We had a wonderful stay for our daughter's wedding. Everything was perfect for our family and bridesmaids who stayed. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and there was sufficient relaxing space downstairs by the open kitchen and dining area. The views from the house are stunning and it is easy to go out on country walks. The bathrooms were on each floor and all was of a very good quality. We would highly recommend the house.

That’s so kind of you Sylvia it’s great to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. So glad the wedding went to plan. Thanks again and all the best to you and your guests.
The property was a little confusing to find, because the only signage referred to the adjoining property is in front of it. Prior warning would have helped. The accommodation was first class, got brilliant and a lovely time had by all.

Thank you for your lovely comments about the accommodation — we’re really pleased you had a brilliant stay and enjoyed your time at the property.
Just to clarify for future guests, there is signage for The Vestry clearly displayed on the front of the house to help with locating the property. We’ll also continue to provide detailed arrival instructions to make things as straightforward as possible.
We’d love to welcome you back again in the future.
A well-equipped, spacious house over four floors in a beautiful location opposite Leeming reservoir. Comfortable beds, nice outdoor space with lovely walks from the doorstep. Seven of us and two dogs stayed comfortably,

Stayed here at the end of January for my 60th, we chose this property for its size and open plan living area, set over 4 floors, 6 adults, 5 kidsBedrooms were lovely, bedding fresh and clean, towels provided, top floor is also open plan, Living quarters is looking tired, both sofas are very well worn, flat cushions, too many scatter cushions masking it ( we moved these to the utility) along with the rug, we moved the larger sofa back to give us more space, the floor under the sofa cannot have seen an hoover for a while, The kitchen area was ok, ample equipment, dinner service, cup, cutlery all great This property could be so special, but it ok

Thank you for your feedback and for celebrating your 60th birthday with us.
We’re delighted you enjoyed the size, layout, bedrooms and well-equipped kitchen — it’s great to hear these worked well for your group.
We were surprised by the comments regarding the sofas, as they are only three years old and are professionally cleaned and maintained regularly. That said, we take all feedback seriously and have since carried out an additional deep clean, including beneath and behind all furniture, to ensure everything is as it should be.
We’re always looking at ways to keep the property feeling fresh and welcoming, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.
We hope you had a wonderful celebration.
What a wonderful time we had celebrating mum's 90th birthday with the family. The Vestry was absolutely perfect for us all, plenty of room, loads of character and superb location. The hot tub certainly got plenty of use too. Karen kept in touch and was a great host. Hopefully we'll come back again in the near future.

Thank you Paul for your review. You were a pleasure to deal with and I’m so glad you have had a great time with your family. That’s what The Vestry excels at due to size and space. You are welcome back anytime.
House was great, perfect for our group and really well furnished. Only downside was hot tub not working for the duration of our stay. This was possibly due to water in the power socket. Host did her best to resolve remotely but not possible.
Great house for weekend away with friends or family.Could do with a bit of updating in some areas & the cleaning could do with being a little more accurate. We noticed quite a lot of cobwebs but apart from that a lovely propery in a stunning location.

Thank you for your review it’s much appreciated. Honestly I can’t keep up with the cob webs this year I don’t know where they are coming from. I’m out constantly with the extendable duster getting rid of them, as soon as I turn my back they are back. The property had a deep clean two weeks ago so I would be interested to hear where you thought the issues were? Thanks again And you’re welcome back any time.
11 of us stayed for the weekend and had such a great time. Gorgeous house with fab garden and hot tub a bonus. Lovely area with nice Sunday pub lunch. Host (Karen) just lovely to deal with. Thanks for a great stay 😊

Thank you Laura nice of you to comment on our lovely house. Oh and me :)
Well equipped house with plenty of space. Has four floors but we havd one person with reduced mobility and managed to the first floor without too much problem. We found plenty to do (NT and the railway to mention two). Kids loved the hot tub. Pheasants and deer in the field behind us.

Very spacious house with comfortable bedrooms and living areas. Fully equipped kitchen and secure garden with table and chairs and a seating area. Charcoal bbq (a little small for the potential numbers of guests). Also a hot tub which proved a great hit, Pub within walking distance and other attractions easily reached by car

We had a fabulous long weekend at The Vestry celebrating my dad's 80th. The house was an excellent size to accommodate all the family (10 of us), with the living area being a great size for our celebrations, and relaxing. The hot tub was a welcome addition and was well used throughout. The kitchen was well equipped for all of our cooking needs whilst there. There are a lot of stairs to get to all of the various bedrooms, not a problem for most, but my parents had to use the first floor bedroom. I'm pleased to say we didn't do much exploring over the weekend due to the fantastic weather, so we spent a lot of time in the back garden watching deer, pheasants and curlews. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re delighted to hear The Vestry was the perfect setting for your dad’s 80th birthday celebration — what a special occasion. It’s great to know the space worked well for your family and that the hot tub and garden wildlife added to your enjoyment. We really appreciate you mentioning the stairs and are glad your parents were comfortable on the first floor. We’d be thrilled to welcome you all back anytime!
The property is situated in a lovely, peaceful spot. On Friday night when we arrived, sat having drinks in the garden we were lucky enough to see a mother deer and her fawn skipping up the fields behind us. The house was well equipped and had everything we needed, large spacious bedrooms and a lovely hot tub. We had lunch in the dog and gun pub just up the road and the food was delicious. We then called at the Lamb just over the road for a quick drink before going back to enjoy the house. The host (Karen) was so helpful, she was easy to contact and got back to me with any questions I had and sent us a list of restaurants and takeaways which we used on the Friday night. I would definitely recommend this place!

our stay at the vestry
We had a very nice stay ,in this lovely loccation the cottage was large and clean , however on arrival we found the dryer was not working, rang the host several times and left messages and e mails. We had no reply or any contact during our stay ,so dryer remained broken ( frustrating ). Also a minor irk was there was no tin opener.A welcome pack would have been nicer than a download. The host scored 0 but the stay was nice
Booked this house for 2 nights for 4 adults and 9 children of varying ages including 3 babies. The house is beautiful and very well equipped. We were unlucky with the weather and so we were inside a fair bit. We did spend some time in central park. We ate at the Dog and Gun and the staff there were so lovely and accommodating. The food was lovely. The host was so helpful both before and during the trip. Communication was quick and easy and she was so accommodating and understanding. Perfect aside from the weather!
Just come back from a lovely weekend, what a beautiful house! Everything was spotlessly clean, the kitchen facilities were great although we didn’t really do much cooking. Bedrooms were beautifully decorated and the beds very comfortable. Garden was brilliant for the dogs as there was a gate at the top of the drive you could close off so they couldn’t get out. Would say very small dogs could possibly squeeze through the bottom but we just put something up against it to stop this and kept an eye on them at all times. The hot tub was a fantastic addition which the kids (and adults) loved. The surrounding area is lovely, we had a walk around the small reservoir nearby. There’s are also 2 pubs in walking distance but we didn’t end up having time to try these. Karen was easy to reach and answered all questions I had before and during our stay. Overall everyone said what a fantastic weekend it had been so thank you very much and hopefully we’ll be back again soon.

We had a great time staying at the Vestry, the house is clean with good sized rooms and comfortable beds. The hot tub was fantastic and really made the weekend for me and my friends. Karen was helpful, coming over to help reset the oven when it wasn’t turning on due to power going off. This was an easy fix but maybe worth including in the house guide.
Overall, thank you for a fantastic weekend and would definitely stay again!
We stayed at the Vestry as party of 9, for my brother-in-law's 60th birthday. The house is spacious, warm and cosy and enjoyed the outside hot-tub. Location Is an excellent base to explore the surrounding Yorkshire scenery and within easy walking distance to Howarth with local pubs and places to eat. We would be happy to visit again and recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break.
