clean and fully equipped. Great location. First time in this area and will certainly return. 10 out of 10

About the host

We live in West Yorkshire and love Bakewell and our plan is to eventually retire to the area. In the meantime we wanted a holiday cottage we could enjoy as we like to walk and also like cycling. We also enjoy all the facilities that Bakewell has to offer which are within a few minutes walk of Peveril cottage.
Why they chose this property
We spent quite a few months looking for a holiday home and knew Bakewell was ideal. We love the countryside and the town centre has some lovely cafes and restaurants. We are enjoying the many walks in the area and love visiting the surrounding villages. We loved the cottage the minute we saw it and have enjoyed decorating and furnishing it.
What makes this property unique
The cottage is very central to the town centre and yet very quiet. It is set back from the road and in a lovely position. It has off road parking which is opposite the front door.
