About this property
Restored farmhouse with heated pool and landscaped gardens.
Chez Manon is an 18th century farmhouse (French “mas”), with large heated salt water pool, professionally landscaped grounds, separate laundry and covered parking, that has been restored to reflect its provençal origins, while incorporating modern comforts. The house itself is surrounded by farmland and its situation at the end of a private driveway makes the location tranquil and relaxing. Chez Manon is just 2 kilometers from Apt, where you can find bakeries, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, even a cinema.
The ground floor consists of a large, open plan living, dining and kitchen area with exposed beams and tile floors, a separate living room for TV and stereo, a library down a few steps, and a toilet with hand basin. There is an open wood-burning fireplace at one end with comfortable seating and an enclosed fireplace in the TV lounge area.
The kitchen area has a central island, granite surfaces, a double oven with gas burners, a large double fridge/freezer with ice-maker, microwave, dishwasher, double butler’s sink, and ample pots, pans and utensils, as well as a range of small appliances, such as a kettle, coffee machine, food processor and toaster. The dining area has a table and chairs to easily seat ten. There are plenty of dishes and cutlery.
There is also a separate “cozy” living room with French digital TV, Netflix (with your own account), DVD player, stereo, and an assortment of music and films. A few steps down from the main living room is the library with a writing desk, and wired high speed internet access, as well as local guides and maps, a great area for relaxing/reading. There is also WiFi throughout the house.
The five bedrooms are upstairs. There are three bedrooms with queen-size beds (160cm), two of which have en-suite shower rooms with sinks. There are two bedrooms with twin beds (90cm wide) which can be made up into king-size beds. In addition to the two en-suite shower rooms, there is a separate shower with sink and a separate bath with shower over with sink. There are two more toilets with hand basins on the upper level, making three in total. The house sleeps a total of 10.
Outside, there is a paved terrace facing the gardens and fountain on the south and a paved terrace on the north overlooking the Vaucluse mountains with a shady trellis. There are outdoor tables and chairs for dining al fresco, a BBQ set and plenty of land including a “secret” garden with a hammock among the trees. There is a ping pong table, dart board and badminton set for your use.
The 5x10m salt water heated swimming pool is just on the west side with uninhibited views of the Vaucluse and the Mont Ventoux. There is a variety of pool furniture and parasols. The pool is available and heated from May through September, and available unheated in October (closed Nov-April).
Below the main house are the laundry and covered parking. The laundry has two washers and one dryer, plus there is an outdoor clothesline. There is covered parking for three cars and plenty of secure and covered storage for bicycles (we can recommend a local hire company). Linens and towels are included, including pool towels. There are no extra charges for utilities.
Other than in peak season, we do offer a 25% rate reduction for groups of up to six people - three bedrooms will be available for use (two doubles and one twin/double) plus one bathroom and two shower rooms. Please contact us to arrange this.
