About this property
*recently updated* town House - Spacious B listed Georgian Townhouse
The charming Cameron House is a B Listed, 18th-century Georgian townhouse that blends old and new with stunning antique furnishings, original architecture, and comfortable furnishings.
Located right in the heart of Kingdom Fife, you are within walking distance to a bakery, shops, and cafes, minutes to Falkland Palace, Lochleven Castle, over 50 Golf courses and only an hour’s drive to Edinburgh.
Perfect for groups or families with room for 11+2+1 guests over spacious bedrooms.
Enter the townhouse via the easy keysafe from the kitchen. The kitchen comes fully stocked with everything you could need to cook up breakfast lunch and dinner. There is a fridge, freezer, a microwave, utensils, pots/pans, an oven, a stovetop, and a coffee machine just to name a few along with a dishwasher to take care of all the cleaning up.
Step through into the former entrance hall there is a beautiful staircase that led to the upstairs sitting room.
The ornate sitting room is filled with plush sofas surrounding the fireplace and TV. Take out one of the many board games on offer for a bit of fun or just use this space to sit together with some drinks while you catch up and plan the day's adventures.
Enjoy your culinary creations in the dining room with a grand table set for twelve or for a less formal dining experience, there is a second table for four located within the kitchen.
There are two bedrooms located downstairs, the first features a large king bed with a separate sitting area and French doors that open out into the walled yard. The second bedroom is perfect for families with a comfortable double and single bed separated by a large bedside table.
Make your way upstairs where you will find an additional 3 bedrooms. The children’s bedrooms feature a fun London bus-themed bunk bed along with an additional full-sized single bed. There are toys and a little drawing table that is sure to keep the kids entertained.
The expansive king room is large and spacious with a vaulted roof and a boxing post for energetic guests who want to keep fit. There is a large dresser where you can unpack and make yourself at home, along with a crib for young families with all linens supplied.
The 3rd upstairs bedroom is filled with a large ornate bed and surrounded with natural light from the beautiful inlaid windows.
There are three bathrooms that service each floor that are stocked with quality amenities and soft fluffy towels for each guest along with a laundry space with a washing machine and dryer. There is a dedicated lounge/office with a desk, sofas, TV, and a projector where you can study, catch up with friends or work remotely using the free WiFi.
Make your way outside to the grassy outdoor decked yard with a BBQ and alfresco dining, perfect for cooking up an afternoon lunch while you chat with friends.
The townhouse is full of rich Scottish history with it once being the former home and practice of The Doctors of Auchtermuchty. The show Dr. Finlay’s Casebook was shot in town with the main character and namesake of the house Dr. Cameron said to be inspired by the doctors who once practiced at the house.
The nearby town of Falkland (5 min drive) was also the filming location for the popular TV series Outlander which depicted the town of Inverness.
So, for a true Scottish rural retreat steeped in history right in the heart of a charming walkable town, only 5 minutes to attractions, the beautiful town of Falkland, dozens of top golf courses and only an hour to Edinburgh, you simply can’t go past this historic Georgian home for your next trip to central Scotland.
