Guest Access:
Guests have full access to the entire property throughout their stay. We kindly ask that you be mindful of our neighbors and keep noise levels low, particularly after 10 PM.
As is typical for many traditional Lisbon buildings, sound insulation can be limited, so you may occasionally hear noise from neighbouring apartments.
The Neighborhood:
Located in southwest Lisbon, Belém is a historic, much-loved neighborhood rich in iconic sights. Along the Tejo River stands the 56-meter Monument to the Discoveries, celebrating Portugal’s legendary explorers. Nearby, the 1514 Belém Tower serves as a must-see naval fortress; arriving early is recommended to beat the crowds. Also close by is the Jerónimos Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and former sanctuary for sailors. Art lovers should not miss the Museu Coleção Berardo, featuring masterpieces by Picasso, Dalí, and Warhol.
For a true taste of Portugal, visit the world-famous Pastéis de Belém for its unbeatable custard tarts. When dining, Enoteca De Belém offers a warm atmosphere and an extensive wine list, while Feitoria provides an upscale, innovative menu in a stylish setting. Nosolo Italia Belém is another fantastic choice, serving Italian favorites with stunning river views. To unwind, enjoy the 1930s jazz vibes and cocktails at Speakeasy, or visit Bar 38º 41—named after historic maritime coordinates—for sophisticated drinks in an elegant riverside space.
Getting Around:
Belém train station is a convenient 5-minute walk from the property, offering frequent connections to both central Lisbon and Cascais. Trains typically run every 20 minutes throughout the day. We recommend using the Citymapper app for easy navigation, though taxis, Uber, and other ride-sharing services are also readily available in the area.

The apartment accommodates a maximum of 4 guests; no additional visitors are permitted. The living area includes a comfortable double sofa bed for extra guests.

Hi Ruth, thank you for your review in regards to your recent stay. We at Houst are pleased that you had a lovely time and enjoyed one of our many properties. We hope to host you again soon.
Good location for the Lisbon Convention Centre. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Only downside is the need to pick up/drop off keys at a location about 10min away by Uber.

Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, listing accuracy
Mouldy, oldie, dreadfully coldie
Advertised as a modern property in Belem, it is actually in a musty old building in Ajuda.
First impressions were grim. Getting off the plane at around 9pm I received a WhatsApp with my "check in" arrangements. The key had been wrapped in a piece of plastic bag and concealed in a patch of weeds and litter in a hole in the wall of a neighbouring building.
Arriving at the address at 9:45pm 16th January, in pitch dark, gale force winds, torrential rain, thunder and lightening I had to explore a number of derelict buildings and soggy wet litter piles looking for the key.
I knew the property had no lift, but not that the building didn't accord with building codes. The staircase was 24 inches (60cm) wide and virtually a spiral, with 17 steps per floor (34 steps in total).
The apartment was cold and smelled damp. There were stains on the furnishings. The bed and all the bedding was damp (thought they were clean).
There was moisture running down the walls and mould growing under the windows, on the ceiling and walls in the bathroom and black mould all over the shower cubicle.
It was too cold to sleep in the damp bed. I slept in my down jacket, hat and gloves on the floor under the one functioning heater. The host initially refused any refund of my advance 2 week payment. After 5 days of me wiping down the walls, tumble drying the bedding and treating the mouldy bathroom they allowed me a partial discount. I would have preferred a release from the mouldy hole.
