Just a short distance away is the dramatic natural ravine at Danes Dyke or the soaring chalk cliffs of Bempton with its RSPB wild bird centre, where you can view nesting puffins and gannets. Bridlington itself, with its historic harbour, is just a few minutes’ drive away with a promenade, old town and a golden sandy beach to discover. There is also the historic fishing village of Flamborough, with the iconic lighthouse perched up on the cliff tops and seal colonies below, whilst inland you have the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds. York, Hull, Scarborough and Beverley can all be reached in under an hour. This is a great choice of destination for those looking to explore the countryside and the many delights of Yorkshire as well as the east coastline. Children are sure to enjoy a day at the beach, as well as the fairground, arcades and the leisure centre with swimming pool and clip and climb wall in Bridlington. For an extra special treat, Flamingo Land theme park is less than an hour away. In nearby Scarborough there is Alpamare waterpark and spa next to Peasholm Park, which has a boating lake and open air theatre. A Sea Life Centre can also be found on the seafront.
