Amazing place! So much to do and so many special touches by the host. Our favorite activities were taking the kayaks out on the lake and fishing off the dock. Will definitely stay again next time we're in the area!
We had a lovely time at "The Cabin" near Nisswa. Cindy provided a warm, inviting place to stay for a few days with our family to be together and enjoy everything that Northern Minnesota has to offer. Not only that, our nephew had lost a stuffed animal he left behind and she mailed it back with a kind note. Not only will you enjoy a wonderful stay right on beautiful Loon Lake, but a host that will make you feel right at home.

I'm so glad you had a great time at the Cabin on Loon Lake.
And it's nice to hear Bunny made it home safely!
We loved our time here as a family - bonfires, time by the water, cooking and meals together, games, laughing until we cried! Thank you for hosting a most memorable vacation for my family - we will cherish these memories!

Thanks Tori, I'm so glad you had a wonderful time! Thank you for leaving the place nice and clean. I wish you would have told me there were more than 2 of you staying I would have prepared the cleaners. Anyway, I'm glad you had a wonderful time and hope you will make it an annual event!
This is a perfect place to relax, rejuvenate, and enjoy morning coffee on the dock with the sunrise. Amenities here are great -- everything you need to feel at home. We appreciated the responsiveness of the host, cleanliness, and attractiveness of this lake home.

So glad you had a relaxing time! Thanks for staying at “The Cabin”.
Our family of 5 loved our stay! This was the best furnished and hosted stay I've had. We were provided with everything we needed, including things we didn't know we needed. The fishing, boating, and campfires at night were highlights. It's even more spacious than it looks in the pictures. We would definitely stay again!
Our group of ladies enjoyed our time at the Loon cabin! The location, special touches by the host, and cleanliness were a few of the things that really stick out. I would recommend this property and hope to return myself!

Hosting Jessica and her group was a delight. They were respectful and had excellent communication. We would love to have them stay again.
House has multiple amenities, especially for families. Cindy was very helpful and attentive for a couple of 'hiccups' in our stay. Property is very beautiful in the fall with the leaves changing colors.
The host went out of her way to make the cabin have everything you could possibly need. The welcoming feeling is genuine, however the mattresses were unbearable to sleep on, and my hair and fingernails turned orange from the water.

I will take your comments to heart. Most of our guests find the beds very luxurious, they were purchased last year. Since we are a seasonal ( summer only) cabin they have been used for 3 months.
The water in the area does have minerals in it. Last summer we installed a new deep 72’ well that has improved the quality greatly.
Using well water for 3 days does not cause orange hair and nails.
One possibility could be from the use of self tanning products. The cleaners found orange body shaped stains on the bedding and sheets. Just a thought.
Our family had such a wonderful time at "the Cabin". This home is full of special touches, such as a pasta dinner for your first night, a s'mores basket and root beer floats in the fridge, My Dad was especially grateful fro the toothbrushes as he forgot his. Cindy has truly thought of everything.
The bedrooms were spacious and everything is neat and comfy. We enjoyed the fire ring, the kayaks and row boat and secret room (great for meditating!). We are already planning our trip back here next year. It was a truly special.
Our family of five had a lovely week at this cabin on the lake. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine, s’mores kit, and everything freshly cleaned. We appreciated the fully stocked kitchen (with dishwasher), the secret toy room, a nice size television for evening movies, yard games, a nice fire pit, and, of course, the great dock with rowboat. Our kids spent hours and hours fishing off the dock (little fish) and from the boat. There were life jackets for everyone. We were a little worried about having no air conditioning, but it wasn’t an issue at all. With all the many fans and the shade from the trees, the cabin never got too warm. We had a comfortable temperature all week. The wifi was very strong, so my husband could get some work done each morning. We enjoyed visiting the towns nearby. Nisswa has turtle races on Wednesday’s, Piquot Lakes has a great grocery store and fishing supply store. We also had a fun round of mini golf at the Pirate’s Cove just 10 minutes away. It was a great week of relaxing and the owners were great at communicating. I highly recommend this cabin. There is only one thing that wasn’t perfect - the mattresses were too soft for our liking. We didn’t sleep great because they were saggy and we are not heavy people. Maybe it is just our personal preference, but if they upgrade the mattresses it would be an A+ for sure.

Thanks Charmaine! We just got New Matresses!!! So everyone can sleep well! Thanks for the tip!
Our family of 4 really enjoyed our time at The Cabin. We spent many hours on the lake kayaking and fishing. The water temperature was cool for me but the kids didn’t mind. Cindy was very attentive. She answered messages quickly and we appreciated all of the s’mores ingredients they had ready for us on arrival. Would definitely stay here again!!
We enjoyed our stay very much. The owner was thoughtful having everything we needed for an enjoyable weekend. We especially liked the small touches— coffee and filters so that we had coffee without going to the grocery store, the fixings for s’mores that were provided and the two bottles of wine and spaghetti dinner that the owner provided. We had a long day of traveling and didn’t feel like grocery shopping so we’re thrilled with these things. The cabin is tastefully decorated and we made a fire to enjoy the outdoors. We also took the kayak and rowboat for a spin. We laughed a lot. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Cindy was responsive to us quickly when we needed to reach her.
The Cabin was a wonderful spot for a girlfriend getaway. We were thrilled with the clean and comfortable cabin while enjoying the view of beautiful Loon Lake. The owners were excellent at communicating beforehand and were quick to respond to our questions once we arrived. What a nice surprise having a bottle of wine and fixings for spaghetti and s’mores waiting for us upon arrival. We highly recommend “The Cabin” to all. We hope to visit again someday soon.
Excellent home for a family getaway! Plenty of space to spread out. Upgraded kitchen and bathrooms. We stayed during a HOT 4th of July week and the lake breeze kept things cool. The host has thought of everything to make your stay extra special. We hope to be back again soon.
The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. Cindy provided everything we needed and more. We brought several things like laundry soap, a pump for our floaties, and room fans. These were all there waiting for us. We loved the lake, enjoyed the boat and kayaks. We caught several fish right off the dock and from the boat. The ad said when we booked that the cabin had basic cable and it did not so I suggest updating that. We did use the free netflix and hulu. The Wifi was decent. I also recommend figuring out a lock for the upstairs bathroom sliding barn door. Overall, a great rental. We loved it and will look for availability next summer! Thank you.
Adorable cabin with everything you would want to enjoy a get away! Cindy set us up for a perfect first night with all sorts of treats and plenty of fans to keep us cool. Plenty of towels, pillows, blankets to keep us comfy. We fished off the dock and caught bass, pike and sunnies, the boys were thrilled. And made great use of the kayaks. Water was a great temp and the water area was well tended, raked so not too weedy. It was really wonderful. One tiny minus was the next door neighbor who was up at 7:40 power washing something, but other than that, it was perfect! And when we had an issue with a smoke detector, Cindy was there right away to take care of it. Thanks for a great weekend!!

I’m so glad you had a wonderful time! It warms my heart! I hope you will come again.
It was a perfect cozy, clean and beautiful cabin. We spend most of the time outside by the lake, doing kayak , and by the firepit. Beds were very conformable and enough for the 7 of us. The nicer thing is the dinning area because was also a place where all get together for each meal, large table with a lot of light and perfect view to the lake. The owner had wine waiting for us at the arrival, that was SO nice!
My friends already changed the name to our chat's group, so definitively we would like to come back to The Cabin :-)
Thank you!

About the host
Hosted by Cindy
Spending every summer at the cabin is a Minnesota tradition. As a child I spent summers at "the Cabin" learning to water ski, sail, canoe, learn about the wildlife in northern MN. Along with spending quality time with family and friends. I have been lucky enough to share these Minnesota experiences with my children and grandchildren too. Now I'd like everyone to have the opportunity to spend the summer "Up North" at "the Cabin"!
Why they chose this property
The cabin has been in my family since 1970! The original cabin is the section closest to the lake, a lop sided A frame. The 2 story addition was added in the early 90's. This past winter was spent giving the cabin a new fresh makeover for all to enjoy. My hope is to share "the Cabin" with others who love nature and would like to create memories with their family and friends.
What makes this property unique
There is nothing like sitting on the dock and seeing the loons swim buy, "The Cabin" is a very special place.
